We and another couple came to GTO for Festival Cervantino and chose this hotel due to its proximity to Teatro Juarez and centro. Little did we know that immediately next door is the Grill Night Club, open 4-5 nights each week until 5:00 am. The thumping house music shook our room, and it was impossible to sleep -- even with ear plugs. One friend even tried sleeping in the bathroom floor, further away from the club, but that didn't help. He refused to stay a second night, instead returning home to San Miguel in a private car AND throwing away his ticket to a Cervantino event for that evening. We spoke with the front desk about why there is no noise curfew, and the receptionist replied, "They are very rich." That's it. I later wrote the hotel management and they replied that it was only a Cervantino problem -- with clubs staying open later than normal. That's factually incorrect. There are TA reviews commenting on this situation dating back to 2015. I wish I had read htem. The website and social media pages for the Grill say they are open til 5am year around -- and have been for decades. The management promised me that someone from the hotel would call me last Monday. They never called or tried to make amends, so I am writing this review. Whether other aspects of the hotel were good is irrelevant -- this was the most heinous hotel experience ever. Don't make the same mistake.

Has a good location, nice bdg and accommodations in room. Initially received smaller rooms than booked (staff corrected this after we notified them) Master Suite is located on high 3rd floor. No elevators. Caution if you have difficulty with stairs. The "Free Parking" is 20 from the 30 minutes hotel. A taxi is needed to/from. Room contained 1 L bottled water for 2 persons for coffee prep and drinking. Charged for additional water. For prices one can do better in Guanajato.

Beautiful small hotel with a really welcoming staff that puts you in the center of Guanajuato. Our room was on the front corner right next to the club. We also stayed Friday and Saturday. But we always travel with ear plugs and a portable white noise and to be honest, the bed was so comfortable that we managed a good night’s sleep. A room away from the club would certainly be something to ask for. We had breakfast both mornings and really enjoyed the food. Definitely try a cafe de olla, although the cafe americano is very good. Many thanks to the welcoming staff in the restaurant, front desk amd kitchen. We highly recommend this small hotel.

Podria decir que es unos de los mejores restaurantes que hemos tenido el gusto de conocer. El servicio es de diamentes y estrellas. Don Charly tiene bien definido lo que es la atencion a clientes…Todos son muy atentos y super amables. Como en casa y estar con familia. El lugar esta bonito, limpio y super centrico. El desayuno RIQUISIMO! El desayuno Alonso esta de primera. Tortilla a las brazas frijole ***** y chicharron prensado. El cafe de la hoya buenisimo. El jugo de naranja con guayaba tambien. El brownie si es que alcanzan es de los mejores del mundo! Carlo nos dio un poco de historia del lugar muy interesante. La verdad no pueden venir a Guanajuato sin llegar a ALONSO 10!

Estuvimos desayunando en el hotel, muy buen servicio por parte de su personal y el desayuno estuvo delicioso, nos mostraron las habitaciones y están hermosas; el hotel está super cerca de todo lo turístico.

Tuvimos problemas para llegar al estacionamiento por que el portón no tiene letrero y estaba cerrado, no está padre que esté lejos del hotel. Pero por otro lado el personal del hotel muy amable, el lugar muy bien ubicado, limpio y el desayuno muy rico. La panadería es exquisita. Recomiendo los roles de guayaba. Como tip del estacionamiento el portón es cobre oxidado y está justo antes de un portón gris de la universidad de Guanajuato.
