This hotel is perfect for those arriving by train as right across the road from the main station, probably the closest hotel. Several places to eat and drink if arriving late as I was, though it's a decent walk to all the main sites, prob 1.5 km, but as it's so close to the station there are multiple tram and bus options. Didn't have breakfast there as was 19 EUR which is very expensive for a buffet breakfast. Rooms were nice and modern, although something very weird. My bed was vibrating, the same as you experience when there is music with a heavy bass underneath you. Fortunately there was another single bed in the room so I swapped and all was fine. I still can't explain it :) But would highly recommend if coming by train, especially when there for 24 hrs like I was, but if staying several days you may want to stay somewhere closer to the old town.

The hotel is in a great location, being an easy walk to many tourist attractions. Our superior room was of ample size, but had lots of unused space. The full length windows opened onto a faux balcony which offered views of the clock tower, the nearby square and interesting buildings. The bathroom was small, but serviceable. As a Titanium Discovery member, I was given a nice plate of cakes, a bottle of water and a room upgrade. Staff were friendly and efficient. Pre-stay emails were responded to promptly, questions answered and requests granted. Breakfast was fine with a good selection of cold cuts, bread and bakery items, juices, food warmers with the usual offerings plus eggs to order.

The interior design is outstanding, it truly feels like a place. Not all rooms are the same, but there are special rooms (for example the Archduke Maximillian room) which are incredible. The place is spotless clean, internet is very good, the bed and pillows are perfect. Location is in the main square of the old city, hard to find a better spot. Overall it feels like you are in the Sound of Music. Staff was great, especially Daniela Demmel who understands guest and their needs and immediately finds a solution for every need. Loved the experience and highly recommend the hotel.

Sono arrivato molto presto la mattina e mi hanno subito assegnato una stanza, senza sovrapprezzo. Attaccato alla reception si trova un bar con un ampia scelta di gin di tutti i paesi dove questa catena di alberghi è presente. La mia camera dava sulla piazza principale, di per sé assai trafficata, ma l'isolazione delle finestre è ottima e non si sente quasi niente. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo (ho pagato 120 euro). L'unico neo: la camera era piuttosto piccola. Ma pur sempre grande quanto basta

During our three-night family stay, we found several pros to highlight: - The hotel boasts a fantastic location. We enjoyed the pool and sauna facilities. - The service provided was commendable. - Our room and restroom were both spacious and well-maintained. -The on-site restaurant offered excellent dining. -The presence of a pleasant garden was a bonus. However, there were some drawbacks to consider: -The breakfast, albeit costly, was only average in quality. -Families with children might find the pool less suitable. -The sauna's limited opening hours (starting at 17:00) might not suit everyone. -Note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. - Strange smell from AC in the last day In conclusion, despite a few minor downsides, I would certainly recommend this hotel based on our experience.

My family and I have been on travel for two months and stayed in 20 hotels. The Mercure Graz City is near the top of the list of our favorite hotels for this trip. From the service at check in through our check out, it was perfect. Great location, nice rooms, good breakfast, and convenient parking made this a ”we need to return to this hotel” event. I want to especially commend and thank Stoyan Yoroanov and Lily Nagy, front office, for their attention to detail and responsiveness.

Check-In Zeit wird als 13:00-20:00 angegeben. Tatsächlich konnte das Zimmer erst kurz vor 18:00 bezogen werden. Das lag nicht an der Reinigungsequippe sondern an Rezeption/Management, die dem früheren Gast die Belegung des Zimmers bis 17 Uhr erlaubt hatte (statt nur bis 12 Uhr). Der Wunsch des bisherigen Gastes ging also zu Lasten des neuen Gastes. Die Begrüssungsgespräche um 13:45, 17:25 und 17:50 sind entsprechend etwas gespannt; ein freundliches, warmes ”Willkommen” ist anders. Beim Auschecken wird noch eine Taxe fällig, obwohl die Rechnung ja schon beim Buchen belastet wurde. Das hätte man auf der Reservationsbestätigung oder sonstwo oder allerspätestens beim Einchecken erwähnen können. So ergibt sich beim Verabschieden eine unangenehme Situation in Form einer Diskussion mit einem trägen, brummligen, offenbar sich gestört fühlenden Rezeptionisten. Die Auststattung des Zimmers ist voll in Ordnung: Wenn die Badewanne als Dusche zu verwenden ist, wäre ein robuster Haltegriff für die Sicherheit beim (glitschigen) Aussteigen von Vorteil. Zur Lage: in Fussdistanz zum Bahnhof, gut erreichbar mit Tram, nicht allzuweit vom Zentrum, entsprechend etwas (aber nicht wirklich viel) Strassenlärm bis 24 Uhr und ab 5:30.
