Great location -- 10 minutes from the airport, and considering the absolutely horrible traffic in Guatemala City we were truly grateful to be so close. And the buffet breakfast at The Market (the main dining venue for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus cocktails on Sundays when the Maya bar is closed) was excellent! And it offered a variety of Guatemalan foods on the buffet. Great way to try a variety of local dishes and still have familiar foods as a back up. Wait staff were extremely attentive. Breakfast started at 6:30 am and thanks to it being a buffet we were able to get in and out in time for our 7:00 am pick up for a tour. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, the windows sound proofed (especially important because you're so close to the airport). There is no concierge to assist you, so you have to rely on finding an available front desk clerk. Often we found we'd have to wait 15+ minutes for people checking in or out. And the front desk was not very good at recommending anything more than ”closest shopping mall with full range of restaurants.” They offer a ”dedicated” private taxi service for airport runs. We had arranged for pick up and it never came. Turned out fine -- after waiting 25 minutes for the ”no show” we got a taxi for 1/2 the price. Arranged for a transfer TO the airport upon departure because at 5 am it was the most reliable option -- and the driver arrived 10 minutes early so we didn't have to worry. Overall we were pleased with our stay. Nice hotel in a great location -- within half a block of the Westin, Holiday Inn, etc etc. -- ”the” place to be (Zone 10). Safe to walk around at night, etc. And, there's a great gift shop offering quality Guatemalan clothing, crafts, chocolate, etc.

Very pleasant experience overall. I needed help with arranging many details and staff were very helpful! The room was exceptional, although there was only shampoo and lotion, no conditioner, but the shower was hot and the pillows were soft! I felt very comfortable and safe and would definitely stay here again.

This was a very convenient overnight stop before an early morning flight. The staff were great and arranged to-go lunch boxes and a taxi for our 3:30am departure to the airport which was only 10 minutes away. Lots of western and fast food options within a five minute walk including Applebys, TGIF, MacDonalds, Burger King and Pappa Johns. Lots of other hotels in the neighbourhood, but Best Western offered the best price for our overnight purposes.

If i can give 10 out of 5 stars I would!! The hotel staff is kind, welcoming and friendly! My room was perfectly cleaned daily! Yes, in the states we would think that it's not a big deal but trust me, it's a BIG deal when you travel through Central America. Coming back to the room that is perfectly cleaned after a long day of discovering the country is a rewarding experience! Thank you to everyone in the hotel to make my stay so comfortable!

Not suitable for business travelers more for tourists. Unable to conduct meetings in the public areas (business , lounge, or patio). If you plan to relax or have a casual business discussion it will be very difficult. My clients (locals) and myself repeatedly asked for the music to be turned down, even slightly. We were told by the staff it was not possible as per management policy. It was to create an atmosphere to attract street business to the bar. The patio was impossible to sit out on as the large speakers are directly over your head. There are better hotels in the area which are more suitable. Best for tourists for a stop over.

I only stayed at the hotel briefly due to a late flight arrival and an early flight the next day. However, the room was decent and it was close to the airport which was all that mattered. When I checked out in the early hours of the morning there was no staff to check me out so I just gave the key card to the security.

The Good-- LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.. Fontabella Hotel is located in the middle of zone 10, on top of a great shopping area, with multiple restaurants, and near everything!! The BAD-- We stayed twice during our trip. Both times we were given room 306 and both times we complained and were told the hotel was full and they could not change it. The room smelled AWFUL. Our bedroom faced towards the shopping center and we had what was probably a karaoke bar making noise every night until 1 am. The hotel did not have maid service during holidays (November 1st) and Sundays!!! The UGLY-- checking out.. basically they harass you to leave your room early. We will not stay there again.

My room had 3 double beds with a sofa and a huge TV. The view was straight into the Courtyard Marriott across the street. However it was very comfortable. There are dozens of restaurants within walking distance. the Oakland mall and Dollar City are about 15 mins walk from the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights. I was assigned room 304. Service - Everyone I interacted with at this hotel was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Some speak limited English, but it is fun to learn Spanish, so I like that part of it. Wait staff in the restaurant were all great. The security staff (always stationed outside of the front entrance to the hotel) were also great. Room - Room was large and super clean. Quiet. Super comfortable bed. Mini refrigerator. Safe. Great working AC. It made the room freezing cold, which I love. Great curtains that completely kept the room dark when sleeping in. Wi-fi was reliable and fast. Room did not have a view. Bathroom was fine. Adequate counter space for your toiletries. Shower water temperature got and stayed very hot and the water pressure was great, which I love. Hotel Information - The hotel has 109 rooms and five floors. Decent size lobby, with an ATM, little pantry for snacks and beverages near the front desk, restaurant / bar, business center, and fitness center. I did not have a rental car, so I am unable to comment on parking. Free breakfast buffet for Hilton Diamond members. Breakfast buffet was excellent with tons of fresh fruit, three fresh juice options, tons of hot and cold items, made-to-order omelets, etc. Due to COVID-19, they serve it to you, but it is AYCE. Location - I loved the location of this hotel! It is located in Zona 9 (one of the safest zones in Guatemala City). It is located one block off of Avenida La Reforma (one of the main boulevards in Guatemala City that separates Zona 9 and Zona 10). You can walk to restaurants (almost every US chain is within walking distance - Applebee’s, Burger King, Carl’s Jr, Chili’s, Cinnabon, Dunkin’ Donuts, KFC, McDonald’s, P.F. Chang’s, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Subway, Taco Bell, and TGI Fridays). Great shopping malls are within walking distance (Avia Mall and Oakland Mall). Oakland Mall is beautiful, huge, and four floors. La Aurora International Airport (GUA) and Zoológico La Aurora are less than 10 minutes by car. Plaza España, Plaza Obelisco, and the many gardens, monuments, sculptures, and statues on Avenida La Reforma, Avenida Las Américas, and 7A Avenida are within walking distance. Most of my tours did not pick up at the Hilton Garden Inn. They only had three hotel options for pickup. One was The Westin Camino Real, which is only two blocks away in Zona 10. I used that hotel as a pickup and drop off for my tours. It was convenient. I highly recommend this hotel if your travels take you to Ciudad de Guatemala!
