Hey Trip Advisor this Motel is in foreclosure with the bank. Please stop advertising it. You’re pissing people off! I booked there ages ago for my father’s visit and it was disgusting. I’m not surprised it shut down. However, people are still able to book hotel rooms and it’s in foreclosure and it’s closed.

Three day stay. Room was fine - clean, everything worked fine. Didn't need the ac with windows open a bit and fan on. Very nice to have a covered veranda outside the sliding doors, great place to spend the evening and watch the sunset. BBQ worked fine. Ten minute drive to Huntsville, same time to Arrowhead. Convenient to Hwy 11, traffic noise wasn't troublesome and generally died off by 11:30. Security in the parking lot was good - well lit and behind the buildings, left our kayaks in the truck with no concerns. Dishes, towels and cutlery were a bit skimpy but we traveled with kitchen/bath supplies so np. The sandy beach is a short walk through the woods. Note - while it is a nice beachy area its on a river with a fairly strong current and the banks are steep. Life jackets on the kids for sure. We'd definitely stay there again, perfect place if you're not camping.

WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP. Our room was one that was said to have a kitchenette. Well it wasn’t much of a kitchenette at all. Basically a counter top with an old fridge/freezer underneath. The fridge was not clean at all and the freezer compartment had about three inches of ice built up in it and there were grooves where cans been in there. They advertise high speed internet. It barley worked. When I sat on the bed, it made a buckling sound. I think it was a metal base with a thin crummy mattress. Every time I moved, the bed would make a buckling sound. TV didn’t work and they said it was temporarily down. Sliding windows didn’t have any locks on them. Don’t waste your money, stay far away from this dump.

The rooms looked like they had been cleaned but were not really that clean - hand prints on the windows, a Cheerio and some pasta on the floor. There was a strong smell of cleaning product and the toilet runs. The parking lot was pure ice and we had to salt it ourselves. The ground floor windows do not close securely or lock. We asked for a refund as we had decided to leave, however we were told no. We asked for some way to lock the window and were told that they were like this by design and not to worry. The location is good. The manager, Jay was pleasant. The female staff member was abrupt with us. Overall we were not happy with our experience and would not recommend staying here.

I was desperate for a place to stay. I am traveling with my dog. The room smells worse than any boarding kennel. I can't say anything positive. Everything in the room was intensely gross! I paid over $200.00! It was a terrible feeling to try and go to sleep with the horrible smell. Do not stay here!

The cottage has a mounting safety and cleanliness concerns including empty alcohol bottles left in and around the property to a physically unusable bath tub and very rude staff We booked 4 days complained when one of us got hurt in their damaged bathtub got refunded 2 days and evicted the same day with them not funding a new room If you want better service with people who care go to the holiday express by the Walmart it will save you gas, time and money
