Check-in experience was a bit unpleasant when we arrived earlier (we knew we were early and weren’t requesting for early check-in). One of the male staff was quite unfriendly and kept repeating “no early check-in” when we were just asking whether we could store our luggage before check-in. He seemed quite impatient throughout.
However, the rest of the staff were good, and even lent us a knife and cutting board to cut the melon we bought. Location is great, right beside the morning market, and only about a 7-minute walk to the JR station. We came during spring so the walk was totally fine."

"This is definitely my favorite hotel in Hakodate! The hotel is stylish, modern, and feels brand new. We stayed in the tatami room, which was incredibly comfortable for our family of five. The room was spacious and even had a dining area, making it perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious Japanese and Western dishes to choose from. The onsen was another highlight of our stay—clean, relaxing, and definitely a must-try!
Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. If we're lucky enough to visit Hakodate again, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for families!"

"Location is great. Exactly next to the market (turn around the building) and JR Station. Parking in the same building chargeable ¥1500/night till 11am (check out). In the same building there is a drug store (Daikoku - reasonable price, cheaper than sapporo) & seafood supermart for those wanna pack for flight. In the market, lots of seafood restaurant & price is cheaper than Otaru or Sapporo. Bedding is good & clean with upscale conditions."

"I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is perfect, being conveniently situated right within the JR station. The room was spacious and offered a great view, and the public bath was a lovely way to relax. I also appreciated the unique ”pillow corner” where you can choose your preferred pillow for a better night's sleep.
One helpful tip for future guests: if you have any requests or queries, it is much easier to go to the front desk in person. The staff are wonderful, but most do not speak English, which can make it difficult to communicate effectively over the hotel phone."

"Location of hotel is quite good. Need to walk 15 minutes from Hakodate Station.
Hotel breakfast provided in Japanese restaurant is fantastically good. Rich variety of local Japanese food.
Service provided by hotel was bad n needed to be improved:
(1) Check in to hotel is strictly starts at 3pm, which is vy late. Most Japan hotel checks in at 2pm n allows earlier check in. Customers needed to wait n queue up in long line to check in. Hotel is not flexible n has no alternative plans to open up check in earlier even though long queues of people are waiting for 3pm. Long queue is blocking the hotel lobby reception too. Worst is that there are a few staffs sitting at reception counter not doing anything to accommodate to crowded waiting at counter. Vy poor service provided by hotel front office reception.
(2) Same thing as waiting in long queue for daily breakfast. Waiting time is too long. Will need the staff to take one by one customer to respective table. There's only one staff taking charge. Will need to upgrade the service by adding one or two more staff to be on duty at the counter."

"I hv requested a king size bed when I booked 6weeks in advanced my stay but they didnt give me a king size bed. The room is tiny with a corridor and separated shower area and toilet. I feel the room design is not efficient and uses up many space which doesnt allow guests to open the luggage. Onsen was good. Their water makes the skin soft and smooth. Because of its hotel capacity there are many guests and onsen area is quite crowded. Breakfast was excellent but they close shape at 9am. You are requested to hv breakfast at either 7am or 8am. That is too early for me. In general nice stay but could hv been better."

"Excellent location in Hakodate, all walking distances from major attractions - red brick share houses, the churches and government houses, morning market etc. Breakfast spread was excellent and the sashimi seafood for chirashi bowls are fresh and delicious. My only complaint is that reception staff can learn to speak some English especially when the hotel is full of tourists from various countries. The room is rather small and crammed even for a solo traveller. The onsen is nice but gets rather crowded especially in the evenings. The lounge area has a beautiful view of the bay."

LLucas2026This is an excellent 4-star hotel to stay in Hokadate. Almost as good as the 5-stars but at the 3+star price. Rooms are big and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is midway between the station and the harbor where most people spend a lot of time and the only Starbucks in town is located.

PPengguna TetamuI absolutely love Hanabishi Hotel — I had the best 2-night stay here. The hotel is quiet with no large tour groups, and I really enjoyed the traditional feel and relaxing vibes. I tried all of their room types, and my favorite is the futon room with a private onsen. The futon is very comfortable, and the room itself is incredibly spacious.
The staff are friendly and helpful, even assisting me with arranging taxi service. The location is convenient, only about a 10-minute drive from Hakodate Airport. I also loved both the breakfast buffet and the dinner set — they truly pampered me like I was the queen of the world.
The public onsen is beautiful and huge. I will forever choose to stay here whenever I’m in the area.

DDemi.9.2It did what it had to do. A bed to sleep in, a bath to bathe in, hot water during the season, very clean and good disposable amenities to use.
For the cost of the stay, its worth it.
However its pretty much away from convenience for people who wants to walk around town after going to the area to take your photos. Its a pretty dry part around the hotel except for the Tax free shop which was amazing.
Further up nearer to Hakodate station is where majority of the Izakaya and food shops can be located after 6pm

The rooms have poor sound isolation and you can hear your neighbours and the room above very clearly, particularly foot steps, which make sleeping difficult.

みみぃまうすHotel is located close to the station so it was easy access from the airport. We checked in around 20:00 and we booked a bus runs by hotel (2,000yen per person) go to Hakodate mountain to see this famous night view. It was the last two seats so if you are thinking to go better to book in advance.
Hotel also runs complementary shuttle bus around the city - easy access to every sightseeing place.
Breakfast buffet was great, they have a little their own inconvenient store in the hotel so you don’t have to go out to buy something that you need. The lounge area was also great. after we took a bath we both and ice cream and we sat down there walking at the traditional sea glasses lamps which was pretty good time.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaStayed here last week during heavy snowfall, and choosing this ryokan turned out to be the perfect decision.
Check-in was detailed and thoughtful. The butler, who I believe was named Junko, spent about 30 minutes explaining the room, amenities, and house rules, using picture cards and translation tools due to limited English, which made the process clear and smooth.
The room was cosy with a beautiful ocean view. The furnishings are not modern, but that is part of the charm, as it feels like stepping back into the 80s or 90s while still being well maintained and fully functional. Heating was sufficient even in temperatures of -5 to -10 degrees. The room was clean, and the bedding was prepared during dinner and folded again at breakfast, which made us feel very well taken care of.
We pre-ordered dinner and breakfast via Trip.com and requested a beef and crab set in advance, which was accommodated. The portions were very generous, and while the food may not be top-tier, it was better than many ryokans I have stayed at.
There is a private onsen available free for the first use for 45 minutes, with additional charges for subsequent sessions. The onsen closes daily at 10am for cleaning.
The ryokan is located in Yunokawa Onsen, about 30 minutes from town. I recommend dining in, as going out requires a walk and staying in allows you to fully enjoy the experience.
Overall, a very pampering stay. Highly recommended for those looking for a five-star level ryokan experience.

TTatiana AnashkoThe hotel is conveniently located, literally about 5 minutes from the station, which is great if you are travelling with luggage. The room had the basic essentials, and the area is surrounded by many restaurants.
However, for the price, I expected more. The room for two people was extremely small: basically just a bed, a very narrow table with almost no usable space, one chair, and a fridge. The space under the bed for suitcases is a smart idea, but it does not really solve the problem, as there is simply nowhere comfortable to sit or spend time in the room.
Another thing I found strange was that there was a Bible and The Book of Mormon in the room. At first, I thought previous guests had left them behind, so I went downstairs to ask, and was told that this was official hotel literature. I found this confusing and unnecessary.
A charger was also provided, but it was not clearly marked as a hotel item, so at first I thought it had been left behind by another guest and that the room had not been cleaned properly.
The hotel provides various disposable amenities, but surprisingly there were no toothbrushes.
Overall, the experience was not great. The location is convenient, but the room size, check-in experience, and some strange details made the stay disappointing.

禁煙可能なお部屋が多い中、喫煙者である同伴者は大変喜んでおりました。
加えて、部屋に残るニオイの対応もしっかりとされており、心地よく過ごす事が出来ると思います。
肝心の温泉ですが、源泉のパワーを頂く事が出来る
大満足の温泉です！
又、入りたいと思っております♪
