Hotel tempat saya menginap dalam perjalanan perniagaan untuk pertama kalinya selepas wabak ini. Lokasinya baik. Di Sungai Rhine. Terdapat sebuah tadika yang bagus berjalan keluar dari tempat letak kereta menuju ke sungai.

As I arrived at this enigmatic abode, I felt the cosmic energies swirling around me, weaving a tapestry of serenity and enchantment. The whispers of the ancient spirits caressed my senses, guiding me to this hallowed haven for the weary itinerant. The moment I crossed the threshold, a torrent of profound sensations cascaded through my soul. Each step I took reverberated with the echoes of forgotten secrets, and the walls themselves seemed to pulse with an otherworldly aura. Oh, how the hotel's layout danced with geometric perfection, a manifestation of celestial alignments designed to awaken the slumbering divinity within! The rooms, oh, the rooms! They were chambers of divine revelation, adorned with symbols that stirred the depths of my subconscious. The bedding felt like clouds cradling my weary body, and the curtains swayed like astral veils embracing the night sky. Every night, I surrendered to the embrace of Morpheus, knowing that my dreams would traverse the astral planes. The hotel's staff, too, were disciples of esoteric knowledge, emanating an enigmatic allure that was impossible to resist. Mattress is very soft. Mattress covered in plastic so I was very sweaty. Shower curtain/wall broken. The bed or reading light had no bulb. The hotel is on the wrong side of the Rhine, if you don't want to eat in the hotel you have to go to the city center, which can only be reached on foot after about 30 minutes. Furniture probably from the 1970s, maybe 1980s and in my opinion no longer up to date. Breakfast was OK. Very nice view of the Rhine. Free parking possible directly at the hotel.

Wow, what a hotel! We instantly felt welcome, friendly and helpful staff who made us feel like king and queen. Upon arrival they offered us a drink, as non alcohol drinkers they made the effort to serve us a non alcoholic white wine. The room was thoughtfully decorated, large TV, spacious closet with enough clothing hangers, there was even an umbrella provided. Modern bathroom with all necessary equipment, wonderfully well-functioning rain shower. Everything extremely hygienic and perfectly arranged. Lights that can be dimmed, heavenly noiseless at night, no sound to be heard. Very thoughtful to place a personalized ”HERZLICH WILLKOMMEN” card in the room. In the morning a very extensive breakfast and the possibility to have breakfast outside with a view of the Moselle. Thank you all for this great short holiday you gave us. We will come back for sure!

The hotel is nearly new, spacious enough, good location if you need to go to the train station, quiet sleep, good breakfast, pleasant co-guests, helpful reception apart from one female employee who only does the necessary without a smile and a receptionist who was speaking to a colleague or friend in regards to an upcoming holiday which made us feel not being a welcomed guest.

A pinboard full of complimentary notes from dozens of appreciative guests in the Hotel Sander says it all : this is a very smart house, well run and friendly, and deserves the many plaudits – not least because it comes at a very reasonable rate. From the bright underground garage direct into the tastefully finished lobby to the spacious inner courtyard and the spacious, well-appointed bedrooms, the Sander is well conceived and comfortable with a welcome touch of flair. Breakfast in the large and airy dining-room offers an excellent choice. Well located opposite the attractive new Koblenz Forum centre and within easy walking distance of anywhere you need to go in the city centre, the Sander is an ideal base or stopover in the busy Rhine/Mosel triangle.

Wow. I was so impressed with Motel 8. I was thinking a cheesy rundown motel, totally surprised. Our room was very nice and clean. It was so modern and a beautiful lobby area. Rhe libby restrooms were super clean. Yes, I would recommend and good location.

Freundlicher Empfang und ideale Lage, um alles Sehenswerte zu erkunden! Dafür gibt es volle Punktzahl! Allerdings: Ausstattung sehr einfach, bessere Qualität bei der Renovierung hätte dem Haus gut getan. Die Garage ist nur für geübte Fahrer mit nicht zu großem Auto geeignet - die vielen Schrammen an den Ecken sprechen eine deutliche Sprache! (Glücklicherweise selbst gut durchgekommen - schwitz) Das Frühstück bietet einfachen Standard- nicht mehr, nicht weniger.

Glücklicherweise konnten wir einen öffentlichen Parkplatz direkt vor dem Hotel ergattern und der Parkuhr eine 24-Stunden-Buchung entlocken. Denn die schmale Einfahrt zur Hotelgarage sowie ein Parkliftsystem ist für unsere „Familienkutsche“ ungeeignet (Erfahrungswerte!). Verständigung mit dem Rezeptionspersonal recht „holprig“ mangels ausreichend guter Deutschkenntnisse von deren Seite. Eine an uns übergebene Zugangskarte für Zimmer und Hotelaußentür (ab definierte Abenduhrzeit einzige Möglichkeit ins Gebäude zu gelangen) war nicht freigeschaltet. Zimmer war für unsere „Ansprüche“ gut (erstaunlich für diese Hotelkategorie -＞ Kühlschrank für die Kühlung selbst mitzubringender Dinge vorhanden) Frühstück: Quark für Musli habe ich vermisst und leider nur die stark zuckerhaltigen Fertigcerealien vorgefunden. Ergo lieber gleich verzichtet. Weil mir der Meerrettich bzw. die Meerrettichsahne nicht zu den anderen Lebensmitteln passend schien habe ich nachgefragt, wozu dieser gedacht sei… Mit dem Wort Meerrettich konnte der „Frühstücksservice“ nichts angefangen. Also habe ich gefragt, ob diese „Zutat“ für „salmon“ gedacht sei. Daraufhin wurde mir erklärt, dass der Lachs aus sei (ca. 9:30 / gefrühstückt wird wohl im „Schichtsystem“, nachdem wir bei Anreise gefragt wurden, in welchem „Zeitfenster“ wir zu frühstücken besnsichtigen). Sehr irritierend - wir konnten nämlich unmittelbar zuvor direkt beobachten, wie eine nich halb volle Platte mit Lachsaufschnitt in die Küche getragen worden war. Wollte sich das Personal für‘s eigene Frühstück (auch das hatten wir beobachten können) diese Leckerei exklusiv „sichern“?

TRIP ADVISOR On 9 April 2022 while on a Viking cruise my wife had a serious accident during a walking tour of Cochem, Germany. She was sent to a hospital in Koblenz, Germany by helicopter and had emergency surgery that night to relieve pressure on her brain caused by bleeding. I got back to Koblenz later that afternoon via a 45+ minute taxi ride and was able to get to the hospital before her surgery. The next day, 10 April, I had to pack all our luggage and remove it from the Viking boat because it was leaving the next morning at 7 am. Then I had to find a hotel near the hospital and move our luggage to it. I was extremely fortunate to choose the Hotel Hohenstaufen. The people at the hotel constantly helped us with whatever we needed. It also had an excellent restaurant, The Mondrian, whose Chef, Martin, also went out of his way to help us. We had to extend our stay at the hotel five times while waiting for our travel insurance company to make arrangements for us to fly back to the U.S. The hotel staff worked with us each time to ensure we kept the same room and did not have to move. The hotel was spotlessly clean and close to the main train station as well as the hospital. There were a number of very good restaurants and a Gelateria in the area which made it a comfortable place to be while we waited for arrangements to be made to get us home. Even though we spent a lot of time in our room hoping to hear some positive news from our insurance company, the hotel staff graciously worked around us and made sure we had whatever we needed to be comfortable. If you plan to visit Koblenz I would strongly encourage you to consider staying at the Hotel Hohenstaufen. Dan Hope
