I booked the queen size room and was surprised how spacious it was. The front desk staff were incredibly kind and then location is right in the middle of Hongdae. I was worried there would be a lot of noise, but I didn't have any problems with both outside or from room neighbors. The showers are clean and there are plenty of shower stalls with amenities. I think my only complain was the one bathroom stall and it being extremely small. The bed is adjustable on the head and feet which is really nice and the rooms have privacy blinds that go to the floor. Breakfast was enough and the cafe is nice.

Staying at Step Inn Myeongdong 1 as a solo female traveler was one of the best decisions I made in Seoul 🇰🇷✨ The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Myeongdong, surrounded by shops, street food, and just a short walk to the subway. I always felt safe coming back, even at night, because the area is lively and well-lit. The hostel itself is clean, well-maintained, and very organized. The female dorms felt secure and comfortable, with lockers provided for peace of mind. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful—they made everything easy, from check-in to giving directions and tips around the city. I also appreciated the little details: free breakfast, a cozy common area, and a welcoming atmosphere where it’s easy to meet other travelers but still have your own space. If you’re a solo female traveler looking for something affordable, safe, and super convenient in Seoul, I’d definitely recommend this place 💯

Shopping - Near Dongmyo flea market (clothing bargain & snacks shopping) - Tomato Mart, Daiso Food - Restaurant just at downstairs opposite & at the corner to hotel Transport - The main road has airport bus 6002 direct to airport, near to Dongmyo metro. Hotel - spacious with price below KRW 60,000 - self check in, wow‼️ - heated floor in room, very warm at night - hot drinking water at lobby - newly open in Dec 2025

The location is very good and it is near lots of food place. The room is very clean and the staffs are very friendly helping us get taxi and showing us the directions. 10/10 honestly!! Don’t have an actual pic of the room but the picture is the food literally opposite on the other side of the road 🤤

I had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the dedicated female area requires a secure code to enter, which made me feel very safe as a solo woman.However, the room comfort was quite poor. I was assigned a top bunk bed, and the room was incredibly hot because the air conditioning had been turned off.The bathroom facilities are located outside of the room and consist of a universal toilet. While the shower itself was okay, the towel provided was tiny and looked like it had already been used.While the security for women is great, the hot room and poor linen quality mean I would likely look elsewhere next time.

Great service! Special thanks to the helpful staff. :) Amazing location surrounding by the choice of restaurants and convenience store opposite to the hotel. I absolutely recommend!

I stayed for the whole week at this hotel. It is a nice small hotel that just 1 station away from Gangnam. Room is cleaned well everyday in the morning, they provide extra water and amenities at the 1st floor so it is nice. Internet speed is very fast and you have smart TV inside your room.

It's only two minutes' walk from the nearest station and has excellent access. There is a convenience store right next to the hotel, and there are 24-hour restaurants nearby, so it's convenient. A refrigerator, dryer, and smartphone charger are provided in the room.(i-phone&type-c only) If there is no staff at the front desk when you check in, you will need to obtain your room number using sns. As others have written, the cleaning situation leaves room for improvement. However, you will be able to stay at a very reasonable price, so I think it would be a good idea to bring slippers and other things to make up for the parts of the floor that are not well cleaned.
