Where to start: I had a 3 night stay in a single room. 1. No fridge or mini bar in room 2. The bed was poorly made, so that I had to partially make the bed so I could sleep in it. 3. The mattress had a very noticeable dip in the middle - not sure how old it was! 4. For breakfast there was no real orange juice. 5. After the first night I received a call at 11:15 in the morning to say the checkout time is 11:00. I informed them I was staying another 2 nights. „Oh, I will need to check that“, came the reply. No return call to acknowledge their mistake. On the first night there were issues with the heating - probably not reset after the last guest. Meant I woke at about 3 AM sweating and had to figure out how to lower the room temperature and turn off the towel rail - which was almost too hot to touch. For the price they charged, 3 nights with breakfast: £478, it was not what I would call good value. I have been in other, similar hotels at around the same price and had a much better experience. The only positive was that the staff were generally friendly.

As usual with my frequent visit to this area I find Woodbury Park hotel has been my preferred place to stay. Staff are lovely kind and helpful. It’s a beautiful hotel satin a very picturesque location surrounded by pleasant scenery. Hotels and rooms are very clean and well attended to. Restaurant services are clean and impeccable. Credit goes to the chefs and the team who managed the service. I have had a pleasant breakfast service during my stay at Woodbury. I hope the staff and the team at Woodbury keep up the good work and encourage us to use them during my future trips to the area.

We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend in July , while going to a let's rock Exeter concert . We were extremely disappointed with our stay and I honestly believe this is probably the most overpriced place we have ever stayed . The room rate per night was £98 , in reality it's worth £30 plus an extra £5 per head for breakfast . We expected it to be basic .... but not this basic .... we booked through ********** and weren't aware of the full details . When booking in we were given very little info , no breakfast times etc . There were no parking spaces near the accommodation so we had to drop the luggage off and park the car a long way down a hill !! We were 5 floors up with no lift !!! Staff appeared vague and not all welcoming . Once in the room , it felt very claustrophobic, the room was hot and very small, it had patio doors but they could only be opened a small amount as had a lock on them. The bed was a metal one with a cheap mattress and wasn't comfortable . The bathroom was tiny and a wet room ( literally ) the shower wasn't great and similar to those you get in a camp site . I'm guessing we paid more as Exeter was pretty booked up this weekend due to the festival but I asked what the normal room rate is and was told it was £83 !!! Even £83 is a ridiculous price for such inferior basic accommodation . The bathroom is shabby and the door doesn't go right down to the floor , the wardrobe door needed attention as one of the brackets was coming off . The only toiletries provided was a tiny bar of soap and there was only one coffee, one tea, milk and sugar , so we had to ask for more . The toilet roll was nasty and poor quality, so we went to the nearest supermarket and bought our own . Booking this place put a real dampener on our weekend and I'd never stay here again . If you're going to charge £99 for a room , at least make it a decent standard . We found it quite noisy , doors slamming and the fire alarm went off at 11.30 pm one night ..... the only good thing was the quality of breakfast but eating in a school type canteen and queuing up for everything isn't our thing . Next time I will book a travelodge or premier inn, I will save a lot of money and get a decent night's sleep . Speaking to others staying here , I know we weren't the only ones disappointed with our stay and felt it was a total waste of money . Would not recommend this to anyone .
