Too overpriced!! No Wi-Fi as in all Sama hotels. No mentioned pool. Breakfast was so poor A standard room gave me the sense of hostel but not a comfort

Beautiful stone rooms. No problem driving up here with our 1600cc automatic sedan car ( including the 10km dirt road drive to reach the hotel ) We stayed 2 nights with half board. The location of this hotel is great for those opting for W4 - Summit hike cause the starting point it’s just a stone’s throw away whereas the W6 balcony windows hike is 6km away. The room is clean and they provide a small heater in the room, which is great as the room gets cold in the early morning. We also like the food during dinner. The staffs are also friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the grand chalet, which is actually a rectangular stone room with a patio looking over the mountains behind. Other rooms are tented “glamping style” (not much above a tent accommodation) accommodations. Furnishings and amenities are on the spartan side. For example, there are only four hangers and an old chest to lay your close out. There is also no WiFi available. We were there in winter and the only heat source was a small space heater so the room was a little cold at night, even with the heater running full blast. Buffet dinner was very good. The barbecued camel meat is a highlight (and probably the best prepared camel meet we tried on our tour).

Exceptional place right on the canyon . Stayed only one night as part of a group tour. I had a spacious room. The bathroom was compact but clean and water was very warm. The dinner was outstanding with a great variety of foods . The breakfast was a bit more limited for my taste as I don’t like cooked food in the morning. The only downside to the place is that the rooms and restaurant at this time of the year are cold at night. They had only a few heaters in the restaurant. In the room there was a plug in heater but it was so noisy that I didn’t borther with it. One in the group however had been able to put the airco onto heat mode . There’s no wifi at the camp and there’s no kettle in the room

Quite a drive on a rocky road to get there but what an amazing place! The spatial design integrates perfectly with the surrounding mountain area and natural materials were used for many of the cottages and main building. Spacious rooms with breathtaking view over Jebel Shams. At night, enjoy a total silence. We ate at the terrace but the heaters made sure we stayed warm.

Here’s an alternative way to phrase that: The atmosphere was incredibly tranquil and soothing. The food was outstanding, with the camel meat barbecue being a highlight—absolutely delicious. They even had a movie screening under the desert sky, which added a touch of romance, perfect for couples.

The location of the resort is great, on top of the mountain. The buffet dinner and breakfast at the restaurant was nice, I enjoyed the Karac tea in the morning. Rooms are clean, nice and comfortable, big bathroom. There is a terrasse in front of the room with a bench. As the policy of the resort is "no wifi" anywhere, not even at reception, we decided to read before dinner, the darkness cold temperatures arrived quickly, so we decided to get inside the room to continue reading, however the light was not strong enough to read. There was a TV but all TVs don't work. So we waited patiently for dinner time. I would recommend to revise the policy of no wifi or add more lights in the room. Overall the experience was nice.

Pros: - Great location: beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, and a short (10 minutes or so) drive to the start of the Balcony Walk. - Nice of the staff to upgrade us to a stone chalet with a mountain view! - Buffet breakfast and dinner included. - Clean, quiet, comfortable room (stone chalet) with everything we needed. - Good playground for kids, and plenty of outdoor seating. - Peaceful setting. Neutral: - The breakfast and dinner buffets were fine, I guess especially for being up in the mountains, but nothing to necessarily write home about. - The water in the shower took ages to get hot, so be sure to turn on the water heater as soon as you arrive if you want a hot shower at night. Cons: - There was no housekeeping (we stayed two nights). - We had to ask for toilet paper--even on the first day. Stayed two nights here with our toddler, and probably would stay again. It's up in the mountains, and even in mid-April it was a tad chilly at night (pants and a sweater were fine though, and the rooms come with space heaters, which we definitely used).

What a lovely and unique resort! The drive alone to get there is an adrenaline rush, and not for the faint of heart. The resort is built mostly local material. It has modern touches and amenities while seeming authentically Omani. The breakfast and dinner buffets that were included were excellent. Not a lot of selection but definitely enough, and considering how remote this location is everything was fresh and quite tasty. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The hotel's tagline is "Designed to Make Your Stay Magnificent" and they certainly lived up to it.
