Star Beach Village & Water Park

Hey all, just got back from this place and just to reassure people, we all had a great time. A group of 9 family members ranging from 3 to 79 over the October half term. The site is huge with the reception, main restaurant, a few pools, the entertainment area and the majority of rooms on one side of a service road. On the other side is there are more rooms, more pools, bars, places to eat and the water park. Also access to a number of little beach areas and the sea. The site is what you'd class as a village. Lots of separate blocks containing up to 30 rooms. We had a sea view which was nice. Cleaned and fresh towels every day. 3 beds and quite a large room with a nice balcony. Really comfy bed. A word of warning with the rooms. Depending on what room they allocate you might effect your holiday, depending on what you want. There is a go kart track next to the hotel running until 11pm and there are lots of rooms that overlook it. Also there are lots of rooms overlooking the main pool which is also the main entertainment area so if you want a quiet night this is not where you want a room. Friendly, hard working staff. Never experienced any issues with the staff. Food was awesome. So much choice, fresh cooked omelette, steak, fish. I put on half a stone and I was eating pretty healthily, just lots of it! Snack bar on the beach side doing fresh stir fry noodles. Drinks were good too. Branded vodka and whiskey plus some local spirits and beer. I watched them open new bottles of Absolute Vodka and there were some very very long pours but it still didn't have the effect it would have had in the UK so I'm not sure if it's somehow watered down like in other posts. AI cocktails were good too. Too much ice in everything though. Some of the bars are not on the AI so ask if it's not obvious. Lots of pools with little slides for small kids and the water park at the far end. I believe the water park is having a makeover for 2025. Pools are not heated. Even though it was half term there were no queues for anything, it was quite quiet. No problems getting sunbeds and no need to towel reserve. Speaking of towels get them at the main pool on the reception side of the hotel. If you like to walk then if you stand facing the sea and turn left you can walk along the sea front to the harbour and then back along the main street with all the shops. If you face the sea and turn right you can only get so far before the hotels stop you walking across their private areas. There's a few shops on site and just over the main road opposite the hotel. We did find the entertainment a bit poor but maybe that's just our taste. And the entertainment is around the main pool area and this area is way too small for this size of hotel with people having no choice but to stand as there's not enough seats and tables. The gym was OK if you can adapt your training for your stay. Not how it looks in the adverts. Some of the equipment was broken and dirty. It needs replacing ASAP.

I am currently staying at this wonderful beachfront hotel where we have travelled as 3 adults and 8 year old. I was concerned that my son would struggle with food options as he can be a little fussy however I needn’t have worried as there is a wide choice of food options for adults and children’s food stations with plain food such as pasta , sauces, chips and vegetables . The cleaners have ensured that all areas in the resort are always spotless. The location is ideal with plenty of sunbeds and waterpark has provided endless fun for my son. He has also enjoyed afternoons on the beach and swimming in the sea which was warm even in October. Special thanks to reception who were very quick to help when we had a small issue with one of our rooms . Overall we have had a brilliant time and would definitely return

George and Diana from the main restaurant really made this visit extra special they are a married couple who work together and I had a accident so couldn’t use some of the resources so they planned a day out for the whole family where I could enjoy it and the whole family loved it I felt like we really got to experience the island from a real Cretan family and saw some amazing places we as a family will come back just because of the staff felt more like friends then staff and we will all miss them George and Diana if you read this and you work the main restaurant you truly are amazing and lovely and we hope to meet again x

I was here with my family, we have 2 kids plus my mom. First problem, we had the rooms in 2 different areas, not close. I have asked reception: can we be a bit closer? No, you should have made ''special request''? Ok... Can we do this now/tomorrow? No. Can we pay for this change? No...I had to ask them several times to bring me the bed for my kid. I had some bugs in my room, it was quicker just to tell those guys that are doing maintenance, problem was quickly solved. Not the Greek hospitality that you might be used to get. Otherwise, it was all ok, food was nice.

The pool club was amazing. We came for 2 full days. The pool is great, the chairs and champagne were very nice. The highlight of the place was the DJ. He was one of the best i’ve heard so far. Also the pool and bar personnel was amazing. Overall the entire atmosphere was very pleasant.

Honestly one of the best all inclusive hotels we have ever visited. From the golf buggy to the room on arrival, to the all inclusive remaining available to us all day following checkout on the last day. Excellent location, lovely sea views, and the food particularly in the main restaurant was beautiful. We ate out twice and regretted it both times. Hersonissos is very nice, expensive for drinks (stallis cheaper 2 euro 10 min bus trip) If I was forced to pick 1 criticism it would be that the main pool is not very central and a bit of a treck from the slides, The drinks quality is fantastic with good quality spirits, the rum for example is Havana club which is around 8 euro a glass outside of the hotel to put it in perspective. All staff were happy at all times and so helpful. To sum up definitely worth paying the extra compared to other hotels! Already reccomend to friends and family
