Hotel Doubletree by Hilton di Istanbul

Our stay at the hotel had some positive instances and unfortunately more negative occurrences. Positive - hotel staff (bellman and some of the front counter staff were very helpful going above and beyond to assist with our luggage and unloading/loading our rental car) plus the location was super convenient. The older 2 bellmen at the hotel were very accommodating and always tried to correct any issues we had. Negative - some of the front counter staff were confirmed liars telling me there were no rooms in the hotel with balconies (we were finally assigned a balcony room) on another occasion I had to ask three times for our room to be cleaned as the maid service never cleaned our room one day. Also one of the A/C units in the room next to the bed could not be turned off and only blew hot air. The hotel resolution was for us to run the other unit and leave the door to the balcony open. BTW my husband had 8 hour surgery that day and this made his night's sleep very uncomfortable due to the heat. There was broken glass in the carpet in our room which I cut my toe on. When I told the front desk, they did nothing about it or even apologized. The Terrace Restaurant manager is completely ”disingenuous” and very money hungry. He kept pushing a bottle of water on me at dinner which I refused and then insisted on adding the price of the water to my bill. I explained I did not want the water as I was drinking wine and have free bottles of water in my room. After I adjusted the bill myself, he finally agreed to remove the charge. I found him to be VERY fake in all times I saw him in the hotel.

Excellent hotel with a fabulous location next to bars, restaurants and lots of ammenties. Perfect location and I'd highly recommend

Location is perfect to go to the most touristic places (Santa Sophia, Sulthanamed, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cisterna, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazar) 15 to 20 minutes away. The hotel is kind of old but it is well maintained and everybody was very kind and helpful.

OK, so the hotel is in a slightly odd location. It is opposite the shipyards, but is relatively close by taxi to SAW airport, and we chose it for this (not being sure if the trains ran late into Istanbul). I think about 15 minutes by taxi, but we did not go by taxi, we got the red metro from SAW to Pendik (15TL) and then walked to the other Pendik station and got the Marmary line direction Gebze, I think 30 TL). This is quite a walk (20 mins), but we like walking and public transport, and both the red line and marmary line are on the Istanbulkart. In case anyone is wondering, it is fair way out of Istanbul. We were welcomed by Miss Busra on reception who was extremely helpful and allowed us to organise a different room, and also gave us a late check out. The room was fabulous, the best we have stayed in during our 16 night stay in Turkey. We used the pool, steamroom and sauna and these were all excellent. Pool was very good because it was warm. Breakfast was fine, plenty of choice. All staff were very friendly. I would recommend it for people arriving late into SAW who go by taxi. Good little shop 2 minutes away that sells alcohol, drinks and snacks. Thank you to Miss Busra and the team (from the English Mum and Daughter)

We arrived from UAE and had a recent stay with Doubletree by Hilton Umraniye . Warm welcome by FOM Mr. Coskun Pirim , who gave us bigger and nicer room on the 4th floor, which we really enjoyed and wish to say big thank you . As well want to mention special lady Ms. Safiye from Guest Relations - who have made her personal touch and made sure that we having comfortable stay . Very much appreciated and thank you for assistance. Will be definitely back soon .

Warm welcomed from front desk. Room is big and clean. Location is okay, there are a lot of restaurants around the hotel but the activities and tourist attractions are relatively far.

All staff are fabulous especially mr Ahmet sayginli And all receptions people Rooms extremely nice and clear clean Breakfast is perfect And they make good memories for us. Great hotel. Everything was nice. Me and my family would surely choose it again next time we visit Istanbul. Great location for vfs, great service, friendly staff. Good value for the money. Breakfast was delicious. Very comfortable. Thank you!
