"The room is clean and location is very convenient within walking distance to many attractions in the city. The buffet breakfast is good value for money and delicious with choices of hot and cold breakfasts. The downside is that the bed is too soft for us. Also unpleasant experience with communication of hotel staff about the offer for a breakfast box in place of paid buffet breakfast which we can decide any time we were back for the day, was denied later saying this should be confirmed before 10pm. There was no follow up call or email despite the documented “unconfirmed” request. Also our request to grab something simple quickly was also rejected saying that it was a sit down breakfast and not supposed for take away. Not being helpful at all."

"The hotel is located in CBD, and we got up grade to higher floor due to our wedding anniversary. We are so happy for the high floor views with sea view and the city views all together. The room is spacious with excellent facilities. We enjoy the atmosphere and the room very much."

"The location is good, near to QVM and also within walking distance to Melbourne Central and Emporium Melbourne. The housekeeping staff service was average as they didn’t bother to top up the beverages or toiletries daily despite us having 4 pax staying in the 2 bedroom apartment for 6 days, we need to ration the usage to ensure we have sufficient for the next day, they only did so after we clarified with the front desk that we are entitled to these items and there is no restriction on the quantity per room per stay. They also didn’t clear the room as the previous customer’s items were still left inside the fridge when we checked in. The front desk staff also treated customers differently, with Caucasian given a late checkout when requested. When we asked them for late checkout, we were rejected outright. They only agreed when we tried asking on the last night and after giving them so many negative feedback during the stay."

"The location of the hotel is perfect - a stone away from shops, eateries and tram stops. Bed was comfy, staff were friendly and gave complimentary early check-in. There was a small gym and laundry room ($8 per cycle) at level 1. The cafe at the lobby level serves the best crossiants."

"I had a bad experience in this hotel. Hotel requested us to pay the deposit and I paid by credit card. When we left and checked out at front desk, the operator had not asked us any consumption or advised us having any charge during check-in period. After a few days, I received debit notice from my credit card. Hotel charged me in room dining service. After checked with operator in hotel, they confirmed that the stuff made mistake and billed to incorrect room. Hotel did credit to my account a few days later. However, I requested to have an explanation on this event by manager. There had no response at all. This is so bad that following happened in hotel. 1. Made mistake that posted the charge to the incorrect room. 2. No one asked us whether had consumption or not during checked-in period and no one told us that there had charge during checked out in front desk. 3. Direct billed the charge to my credit card without checking with me a few days after left the hotel. Or, it should send notice before charged. 4. I received credit notice from my bank account. Due to the exchange rate, I received the credit amount was less than I paid. This is bad that I needed to pay for hotel‘s mistake."

"Returned to the hotel at night only to find out my room door had been left open for the entire day by the cleaning staff. Did no one notice the entire day? Service staff at the counter didn’t even offer a change of room until I requested for it. Told me they’d check the CCTV footage and update me within an hour but that update never came and I had to ask again the next morning. Tried to brush it off with some cheap chocolate, wine and a generic apology card. Mind you anyone could have entered into my room and looked through my personal belongings, stolen items or even tampered with the room the entire day. I’ve travelled a lot and this has never happened. Bad customer service, poor attitude and careless staff"

"Rydges is a great hotel and the location is perfect. This is my second time staying here. The first time, I booked a Deluxe King Corner Room with the church view, that room is absolutely gorgeous. This time we stayed in a Twin King Suite. The view isn’t as nice, but having the beds separated from the sitting area is perfect, especially for the kids bedtime. A couple of downsides: the pool isn’t very kid-friendly if your children aren’t strong swimmers, or if you’re shorter and need to supervise them closely. The shallow end is still 1.2 metres deep. The couch in the room is also not very comfortable, honestly, the floor felt like a better option. We also had trouble getting through to reception from the room phone. We tried calling four times with no answer and ended up walking down, which was fine, but a bit inconvenient. Room service picked up quickly though, so I’m not sure if there’s an issue with their reception line. Overall, still a lovely stay, just a few things to be aware of."

This is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

Very noisy could hear all the neighbours shouting  at each other! And needs sound proofing as could hear everyone showering!!  Clean and great food but don’t get a room on level 10 or 11. Not worth the $$$$

The hotel's location is really good. It's super convenient to get to the hotel from the terminal. The room size is good for unpack & repack your stuff for the trip. Since we didn't have breakfast included in the booking. There are 2 choices for the breakfast: 1. Hotel's breakfast for 35AUD/person 2. Deli cafe. We had a sandwich & muffin there. It's quick and easy to get ready in the morning.

My stay was excellent from the moment I arrived. The reception team was fantastic and allowed me an early check-in, which was a great start . The room itself was well designed — compact and efficient, yet it still had everything I needed. I slept well despite some occasional road and train noise, which was minimal and never disruptive. The only minor frustration in the bedroom was the low power outlets next to the bed; if the bed shifted slightly, they would bump into my charging devices. The bathroom had a few small issues. The basin tap was overly sensitive — even a light touch sent water gushing out with force and onto the floor. The chrome towel rails were too smooth, so towels kept slipping off, and the shower head sprayed at awkward angles. The hot water also made a loud groaning noise when turned on fully, so I had to use more cold water than usual to keep the temperature comfortable. One other small note: when I angled the air conditioning toward the bed, I noticed lint and dust particles falling from the shelves above. A quick clean would easily fix this. On the positive side, the elevators were spacious and fast, and the staff provided outstanding customer service throughout my stay. Overall, these were all very minor issues that could be easily resolved. I found the room comfortable, well-priced, and the service excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Lokasi memang strategik, betul-betul di depan pintu ada perhentian tram, dan kebanyakan tarikan pelancong boleh dicapai dengan berjalan kaki. Semasa cuti Easter, semua kedai dan restoran tempatan tutup, tapi tak apa, kami kan menginap bersebelahan dengan Chinatown! Semua peniaga Cina yang rajin buka seperti biasa, sangat bersyukur, kalau tidak memang kebuluranlah kami! Kemudahan bilik pun sangat bagus, peralatan dapur lengkap, sangat berpuas hati.

Perfect location and an excellent place to stay. The hotel facilities are practically brand new, and both the reception staff and housekeeping team were friendly and professional throughout my stay. I stayed for more than a week and thoroughly enjoyed my time at this serviced apartment. The rooms were comfortable, well maintained, and had everything I needed. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The hotel carpet smells, the building is old and needs a total replacement of carpet. When we entered our room. It smells like bleach everywhere. We have to open the window to make it go away. The room is decent size and the toilet and bath are separated where there are no hand basin to use after using the toilet if someone is using the shower or bath tub. The view from our balcony is magnificent, the Melbourne tall buildings skyline. I also love the location because it is near public transport, free tram and shops, even universities. The kitchen are complete with cooking utensils and pans. They got free coffee, tea and milk. The toiletries were given 1 set of tiny bottles but we are 4 people booked in.

The hotel is v new, just opened recently so the facilities are kinda cool. It’s like half hostel half hotel vibe where there is a common space, gym and kitchen at level 1. The gym is super cool, should check out if you have time, there is small tvs in front which could display exercise guiding video. The kitchen sometimes can get dirty especially the sink there, it might clock and has fly. You generally fill up water at the sink there so you might mind and gets quite disgusted. There is no slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, coffee, tea and water provided in the room. Without slippers, it can be quite cold stepping into the bathroom. The room is quite dark, there isn’t a bulb at the top of the room so it’s designed such that you just get back to hotel and have sleep. You also can’t get light near the end of the room. The staffs said they will do housekeeping for every 4 days so let’s say you stay up for 3 days, no one will come and clean up the room for you. Good and bad. The hotel wifi sometimes will lost connection, maybe there is too many people using, I’m not sure but it’s quite annoying. The shower holder is too tall, definitely higher than 2m, not user-friendly. The location is v accessible, there is a tram station called queen Victoria market nearby and it’s within free tram zone. There is a 7 11 at the end of the street, convenient to grab something fast. If you like Asian food especially Chinese/ Malaysian, there is quite a lot of options you can choose from
