I came to the hotel for a visit in October 15 - 17. The Meeting room we reserved, deck 8, had an amazing view over the harbor. The catering during lunch and the breakfast was average (very little options for vegan and vegetarian breakfast). the service during the conference was terrible - the coffee breaks were never served on time, although the staff was informed about our timings 2 weeks in advance. As I was organizing the conference, I had to make sure every day 30 minutes before the coffee breaks that the food and the hot water / coffee would have been served on time. This is unacceptable. more than once the staff forgot to serve the food and the drinks, with my participants staying hungry. The organization was very poor in this sense. The room were clean (very small, I had the sea view) and the personnel was nice.

Vacuum flashing toilet makes it so unbearable to sleep at night. No air conditions - rooms are very hot in the day.

Lovely looking hotel but slightly flawed. The building is shared and the reception is on the 8th floor and the room was on the 4th floor therefore, a bit frustrating. My room faced the inner courtyard and a little dark, the toilet seat was loose but usable. The bed was comfy but the room was extremely hot without airflow or air-conditioning, sleeping was uncomfortable and interrupted. Staff were nice though and friendly. Breakfast was a selection quality and selection. Location great.

Rooms are pretty good but lack of AC can mean very warm rooms during warm weather. Breakfast is well provisioned for and readily available.

If you want to book a room with guaranteed harbor view you must book the „mehr-sehen“ category. The rooms are mailt super tiny (worse than New Yorker or London standards) and the bathrooms work within special vacuum system (like on cruise ships. The view is why I book it repeatedly but the missing ac and the not working super cheap ventilators are not at all a help. I had a room with a massive spider plague. The night attendee didn’t let me change rooms only invited me for a drink. Have to talk to the manager in the morning. I would not recommend going there unless it’s in winter

We stayed in a suite this time, great views of the Elbe and habour. The bar also has the same views, top and prompt service and well mixed cocktails on offer there. In general, all staff we met or spoke to were friendly polite and welcoming. The code system for the rooms seems long-winded but you get the hang of it. Room was spacious, that of our friends even had window seats. We had ceiling to floor windows, so not complaining either ! The water system is loud but not too disruptive, bed and pillows comfortable. Breakfast can be taken on the terrace in the weather is good.Close to regular ferry route - best way to get into town from here.

Ok, reception is on the 8th floor and rooms are on the 2nd to 5th floor. I can live with this. Rooms are compact, clean. Bed is relatively comfortable. Issues are, mini fridge is set at an ambient temperature so nothing is ever cold. Rooms have no air conditioning. Or if they do it’s centrally controlled. Can’t really keep the window open during the night. As there’s a busy restaurant on the ground floor. So no early nights. Then you have ships passing from the early hours of the morning. Doors to your rooms have no cushioning so you’ll hear them slamming. Hopefully you’re a sound sleeper. As I was woken twice at 3am. Room cleaning is fine but they don’t seem to replenish, tea, coffee etc. Not the best experience.
