Mt. Fuji View Onsen Ooike Hotel

Service is Impeccable, excellent. Really appreciated the hospitality of offer a dessert and beautiful wordings for celebrating me & my wife’s 14th Wedding Anniversary. Unforgettable Dining experience. Our room is facing FUJI mountain and we are so lucky that we can see it in the cloudy day. All facilities are good, we will definitely stay this hotel again and we will highly recomend to our friends & family to stay if they go to FUJI. To all staffs, you all doing an excellent job and keep going. We will see you soon in the future.

Hotel provides free shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko station, you can ask the station information counter to help call the shuttle on your behalf. Staff are very attentive and friendly, will help you with your baggage the moment you arrive at their doorstep. Rooms are spacious and clean. Walking distance to the lakeside and nearby area bus that will take you around the lake. Delicious included dinner and breakfast spread.

The hotel is near the bus station. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast is one of the best we have had while travelling. The traditional style room is a cool experience and when the weather is good you have a nice view of Mount Fuji.

The room is large and clean without any odd smell. The private bathtub is nice. The staff is extremely polite and patient. It is kinda pity that the view of the mt.fuji is blocked by the cloudy weather.

Pros: 1. The room comfortably accommodated 3 adults, although the bathroom was a bit small even for one person. 2. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was satisfactory. 3. Breakfast met our expectations. 4. The onsen experience was enjoyable overall. 5. The hotel's location is convenient, being close to Lake Kawaguchiko. 6. Free parking area is near the hotel entrance. Cons: 1. We specifically booked a room with a "mountain view" hoping to see Mount Fuji. Our room was on level 3. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that our view only included the tip of the mountain, obstructed by buildings and electric cables. This was quite different from the picturesque view advertised on their website. Considering the high price of the room (SGD$800 per night for 3 persons), this was a huge disappointment. We strongly believe that the hotel should reconsider offering level 3 rooms as 'mountain view' rooms and reserve levels 4 and 5 for this category, as this feels like a misrepresentation. 2. Dinner was a huge letdown. We were served only 2 platters of meat (pork and beef) of average quality and 1 vegetable platter for Shabu Shabu. The selection was extremely limited. Although we were offered a Kaiseki Ryori (multi-course Japanese-style meal) for the next evening, there was an additional charge of over $3000+ yen per person for the upgrade. Despite the extra cost, this option seemed more appealing as we did not want to have the same Shabu Shabu two nights in a row.

The overall arrival experience was great, the hoteal can arrange a shuttle van to pick you up from Kawaguchiko station, but it should be noted that this is available only after 2.30 pm. We booked the 4/5F Mt. Fuji view room, but even on 4th floor, there is still electric cable outside. The service was great and the staff was very attentive to your request. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of options, both western and japanese, to choose from.

The onsen is facing Mount Fuji. The interior is traditional Japanese style.

Great area with wide room space! Location wise is okay but will have to walk to station! But overall good!
