The Glen Mhor Apartments

We had a wonderful stay! The view of the river was stunning. The meals were excellent. The service by all the staff was kind and welcoming. We loved the breakfast staff each day. We were easily able to walk to many locations. Our room was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

I absolutely loved this place. Our room was right above the check in which was super convenient. Huge room w/ amazing view. The staff were super friendly. The whiskey distillery was beautiful & the bartenders were very knowledgeable & funny. At breakfast find Elenor, the manager & a highland cow (her words), she has great travel trips & is an incredible person. Find her!!!

Pros: The hotel is at a great location. Food is Ok. Room size OK Cons: Staff is very rude, no hospitality, very bad experience. Bathroom door latch broken. No intercom in the room. No complimentary toiletries If you need extra tea bags or coffee sachets you will feel that you are asking for gold biscuits from them. Check in time 4 pm which is very late. At the time of check in they didnt inform that they take late check out charges after 11 am. No grace time for check out..which is very strange. Just minting money as much possible from the customers. There are other cheaper hotels in the same location, which one can opt. Overall will not recommend!

It was nice to return to The Glen Mhor after 6 years. The accommodation is top notch. We booked a suite and got an upgrade to The Alexander in one of the buildings a few doors away from reception. It was in the ground floor, extremely spacious but cozy. Big bathroom with a walking shower and bathtub. Very good buffet breakfast, with a separate menu for special items such as smoked salmon Benedict 4£ extra charge, of which I think be included. I’d highly recommend staying at this hotel, right on the bank of the Ness River.

Value for money was awful. Badly looked after rooms, inexperienced staff in the restaurant and an overall mediocre experience. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Inverness and very scenic, but look elsewhere for accommodation…

Great views of the river! Lovely large room with a king size bed. Very helpful staff. The town centre with lots of bars and restaurants is a picturesque 5 minute stroll along the river. We had a pleasant walk along the river away from town, exploring the islands on the River Ness.

We stayed two nights in the Glen mhor for a family and friends road trip. Reception were very friendly and helpful at both check in and check out. The rooms were cosy and comfortable with fabulous river views. The only quibble is that the rooms on the ground floor need window sheers to let the light in but gives privacy. The hotel is so well located to see everything in the town and when the sun is shining there are two beer gardens overlooking the river. We are in the waterside restaurant. The food was delicious and value for money. We had a wonderful stay.

We booked a classic double room at this accordingly priced four star hotel expecting a proper room with good facilities. When we arrived, it was quite the letdown. The room is quite small, and the bathroom is something you’d expect in a cheap hostel. The website says this room is “traditionally furnished”, but outdated 80s furniture, a wobbly linoleum bathroom floor and a massively stained toilet aren’t traditional - they’re outdated. I understand not every room can have the best view, but our “view” was that of a wall with the kitchen underneath. This also meant loud kitchen noises till late in the evening, with the accompanying odours and heat. We couldn’t open the window while trying to sleep because of the heat either, and there’s no AC or a fan in the room. We felt like Harry Potter in his cupboard underneath the stairs. Within an hour of arriving, I made a complaint at the reception. The receptionist understood my complaint. For the first night the hotel was fully booked so there was probably nothing she could do, which I understand. But, she said she could try to make arrangements for the second night and she wrote my phone number down. We didn’t hear anything since, although I could see on the website there were better rooms available for the second night we were staying. Why didn’t they do any follow up on this? When checking out, a member of staff asked if everything had been okay. Again, I said it wasn’t. This seemed to surprise her, so I think the receptionist at the first day just threw my complaint in the bin? She said it’s an old Victorian building, so not every room could be the same. Yeah sure I understand this, but you can still replace a toilet or at least have more than one towel rack. And why do they advertise with “beautiful this and that” and pretend to be luxurious, while afterwards they say not every room can be like this. So it’s a lottery then? If they can’t deliver, or if rooms need to be renovated, then do so before charging full price for them. I made my complaint in time, but staff chose to ignore it. Now our stay is over, and staff apologised when we left, but a real gesture would have been appreciated. They could have done so much more. Two stars since the breakfast was nice, and breakfast staff did a good job.

Quaint hotel on the river. Our room was on the 3rd floor of Alexander. We had to carry heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs. The room itself was tiny, but very clean. There was no where in the shower or bathroom to set anything. Dirty coffee cups were not replaced. Inside hallways had a very musty smell. The bright spot was the Waterside restaurant which was really good.
