Villa Medusa

I have never experienced such abuse in my entire life! The owner welcomed me by accusing me of smoking in room, according to other guests, he had been looking for me all day while as I was out, telling them that I had been smoking in room, surely smoke alarms would of gone off...I was NOT smoking in room. Came back on 2nd night to find no electricity in room, owner shouted at me saying over again "who told you to take card out" he said he would move me to apartment next door in morning as I couldn't see in the dark to gather my stuff that night. Morning came, I went around to see him saying "good morning Nikos, how are you" he wasn't at all pleasant with me and said he was moving me to a different room other than he said. I took a look at the room & it absolutely stank of Asian cooking, it was dark & dingy, toilet seat was plastic, it had gone a dirty yellow colour & looked as if it hadn't been changed since year dot, the toilet brush was not a pretty sight either, I felt sick. I went to Nikos & said I wasn't comfortable with this room & that if he couldn't change my room, I would prefer to stay in the room I had been staying in regardless, even without electricity. He YELLED & SCREAMED at me like I have never experienced before, I did not expect this as one can imagine, he also threatened me saying "you have not seen me nervous yet". He accused me of drinking because I said "no aircon" when electric failed, he implied I was drunk to ask this. This was absolutely NOT true, I am a social drinker. His office was what I would name 'a cubby hole', when I went there, I saw & heard him with his back to me urinating into what must have been a toilet at the back of his 'office', apart from everything else this was disgusting, he didn't even close the door, I had to move back & sit on the wall while he finished his business & flushed toilet. HARD TO BELIEVE, I know. I was EXTREMELY TRAUMATISED & cried all morning, I was FRIGHTENED of him. I rang the holiday company in distress, I felt very vulnerable as I was a woman supposed to be on a restful holiday on my own. I did not hear back from holiday company, although, I am aware that they rang him, I could not stay there & when I managed to get myself together I booked another place & moved independently the next day. I was still shaky & traumatised but managed to relax at last in the most beautiful hotel, thank goodness I moved because, although it cost me, I could not have stayed there a minute longer. I read a few similar reviews on a different site & his replies are 'non apologetic' & in my opinion 'arrogant'. Telling my story in the near village, people were very kind & apparently this is not uncommon. I'm sure his reply will be as arrogant as ever, however, this is a TRUE HORROR story & I still cannot believe that this happened to me.

Lovely holiday. Visited with friends and had several different rooms between us. Nikos can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. The location is perfect….just a short walk to old town where there are numerous tavernas and bars. All thoroughly welcoming with great food and atmosphere. We will be booking to visit again. Would recommend.
