Queens Beach Hotel

Very nice location with bws on site. The menu at the bistro is one of the best I've ever experienced and the food is just awesome.

Pub run down no atmosphere and food very average. Staff polite and friendly. Food and drinks expensive for a pub. Garlic bread and salt and pepper calamari undercooked. Lobster risotto poor seasoning and bland. Beef Pie was good though. Close to caravan park next door

The room was nice but does look a bit tired, the bed was comfy, staff were pleasant unfortunately the dining experience was very sub par. The bistro was very basic, I have seen better tables in a servo, I was really shocked that there were no menus, we were expected to use our mobile phone to order, this was an issue as we did not have one, we were directed to a menu at the entrance to pick and told to order at the counter, OK, until I went to order at the counter to be told by a different member of staff that I had to order on line if I wanted to pay by card, I explained that I couldn’t do this to then be told I had to go to a different till to order in this case despite there being a card machine attached to the till in front of me, I went to the sports bar and ordered. The popcorn pork belly starter was nice but was not very popcorn like, expected it to be crunchy, the mains were steak and half a rack of pork ribs, the steak was nicely cooked, the pork ribs were however very disappointing, the half a rack of ribs was very small, in my opinion closer to one eight of a rack, not what was expected at all. The jacket potato with the ribs was luke warm and the sour cream dressing being cold did not help. Over all a disappointing experience, will not be returning any time soon.

Great for a drink but the food was average. Asked if we need to book in for dinner and was told yes as they are normally booked out. Arrived to find most tables empty but our table was marked reserved. Staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food was over cooked and not very tasty. Not quite up to the standard pub quality.

Was really looking forward to a meal out after being on the road for three weeks. Location was really great but then things went downhill. Took three open bottles to find enough to make one full glass of wine. Then went through to the Bistro, being an ALH owned site wAs expecting at least some standard of consistency. Ordered the Korean Chicken as an entree which was okay, however then cam the steaks, mine rare and partners medium rare. Both were cold on the inside. We all know that meat should be left to attain room temperature before being cooked, well this just wasn’t the case. When asked by the waitress how our meals were, was hesitant to say anything but when pressed, made the comment about cold steaks. We decided to order desserts anyway, and okay these were provided complimentary, thank you. Also as a side note the male toilets were unclean, and untidy, no hand towel, and smelled as though not cleaned properly that day. We travel ten months of the year and really only leave a bad review when more than one or two aspects grab our attention.

Perfect for what we needed. Stopover for the night whilst driving from Brisbane to Cairns. Car aircon had died so the aircon and pool were very welcoming. Newly refurbished so very clean. Beds are a dream. Bathroom looks dated now that the rooms have been freshened up. Had a pub and restaurant so we had a delicious meal, early night then hit the road again at 2am to beat the heat. BBQ is unusable, rusty, horrible actually. But everything else is ok. Do eat at the restaurant though, food fantastic and staff are all so nice.

After booking another property which was disgusting and walking out, we happened to stumble across this place...what a gem. Rooms were newly renovated and clean and tidy. Restaurant onsite had great food and the Assistant Manager Veronica was FANTASTIC!!! What an asset to this business. Very helpful and friendly, she was great. Overall very impressed with this place for a quick stop overnight

Hi, I wish to pass on my disappointment with the quality of room you provided me with. I was in room 43 last night. When I first entered the room, it had a real musty, mouldy smell. So I opened all the windows and door to air it out while I caught up on a few emails, I then went to dinner and returned the the room at around 10pm. The room still had a bad mouldy smell to it. I got ready to go to bed, and turned the aircon on as it was quite warm. That’s when I discovered why the room smelt so bad. The aircon fins were caked full of dust, dirt and mould. The smell when I turned it on made me dry reach. The noise it also made resembled an old beat up engine driving up a hill. Needless to say I turned it off and had to sleep with no aircon and the smell of mould. When I woke in the morning I was able to see how bad the aircon really was. It would appear that aircon has not been cleaned in years, which is beyond neglect towards your guest. Aircons are a breading ground for harmful bacteria and mould. The health risk this poses to my self and your guests is the equivalent to having rats and cockroaches infesting a commercial kitchen. This led me to look around the room even more, and I discovered how filthy the curtains were, and how bad the floors were. The floors were that bad that I had dirty feet walking around the room even after I had a shower and scrub them. Now I have had some pretty good stays in your hotel and some pretty good feeds, but last nights experience has me questioning whether I want to return. I travel a lot for work and stay in a lot of different Hotels and Motels, needless to say this has taken the cake for the filthiest room I have ever stayed in.
