Spent 5 days at this hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The hotel itself was tidy and fresh and our room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was delicious and freshly served and was included as part of the package. The hotel is around a 10 to 15 minute walk from Our Lady of Fatima Sanctuary and only 5 minutes from the start of the Way of Cross. ALDI and other convenience stores are also nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to visit the sites of Fatima!

We spent 2 nights at Sao Jose in a double room. The staff provided excellent service. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with its en-suite bathroom. Breakfast offered plenty of (very good) choices. The location - very close to the sanctuary - is perfect. We could easily find a spot to park our car close to the hotel. All in all, this was a great stay! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We had an excellent stay at this hotel a couple of weeks ago. The junior suite we stayed in was so spacious and comfortable! Everything worked well in the room. There was a minibar fridge that we could use (not stocked with minibar items at the moment as part of the ongoing hygiene measures), a kettle and sachets of tea. I would, however, advise the hotel management to apply the same hygiene principles to the drink sachets as they did with the minibar items. Remove them and only give these to the guests upon request. Our tea sachets looked crumpled and well-handled so we didn’t touch them. Depending on the number of guests, breakfast was either a buffet or a pre-ordered meal. We had the opportunity to experience both! Buffet breakfast was great with a lot of variety. There were scrambled eggs, crispy bacon slices, a variety of cheeses and ham, cereals, nuts, yoghurt, hot drinks, vegan packet drinks, different homemade jams, a variety of delicious pastries, different types of fresh bread and freshly sliced fruits (honey dew, kiwi, papaya, orange, etc.). The buffet breakfast was served by the staff. No self-service and no re-using of already used plates for hygiene reasons. Every time we wanted a second serve, the staff would serve the food on a clean plate. This was really such a good move to avoid the serving tongs/ladles coming into contact with used plates and increasing the risk of food cross-contamination!! The pre-ordered breakfast was also very good as it had the same items for guests to order (from a menu list) for breakfast the following day. Location wise, the hotel is around 7 minutes walk from the Sanctuary. The Fátima bus station is a 3-minute walk away and fast food outlets Burger King and McDonald’s are nearby. There is also a Pingo Doce supermarket in the area. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful grounds and a lush, stunning garden that is well worth exploring! There are ample free parking spaces on the grounds. The hotel also has two on-site chapels with the presence of the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. The larger chapel is absolutely stunning!! Sunday Masses (9.00 a.m.) are said here. The other chapel is smaller and very pretty and is used for daily Masses. To be able to attend daily Mass (7.20 a.m. on weekdays) was the highlight for us! Masses were beautiful and spiritually uplifting. Last but not least, the staff! They were exemplary (receptionists, breakfast staff, etc.)! Very efficient, polite, warm and friendly and taking the hygiene measures seriously. My card was wiped with a disinfectant wipe before being handed back to me! I was also given a disinfected pen with which to sign a form! Very nicely done! A beautiful hotel with beautiful chapels, beautiful grounds and beautiful people! Very peaceful and with a good ambience. It is especially good for personal self-retreats. Would stay here again without any hesitation. Highly recommended! Stayed in this hotel as part of a tour package booking from Singapore. It has a strategic location just a minutes walk to the square where nightly procession of Catholic worshipers, local and foreigners visit to pay penance or for prayers. The corridor becomes newer n more modern once u go up to the 1st floor. Bedroom n bath are very well organised. Shower stall with 2 glass panels whilst all other hotels on my Spain trip had single glass panel, floor gets wet inevitably. Had an excellent shower. Shower pressure Excellent. Shower stall adequate size for me. Breakfast n dinner were buffet style. Simple and tasty.

Eu e minha família ficamos 2 dias hospedados nesse Hotel. Trata-se de um antigo mosteiro de padres ortodoxos que foi transformado em Hotel, inclusive tem uma Capela dentro dele onde são celebradas missas até hoje. Ele fica a poucos metros do Santuário e pode-se ir andando em poucos minutos até lá. As camas são boas, banheiro privativo e chuveiro com água quente, ar condicionado e o Café da manhã é maravilhoso. O atendimento é excelente mas o problema é que não tem frigobar nos quartos. Mesmo assim, eu recomendo se hospedar nesse belíssimo Hotel.

Wonderful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the perimeter of the shrine, yet still close enough to the shrine to be convenient. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious, with plentiful choices. The common areas were particularly charming, and the grounds are peaceful and beautiful. Perfect place for both pilgrims who want a quiet space to contemplate their visit to the shrine and travelers in the general area looking for a unique and lovely place to stay.

Warm reception, delightful friendly and helpful staff throughout. Great breakfast choice in restaurant with views across the town to the wonderful castle. Nice little rooftop pool and bar. The mini apartment was great .... big comfortable beds, nicely equipped kitchen area and spacious lounge. All clean. Couldn't have asked for more especially at the orice. Really impressed.

What I liked: 1. I found the staff in the restaurant excellent. They made sure I was accommodated based on my allergies at the included dinner provided by the tour. Even at breakfast, the staff were there to advise. This was impressive. 2. The breakfast was a full breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and fruit. The only improvement is changing the orange juice since it tasted like Tang. This doesn’t make sense in a country with nice oranges. 3. Excellent location and pretty much across the street from the main churches with Fatima. What could be improved/didn’t like: 1. I had a very negative incident with front desk reception which was both disrespectful and unprofessional given my complaint was about a blood-coloured plasma stain on my bathroom wall. Since I started travelling post covid, I always wipe down and clean the hotel rooms with Lysol wipes. It makes me feel more secure. However, when we arrive in our room, we found a plasma like blood coloured stand on the side wall near the washroom faucet. I was not going to clean this by myself, since to me it looked like blood and the room should have been cleaned properly. I went to the front desk to report the issue. The front desk reception was very arrogant and dismissive. He gave me the impression that he thought I was making it up and just wanted to get rid of me. After insisting that it be cleaned, he agreed to send the Room Service Manager up to check. In the meantime, I went to dinner. When I returned from dinner, I saw the stain still on the wall. I assumed that no one came to check. I phoned reception and the front desk told me in an arrogant tone – “He didn’t see anything and there is no problem.” Honestly, I was livid. I couldn’t believe anyone could be so rude and dismissive. Fatima is a place people go for pilgrimages. I don’t see how this behaviour reflects the peace people seek in a pilgrimage. I told him I didn’t even know someone came in the room, since there was no note. I insisted that he come back, since I was now in the room. The Room Service Manger came, and I asked him to put on a mask. Then, we went into the washroom, and I showed him the stain. It was clear he didn’t see it from the last visit. He told me that he looked near the toilet. While he was cooperative and helpful, I was very annoyed. I said that I gave all the information to the front desk reception, and they neglected to pass on anything. He apologized and said he would send someone to clean it. Another lady came to clean the room and I also asked her to put on a mask. She cleaned up the stain in less than 5 mins and apologized that it was missed. I found her genuine. It is very unfortunate that a problem that should have taken 10 minutes to resolve took at least 30 minutes of my time on my vacation. I also didn’t appreciate being presumed a liar when the room was not cleaned properly. The Lysol wipes that I used to clean the room picked up dust and dirt. When I mentioned this prob
