TL;DR: good food and variety, good service, hike to the beach/ocean, hope you’re an early riser. What I’d expect from an all-inclusive but nothing mind blowing. Info: We spent a week here in mid February 2025. Transfer from the airport was done through JetBlue vacations which was a little difficult to find in the open air transport area but otherwise didn’t take long. Roughly 45 minutes from the Cancun airport. We had a Star class upgrade which has its own check-in desk and a separate cocktail bar which you can make your own drinks during check-in if you like. This is not an adults only all inclusive resort, there is a family side with a waterpark but our group was 18+ so we spent most of our time on the adults only side. Can’t say much about the family side except for what we saw during evening meals and entertainment. The layout of the resort is like a giant V with the main entertainment areas and all access restaurants at the point of the V and hotel rooms and pools along each arm of the V. The beach and ocean would be located at the ends of the arms. Room: King suite with a swim out. The patio does come with a personal cabana for 2 as well as 2 in-pool loungers. The swim-out pool is semi-private and is contiguous with the block of other swim-out rooms along the side but there are high walls that separate each as well as hedges that give privacy from other resort guests. Our room had a double vanity, large shower with a rainfall shower head and detachable shower handle. A small dehumidifier is provided in every room, which is appreciated, but it will be working overtime. We ended up having to empty the water out multiple times throughout the day and night to keep it going but the a/c works well. The decor is definitely old and could use an update but everything is kept pretty orderly and clean. There is a mini-fridge that was restocked everyday with bottled water, Pepsi products, Dos Equis and Coors Light. As part of the Star class upgrade you get a bottle of liquor for your room that is typical of what you’d find mid shelf at a bar (Grey Goose Vodka, Tanqueray Gin, Johnny Walker Double Black, etc). Additional bottles can be purchased for $40 if you’d like. Rooms are decently soundproofed to you’re not being blasted by the sound system at the pool or noisy neighbors if you’d want to take a midday nap in your room. Beach: The biggest gripe I have about the resort is the beach is a long hike in the sand from the rest of the resort. Our room was situated at the very end of the hotel closest to the beach but there’s still quite a hike through the sand and a long bridge to even reach the water. The sand is soft but can get rough and pebbly in the shallow water until you get out into the waves more. Ample seating and shade if desired. If you are wanting to have a destination wedding, I highly recommend Casa de los Suenos on Isla Mujeres in Mexico. My wife and I started planning about a year in advance and were coordinating with the hotel manager/Chris, who is also the wedding coordinator and Robert his assistant. We did not know what to expect when we got there for the wedding with 65 friends and family members, but our expectations exceeded 100 times over. The bar tenders and wait staff worked tirelessly throughout the whole evening to make sure everyone was happy and accommodated. From food to flowers to cake to seating to pictures and the timing of all of the day’s events, (It was Amazing!) We stayed in the Presidential Suite and had the other 12 rooms booked out as well for 5 days. The restaurant/ bar down on the beach “Kin Ha” has 3 pools, GREAT food and service, and allows you to be in a self-contained environment with your group. We can’t say enough good things about Chris. His knowledge, connections and attention to detail made for the perfect wedding for my wife and I.

Pros: Wiliam and Arturo were amazing!!! They were attentive and understood our order every time. They made every meal easy and we were super appreciative. Wiliam even made a special romantic night requested by my partner. It was beachside and beautiful! They played the music we requested and we both felt so special. Cons: the breakfast staff needs some work. They really didn’t understand what we wanted most of the time. They would ask me the same question multiple times and even when I clarified, they still brought it out incorrectly. Often times I’d have to ask for the same thing multiple times (like leche) and each time they acted like it was the first time I had asked. We were let down when one of the restaurants was unavailable, closed, or reserved for a party more than half of our 9 night stay. There was a storm and we were happy to have the restaurant in house so we didn’t have to go out only to find out they had closed both restaurants 30 minutes before we came down. They gave us a letter that the ferry was stopping at 4pm, but no notification that the restaurants were closing at 7pm. When we asked the front desk they said we were notified in the letter. We were not. The letter did not mention the closure. The front desk told us the only thing close for delivery was pizza. We had to go out into town and find a place open. We found one. An inconvenience none the less when you’re paying to eat on site.

Keep in mind - you come here for the beach! However, as frequent travelors of the caribbean we were so pleasently surprised with the service - especially want to give a huge shout out to Cirilo in the bar, Eduardo and Luis are amazing bartenders, Nubar and Jose Sierra in the front. anything we ever needed, they were there. The cevicheria and their staff are incredible as well! the servers are awesome. The food was really good. Just got to find qhat you like. I would stay here again 💯
