Mt. Fuji View Onsen Ooike Hotel

Pros: 1. The room comfortably accommodated 3 adults, although the bathroom was a bit small even for one person. 2. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was satisfactory. 3. Breakfast met our expectations. 4. The onsen experience was enjoyable overall. 5. The hotel's location is convenient, being close to Lake Kawaguchiko. 6. Free parking area is near the hotel entrance. Cons: 1. We specifically booked a room with a "mountain view" hoping to see Mount Fuji. Our room was on level 3. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that our view only included the tip of the mountain, obstructed by buildings and electric cables. This was quite different from the picturesque view advertised on their website. Considering the high price of the room (SGD$800 per night for 3 persons), this was a huge disappointment. We strongly believe that the hotel should reconsider offering level 3 rooms as 'mountain view' rooms and reserve levels 4 and 5 for this category, as this feels like a misrepresentation. 2. Dinner was a huge letdown. We were served only 2 platters of meat (pork and beef) of average quality and 1 vegetable platter for Shabu Shabu. The selection was extremely limited. Although we were offered a Kaiseki Ryori (multi-course Japanese-style meal) for the next evening, there was an additional charge of over $3000+ yen per person for the upgrade. Despite the extra cost, this option seemed more appealing as we did not want to have the same Shabu Shabu two nights in a row.

Our room has Mount Fuji view, which is really nice :) - the two pictures below were taken in the room. We also enjoyed our dinner and breakfast at the hotel! The shabu-shabu dinner allowed us to order unlimited beef, pork and veggies within 90 mins, and the hotel offers buffet breakfast with great variety of food and drink choices. The hotel is close to both the bus stop 4 and the bus stop 6 of red/purple/green lines, so depending on where one plan to go, one can get on/off at either bus stop, with a few minute walk from the hotel. (For example, it took us about 15 mins to walk from hotel to the cable car station.) The staff there are really friendly, with excellent services - a big thank to them! There are two onsen areas at the hotel - one in the main building and another in the annex building. We went to the main building one, but it was a bit small and quite crowded, so the hygiene there was suboptimal. This is the only minor thing that we wish that the hotel could do better. All in all, our stay was wonderful :)

Very good service with nice food, the room is clean and tidy, we booked the room with Fuji view, we can see a very nice sights I.

Hotel location is good and can see Fuji Mt at room. The food and service is fair. But, the hot spring closes at 10:00pm that is too easily.

Suggest to book hotel limo service before If not, need Tourist Information Center to call them. Or call hotel directly. It will take time to wait for 10 mins. We are lucky to book Fuji Mountain View, attached the photo.

Great check-in experience with welcome drink/snacks, staff to help move bags from carpark to room. Room hot bath always ready, and package is with kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast. There are two public onsens and other extra private onsen options. The rest, you can see photos uploaded. Top view of fuji mountain!

I reckoned this is one of the best hotel in town, overall experience is welcoming and friendly.
