"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. The food was also really good, and the pool area was a nice place to chill. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fun and comfortable stay."

"Clean hotel, small room but well designed. Bed and linens were clean and comfortable. Shower only had one in three bodywash shampoo, which isn't great for hair so bring your own shampoo. You can ask for a hairdryer at the front desk, it has a deposit. No noise, front desk staff were helpful and friendly, everyone spoke English. Subway station was close, 2 big supermarkets close as well."

"You can’t beat the location for public transport convenience: Barmbek subway and S-Bahn as well as bus hub is directly beside the Intercity Hotel and its just four stops from Hamburg Airport. I liked the breakfast buffet very much, as it’s a typical German style breakfast: müsli and cereal choices as well as fresh vegetables and fruit and different kinds of grain bread, eggs, pancakes… Be aware that the rooms are very clean upon arrival however; you will need to order cleaning DURING your stay a day in advance. It’s free, of course, but as part of their environmentally conscious program they provide cleaning on demand during stays only. For me, that is a BIG PLUS as I try to travel green."

"Wir waren als Paar dort da wir ein Konzert gebucht haben, die Nähe zur Barclays Arena und zum Stadion ist fußläufig gut zu erreichen, daher ist das Hotel für solche Events sehr zu empfehlen. Das Hotel verfügt über 6 Etagen, wir hatten ein Business Zimmer , das Zimmer war jetzt nicht sonderlich groß, einfach ausgestattet ohne viel Schnickschnack oder Dekoration , für einen Kurztrip aber absolut in Ordnung. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, TV war auch recht groß, Badezimmer mit großer Dusche. Steckdosen sind bereits USB Anschluss ausgestattet. Der Service an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich, Check in schnell und unkompliziert auch per Self Check in möglich. Frühstück kann ich nicht beurteilen, hatten wir nicht gebucht aber der Kaffee war sehr lecker. Parkplätze sind begrenzt vorhanden aber wenn man Glück hat kann man auch an der Straße auf dem Seitenstreifen parken. Ich würde dieses Hotel wieder buchen."

"Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Novotel City Alster Hamburg. Die Lage ist wirklich top – direkt an der U1/U3, sodass man super schnell überall hinkommt. Besonders begeistert hat uns das Frühstück: große Auswahl, alles frisch und sogar eine Pancake-Maschine 😄 Trotz eines sehr gut belegten Hotels gab es keinerlei Wartezeiten – das war wirklich beeindruckend! Unser Zimmer war angenehm geräumig und absolut ausreichend für uns drei Frauen. Kleine Abzüge gibt es für Details im Bad (etwas Staub auf den Fußleisten und ein verkalkter Duschkopf bei der Regendusche) sowie gelegentliche Wartezeiten an der Rezeption. Insgesamt aber ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt – wir würden wiederkommen!"

"Отель находится рядом озером. Есть где прогуляться заняться пробежкой. Вечером на озере с отличным видом можно поужинать. Сам отель удивил спокойным чистым но ером в дополнительно зданни с балконом во внутренний двор, но в номере нет ни холодильника ни столовых принадлежностей. Есть халаты и тапочки. В общем можно рекомендовать если район устраивает (15 минут пешком до главного ЖД вокзала)."

"Well.. Do you really feel comfortable? Yes, the building (a&o Hamburg Reeperbahn, formerly Hotel Stern, address Reeperbahn 152/154) actually has a connection to the Nazi era - it was not a direct concentration camp or large concentration camp, but it was used as a forced labour camp in 1940. The exact connection (based on historical sources): • The house was built in 1891 as a Logierhaus Concordia - a cheap lodging house for poor men (e.g. Sailors, travellers without a permanent residence). It had 235 small single rooms, shared toilets and was typical for the rough harbour and red light district of St. Pauli. • In the Nazi era (especially from the 1930s), the house was often used by the porters (caretakers) to denounce (advertise) guests. Many men (e.g. B. homosexuals, ***********, ”asocials”) were arrested there and imprisoned - this was unfortunately common in Hamburg's ”Kiez”. • From August 1940: There was a forced labour camp of Deutsche Werft AG (a large Hamburg shipyard). The company used the existing building as accommodation for forced labourers - prisoners of war (POWs), civilians deported from occupied countries and from 1944 also prisoners from concentration camps (concentration camp subcamps). The shipyard had several such camps (mainly in Finkenwerder and harbour area), and this one in the Reeperbahn was one of them. Exact numbers (how many people, conditions) are not well documented, but it was part of the huge system of forced labour in Hamburg (a total of 400,000–500,000 people affected). • A Stolperstein biography mentions e.g. B. that a French woman had to perform forced labour in 1944 as a kitchen assistant in the Reeperbahn 154 Foreign Home (during pregnancy) before she came to another camp. After the war it became a normal tourist home again, converted into an Eros Centre (a large *******) in 1964, later refugee accommodation (in the 80s very dilapidated), then from 1999 Hotel Stern and 2009 a&o. Well. We had a real good sleep anyway. The Bath Room is so warm and the elevator was real… you will see…. Danke ;)"

"Was soll man groß sagen.....es klingt im ersten Moment spannender dort zu wohnen als es dann am Schluss ist. Es ist ein typisches Hipster-Hotel, alles cool, alles lässig, wenig praktisch, noch weniger professionell! Der Weg von ganz unten aufs Zimmer ist immer eine Weltreise, außerdem hat man durch die vielen lieblosen Baustellengitter und rotweißroten Plastikabsperrbänder das Gefühl sich auf einer Baustelle zu bewegen. Die Zimmer sind modern, aber wenig zweckmäßig und kühl. In unserer Suite konnten wir nicht einmal ein Fenster einen Spalt öffnen um zu lüften, auf meiner Bettseite gab es keine Ablage für Handy und Co., Bad für eine Suite winzig ohne Ablagemöglichkeit, der überdimensionierte Fernseher versperrt die Sicht auf den ansonst tollen Ausblick, usw. Zusammengefasst: Einmal kann man das machen, muss aber nicht sein. Es gibt bessere Hotels in der Umgebung, praktischer sowieso, günstiger auch noch dazu."

"We stayed at your hotel for 18 nights in total as we were visiting our son and his family for the Christmas holidays. He lives nearby so this hotel was VERY convenient. The housekeeping was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot water and pulsating shower in the bathroom. We were disappointed that there was not a coffee maker/kettle in the room. We were also rather disappointed that the full breakfast buffet on a couple of occasions did not have the hot items readily available. We were able to order individual servings of such items but it was not the same as being able to freely pick and choose what we wanted. We also noticed that the hot drinks that were dispensed from the machine were NOT hot at all and just merely warm. The front desk staff were friendly and courteous at all times. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit our son in Hamburg."
