Forest Face Lodge

This was my first accommodation during my 3 weeks trip through Sri Lanka. It's the best place I've been in during this whole trip in terms of design, build quality and service. Danushka is a construction engineer and evidently put a lot of thought in this project. Everything works really well and the interior design is warm and welcoming, yet modern. His wife Malika manages the property, besides being a math and English teacher, and communicating with her is a real pleasure. DO take the cooking class, which is led by her and her mother. They're doing this with a lot of passion, a lot of attention to detail, and the whole presentation is as charming as it is instructive. Well, and the results are delicious! Prices for regular meals are very fair, too. The place is about 3 km out of Kandy, so it's really calm and peaceful, and when I got up around 6 am and sat on the balcony, I could see monkeys parade through the forest. Highly recommended!

Absolut stunning place! We stayed here for 3 nights. Calm and relaxing place, animals and jungle in front of your room. The hosts are super kind and friendly. The house is like a hotel, super clean, beautiful rooms and the service is top. Breakfast sri lankan or english. You can have a few sri lankan options for dinner. It is delicious!! You need a Tuktuk to go to Kandy and back. It is a 10-12 min ride. Very recommended. Would come back!

This is one of those places which stands out in many ways. The room is perfect - clean, comfortable and spacious. The balcony overlooks a river and lush trees which attract monkeys and birds....a peaceful and calm environment. The host Malathi, her dad and staff are very friendly and helpful and do their best to make it a comfortable stay. The in house menu though limited is worth trying. Both Uber and PickMe is available for convenient rides and food deliveries. Will definitely come again and recommend it without hesitation.

We had a wonderful stay at Forest Face Hotel. The room interior was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, and the warm welcome from the friendly staff made the experience even better. The price was reasonable, and the calm, serene environment, along with the stunning views, made our stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommended!

December as a solo traveler, and it was an incredible experience. Kandy is one of the most beautiful destinations in Sri Lanka, offering breathtaking views, and this lodge truly complements its serene surroundings. The lodge itself is calm and peaceful, making it a perfect getaway for relaxation. The rooms are extremely comfortable, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. One of the highlights of my stay was the live cooking sessions organized by the lodge. It was fascinating to watch the preparation of traditional Sri Lankan dishes and then savor their authentic flavors immediately after. This unique experience added a special touch to my trip. I highly recommend Forest Face Lodge to anyone visiting Kandy, whether you’re traveling solo or with company. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and tranquility!

The best lodge I've ever been to. Spotless bathrooms and comfortable room made our stay a very pleasant one. The modern setup of the room made us more comfortable . The view from the room is enchanting and the staff was very friendly and supportive. I recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a lodge to stay in Kandy
