Great place to stay for a weekend, even if the weather is lousy. Excellent room 103, opposite the beach. 2 x queen beds and a lounge and big balcony. Weather was terrible, so we ordered to our room coffee and breakfast, and one night an excellent pizza. Had a few drinks downstairs and there was a great duo band on. Couldn’t hear a thing in our rooms as the sound proofing was so good. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed recently for a major sporting competition that I have attended in the past and have usually stayed at Penrith or Rooty Hill. What a gem Holiday Inn St Marys is! A newish hotel with great rooms and friendly reception. Rooms were on the larger size, with a huge bathroom and spotlessly clean. I usually travel with a power board so I can charge all my devices, but didn't need it, as the rooms have an abundance of power/usb charging points. Great bed and a choice of pllows. Located next door to St Marys Leagues Club with plenty of dining options available. As the title says ”A Great Place to stay in Western Sydney”.

This is an experience!!! The room was perfect and large and comfortable. We did animal view room with a great Koala just feet from us. So cool. The tour of the sanctuary was so fun and the perfect length in time. Having continual access to the zoo was great and we did sections a little at a time as we were coming and going. The breakfast was really nice for an included breakfast. The views are excellent. Utilizing the bus and ferry to go back and forth to Sydney was simple and easy. I don't know if we will make it back to Sydney, but if we do, we will absolutely be staying here again.

It's my second time at sofitel and unfortunately this time it was not as nice as it was the first time. Went there to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my wife and daughter and when we walked in the room and check around we found that the bathrobes were dirty and we also found a nail file from the previous guests which made us think that the did not clean the room, we asked for a different room and they answer was that they were fully booked out and only offered to change the bedsheets and bathrobe. That was fine but I would've liked to be moved to a different room, it kinda ruined our anniversary night. We spent AU500 dollars for a nice and clean room and we totally felt disappointed from sofitel. Next time we will really think about it before booking sofitel.

Pier One Sydney Harbour is a class on its own. Check-in was a breeze and our luggages were already in our room when we got there. We got the room with a view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it was fantastic. It wasn't a floor to ceiling window due to the design of the building, but it was still magical to see the bridge even from the king size bed. We slept and woke up to that view. The room was also spacious and could fit all three of our large, opened luggages, and had the nespresso machine, usual toiletries as well as robes and slippers. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was spotless. Breakfast buffet was ample (although other hotels have more offerings during buffet breakfast) but just right for the price. The Rocks, Darling Harbour and Circular Quay are all walkable from the hotel which makes it a great base in Sydney. Pier One really made our Sydney stay more memorable.

Bedding is extremely old and stained. Felts very itchy sleeping on the bed. Apartment is not well cleaned. Don’t expect hotel like service. There’s no house cleaning daily. Kitchen looks used and dirty. Balcony filled with spider webs. Room smells like a store room. The only good thing is the location and view.

Gorgeous room (: I will give them 5 star hotel. Amazing breakfast all staffs friendly and warm welcome dring was nice.

Excellent location. Located right next to Circular Quay and The Rocks Market, and walking distance to the Opera House. Very good service but the interior is a bit old

The concierge is so helpful and nice. Location: very close to the airport and 5 mins away from the Mascot station, there is a Woolworths (supermarket) nearby so basically everything needed is located around Cleaniness: There is a croacoach inside the Sauna room and spider can come inside the room through balcony so be careful Service: Staff is friendly to help and they are professional

This is an amended review to highlight the ongoing lack of communication from the hotel. It is fair to say that the hotel had some great things going for it but, sadly, customer support is not one of them. Breakfast was excellent and the roof top Aster bar was a great place to enjoy a cocktail and see some spectacular sunsets. However, the whole thing was let down by extremely lacklustre support from the management down. My wife lost her glasses in the hotel. They are prescription reading glasses in very distinct designer frames and were in a sparkly gold box. We asked at the desk during check out if they had been found and were told that they had not been handed in but that reception would check with the Aster bar, where we believe they had been left but was closed at the time of check out. We were due to be in Sydney again in 4 days and the receptionist took all the details and a description of the glasses and case and said that she would email me to give me an update. Sadly we didn’t hear back. Four days later when we returned to Sydney we checked back at the hotel there was no note against our booking and the duty receptionist said nothing could be done but was unable to confirm if a check had been made in the Aster rooftop bar. I asked to speak to the duty manager and an Irish lady, whose name I sadly didn’t get, came out to speak to me. She was very apologetic and said it was not the normal standard we should expect from the hotel and promised to speak to the Aster staff and that she would get back to me by email before the end of the day. Sadly, no further communication was forthcoming and a follow up email to the hotel remains unanswered. We realise that the loss was our fault but the lack of interest from the staff and unfulfilled, empty promises from the management would definitely deter us from staying there again. It would appear that the management have no interest in fostering customer satisfaction.
