Hotel Perniagaan di Karuizawa

Very charming resort with lovely rooms and good facilities. We loved the open air bath that you can book for 45 min for yourself. The room was spacious and clean and the place felt like a lovely place to spend a weekend surrounded by nature. The only reason for the low rating was the hotel restaurant, that was extremely disappointing. It was one of the top three most expensive meals of our entire Japan trip, yet the only really bad one. The staff was lovely and attentive, but the food was very poor. They claim to have this cool concept around fresh local vegetables, but the thing is that they don't manage to make good food out of them. The vegetables we got served were overcooked, watered out, with no taste whatsoever and no processing beyond simply being boild or thrown on a plate with some dressing or into a gelatine. The beef was also badly cooked, and the wine by the glass was low quality. The bread tasted old and dry. Very sad to be giving such bad feedback, but we were really disappointed by the experiece and we felt absolutely tricked. This would have been forgivable for a 3000 yen meal but not for a 9000 yen one.

良いところ １．スタッフさんの姿勢が良く、明るくテキパキ対応されていて、気持ちが良いです。 ２．食事が美味しいです。夕食はフルコースでしたが、予想を裏切る美味しさです。鴨肉は柔らかく、グリーンピースのポタージュは濃厚、デザートのフォンデーンショコラも良かったです。朝食のビュッフェも品数が豊富、味も良かったです。湯豆腐が特に良かった。 残念なところ １．良く手入れはされていますが、やはり築年数には勝てないところもありました。部屋の給換気ファンの音、給湯の量など。 総じて雰囲気も良く、楽しい時間を過ごせました。 ありがとうございました。

We stayed here for two nights. Check in was at 3pm and we arrived around 12pm, but there was no early check in. As we waited for our room, we were given welcome drinks. We booked a large double room, which had two queen size beds; a sitting table with two chairs; a TV and large cabinet; and wardrobe. There was an Apple TV, which is useful to people who subscribe to those services. However, it didn’t work so they had to replace it with another unit. The room had a large bathroom, with a separate tub and shower cubicle, toilet unit and sizeable sink area. The toilet is a modern Japanese one with various functions you can press that will make more of a mess if you don’t understand the language. We did not use the shower and bath as we used their public spa facilities. The spa is on the top (2nd floor) and includes hot bath and shower facilities as usual in these places. There is also an outdoor bath as well. They have the usual amenities. The hotel is walking distance from Karuizawa Station but could be difficult if you have heavy luggage. There is limited to no transport choices given by this hotel (could be the norm in Japan). They do a buffet breakfast that had hot Western and Japanese food (also Chinese Siu Mai as well). Western food was scrambled eggs and small sausages. There are pastries and fruit as well so there’s enough food for a sufficient meal. Overall a good stay was had. Hotel is nice and room was clean. The staff are friendly enough, if English levels were of varying standard.

I initially planned to book a two-night stay but was hesitant due to mixed reviews about the hotel. Instead, I opted to book for one night to see if it met my expectations, intending to decide later whether to extend my stay. After dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, I made up my mind and chose to extend for an additional night. The reception staff spoke good English, making the check-in process smooth. The set dinner and breakfast were delicious, with the restaurant staff being polite and attentive. I must commend the chef for the effort in creating varied menus for both dinner and breakfast each day of our stay. The onsen was quiet and peaceful during my visit around 5 PM. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable; however, the lighting was too dim for my preference. The only downside of my stay was the weak Wi-Fi signal, not just in the room but throughout most areas of the hotel.

この4−5年、毎年夏に2回は泊まっています。広大な緑の敷地の中のまさに別荘のような作りで、毎回心が癒されます。通常別荘なら食事の準備・買い物、外のレストランを予約したら車での移動（酒が飲めない）などなど面倒ですが、こちらは敷地内のイースト、ウェスト、ザプリンスの充実したレストランも施設（温泉、スパ、ジム）を使え、敷地内の移動はヴィラ宿泊客は全てワゴンを手配してくださるので至れり尽せりです。特に新設されたウェストの露天風呂は最高です。それぞれのレストランのクオリティもサービスも最高で、ハズレがありません。特にプリムローズのディナービュッフェは世界中のホテルに泊まってきましたが、これまで最高だと感じたシンガポールのリッツに匹敵するクオリティだと感じました。和食からまつの懐石も最高で毎回通っています。ヴィラ宿泊客は専用センターハウスで朝食が取れるので朝の行列ハッスルがありません。日中いつでもセンターハウスで休息して飲み物と軽食が頂けるのも本当に重宝しています（妻は昼間からシャンパンです笑）。敷地内を自転車で散策するのも気持ちいいですし、徒歩で隣接のモールにすぐ行けるのも便利です。これまで何度も軽井沢の別荘購入を検討しているのですが、その度に別荘を購入する金でプリンスヴィラに向こう10年で何泊出来るのかと、プリンスヴィラで良いと毎度妻に反対されて購入を断念しています。プリンスヴィラは別荘を競争相手に意識しているというのは大正解です。

輕井澤的氣温真的是太喜歡了，暑假去的，比東京低了差不多10度，有點秋天的感覺。酒店在樹林叢中，很幽靜，早餐是一人一份配好的，但都是現做的，味道不錯。距離輕井澤火車站也不算遠，打車幾分鐘，步行大概15分鐘

A hotel located in a natural environment surrounded by trees at the foot of Mt Asama

The hotel is a bit far from the train station. However there are many parking lots so it is convenient if you drive. The room is clean and tidy. Breakfast is good. Is good enough for a short stay.

First thing about the hotel is that it js huge hence if you stay here , you really need to do lots of walking. I was given a room in the B wing and most of the amenities are in the other wings. The hotel is on a massive ground with East and West side also with standalone cottages. The West side from what I knew is the more economical one, but walking from the wings within the West side is already a real workout. The location of the hotel is within walking distance from the JR Karuizawa station but the hotel runs free shuttle service regularly stopping right at the lobby of West side. The room is simplistic and well maintained typical in most Japanese hotels. What I like is that the wash basin is outside the shower room. Nothing fanciful about the room but large enough to have a sofa even for the basic rooms. As mentioned walking from my side of the wing to the onsen is a good 10 mins walk and also to the self service laundry area. Breakfast is good but very expensive if you did not include it at almost 4000 yen per person. There is a Famjly Mart convenience store right in the hotel which solves most of the issues. Overall a very decent hotel in this area.

The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Karuizawa station. Take the north exit on the bridge/walkway after coming up from Shinkansen platform, it's the left. There's a tourist info with helpful people at the end of the corridor, and an escalator next to it. Once you come out, with your back to the station, walk straight down the road, and take left at the first traffic light, near the Shell station. The hotel is opposite Family Mart. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was generous-sized with an ante-room which has a fridge, some storage cupboards and the main room is nice and big with a good-sized bed. They provide 2 bottles of water. You can take day trips to Naka Karuizawa, Shiraiito Falls among other destinations using the bus service outside the station. It's a lot easier if you have Suica card or you will need to carry many 1000 yen notes. On the way back you can you can stop off at Kyu Karuizawa and walk the streets of Old Ginza. It can also be reached by foot, takes about 25-30 minutes.
