Merveilleux séjour. Tout était parfait. Personnel très accueillant et attentionné. L’hôtel est récent, tout est pensé avec goût. Les matériaux, la décoration, la qualité de la chambre. Accès à l’espace thalasso très appréciable. Petit déjeuner délicieux. À recommander vivement !

Wat een mooi hotel! Kamers waren erg netjes. Het restaurant was online helemaal volgeboekt. Bij het inchecken toch nog gevraagd of het mogelijk was om een tafeltje voor 2 te reserveren. Dit was gelukkig mogelijk! En wat een heerlijk restaurant (aanrader!) Ook het ontbijt de volgende ocgtend was goed geregeld. Vriendelijk personeel en een goede locatie (5 min en je staat hartje centrum) Wij komen hier zeker nog eens terug!

We picked this hotel for a long weekend stay in Ghent. Location was convenient, direct tram line to the central station, while walking distance to everything worth seeing in Ghent. The room was comfy, standard ibis equipment, nothing fancy - but clean, very neat and everything was functioning rather well. The breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about, but it was reasonable to set one up for a successful day of sightseeing. WiFi worked good.

We spend two nights in this very nice hotel just outside the city center of Ghent. The hotel is easy to reach by car (remember that it is in the low-emission zone, so check whether you need to register your car before entering that zone) and is within about 20mins walking distance to the center of Ghent. We also used the indoor car parking of the hotel (remember to make a reservation for that as it only fits about 4 cars). Our room (a deluxe double) was located on the second floor of the hotel (no elevator but that was no problem for us) and was very comfortable with a good heating system. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. The room, and in particular the window frames and windows, could do with some maintenance though and a good paint job. The bed was very comfortable and the room was pretty quiet, so we had a very good sleep. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection of food and drinks, including some local specialties. Also, all the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. We would definitely consider staying here again when next in Ghent.

Voor ons bezoek aan de Gentse feesten hebben we dit hotel gekozen vooreerst voor zijn prijs en de ligging, net iets buiten de feestvreugde. Na onze wagen te parkeren in de zuidparking (200m van het hotel) hebben we ons ingecheckt en kregen we kamer 16 aangewezen. Het onthaal was vriendelijk maar de kamerprijs werd reeds van onze kredietkaart afgeboekt. We hebben geen keuze gekregen om via onze bankkaart te betalen. Vreemd !! Kamer 16 bevond zich in een bijgebouw waardoor we heel wat gangen en trappen moesten trotseren om er te geraken. Kamer was zeer basic, een beetje ouwbollig. Dubbel bed was klein (1,60m) maar bevatte goeie matrassen. Algemene indruk was een standaard kamer voor een standaard prijs. Geen mini-bar, wel een frigo op de gelijkvloers waar je iets kon uithalen. Geen thee-en koffiefaciliteiten. Wel een goeie airco en douchecel. Helaas was de netheid van de kamer twijfelachtig doordat we een leeg drankblik onder het bed vonden. Hopelijk was de rest wel grondig gepoetst. Hotel is wel stil en dikke pluim voor de nachtdienst die ons geholpen heeft aan de toegangscode via de telefoon. Door het feest vieren waren wij deze kwijt gespeeld. Het ontbijt was goed. Geen spek met eieren maar wel lekkere ontbijtkoeken. We raden dit hotel aan als je het lawaai van de stad schuwt, als je genoegen neemt met de basis, als je niet teveel gesteld bent op luxe en de prijs/kwaliteit in het oog houdt. Een standaard uitvalbasis om Gent te ontdekken. Hotel bevat geen lift en omgeving ‘s nachts is een beetje onguur.

A very disappointing stay at Novotel Centrum. Pros - Location. You can't get a better location. Close to everything including lots of eateries at your doorstep. Cons: Customer service - the customer service was the worst I've experienced in a long time. The staff were disinterested and rude. We checked in and I came down to advise that there were no baby beds in the room even though we had requested them well in advance and in all correspondence with the hotel before arriving. I was greeted with 'Hi, are you checking in' by the same person who checked me in no more than five minutes earlier. I would have accepted this but it happened again the next time I approached the reception desk. It was not a busy period for the hotel. I was rudely told off for asking again when I came downstairs to double check a second baby bed was indeed coming as only one had been delivered to the room in the time between first enquiring. I also made another enquiry during our stay and the staff member said they would provide me the answer but never got back to me. Room The room itself was dark and very old. I didn't want to spend any time in there. The rooms haven't been updated for a very long time and due to this the room felt dusty and not very clean. When the baby beds did arrive, one was in good condition and the other was in a terrible state. The material keeping the bed together was ripped in a number of places and the mattress itself was basically split in half due to being folded up so many times. I understand that baby beds are complementary, but this was not acceptable. When the rooms were cleaned, they only did a very surface level clean. Things weren't replaced and not all the rubbish was collected. Amenities We paid for breakfast and there were enough options. The bar had a good selection of Belgium beers on offer. There is a swimming pool outside that looks maintained but there is no safety fence around it so if you're outside in the bar area or in fact anywhere in the entrance area of the hotel you have to watch your children as they may accidentally walk into the pool.

Great location, great and helpful front desk, but house keeping was rather unclean / weird. I was still getting ready to leave my room, wearing my winter jacket and shoes etc, when the house keeping just entered the room and started cleaning the room straight away without giving me a little privacy before i leave. I was very uncomfortable and confused at that moment.
