Second time staying here, and found it to be a huge mistake. The property is beautiful but sadly is in need of a lot of maintenance and upkeep. Stray dogs roam in and out of the property freely, and the staff is indifferent. The Marina annexe has great views but that’s where it ends. It is perpetually in darkness, and I was the one switching the lights on every evening on both the first and second floors. The rooms are musty and worn out, and the bathroom had the wet cloth smell throughout our stay. The so called entry/lobby of the Marina building is badly maintained, furniture is left askance, no staff, reminds me of college hostels in remote villages. The service room is left open all the time and we get a lovely glimpse of all the mattresses and sheets strewn about on the floor ***** with sundry bits of trash. The beautiful Dutch bungalow is dirty, smelly and the previous events leftovers, dishes, juice boxes and remains lay spread all over the veranda of what is supposed to be a heritage building. Breakfast service was appalling. There weren’t enough chairs inside so we were collecting chairs from outside and bringing them in, while the hotel staff person stood there silently watching us. When we suggested to him that they could help us at least with organising chairs, he said the hotel staff is less 😱. No plates, food was less, we didn’t even bother placing any orders for eggs as it didn’t look like anyone was interested in taking them or whether there would be any hope of seeing our orders. Staff is polite but appears to be mainly focused on attending to politicians or govt guests. Ironic and sad that paying guests are left to attend to themselves, while public servants get waited on like royalty.

The hotel stay was excellent with all the facilities. The staffs were very welcoming and helpful at any time of the day. The staffs were always at help and support. The breakfast buffet was excellent and had varieties of menu, including live stations. Ms. Aswathi was very helpful in assisting as well as supporting at the buffet counters.

I stayed at Abad Hotels when on a recent holiday in Kerala. They were all top-notch & the Abad Plaza was the first. I was here the first night of my tour & found it clean, very comfortable, & efficiently run. The staff spoke good English & were very welcoming; nothing was too much trouble. As well as standard amenities (complimentary toiletries etc), there was even a bowl of lovely fresh flowers in my room! Because I was leaving before the breakfast room opened in the morning, they went to the trouble to prepare a fresh & tasty meal for me to 'take-away'. The only problem I had was the smell of cigarette smoke on my floor & in my room. Unfortunately, despite very conspicuous No Smoking signs throughout the hotel, some patrons persist in breaking the rules anyway & make it bad for everyone else. But the air-con in my room cleared that problem up quickly, so all was good. I highly recommend this chain of hotels; I'd definitely stay here again.

We have taken the family room as we were total 5 members. The room was very clean , it was spacious with balcony too. You cannot smoke in room but you can in balcony. The view from hotel is nice. It is near to Ernakulam town railway station. By auto it will take 5 min to reach at hotel. The food was good , the staff behaviour was very good. They also provide the cab service to munnar and near sightseeing places.

Great place to stay. Rooms : 4/5. Good rooms with all basic amenities what you can expect for a short stay. Good bed, clean linen, clean towels and bathroom. You may not get very hot water; Only lukewarm water because of solar heating system. Location - 4/5. Easy access to Metro, Cab and Auto. Breakfast - We didn't include that in our package. Plenty of options available nearby. Staff : 5/5. Always attentive and supportive. We will surely comeback.

The restaurants receive praise for their delectable dishes and attentive service. The THARAVADU restaurant is a great place to try local cuisine and the VASCO DE GAMA bar is a very characterful old-world pub located on the first floor. A perfect place to catch a game on the Telly while grabbing your favorite drink. ROOM: We stayed in Room 202, which was a SUITE ROOM, so this review is based on that; SIZE: The suite is quite spacious with a separate living room and big bedroom area. The whole suite is tastefully furnished with fine wood, and equipped with modern amenities. The attention to detail in the decor, which incorporates local elements, adds to the overall ambiance; VIEW: Sweet view of the courtyard; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: Very dated bathroom with a tiny Bath-tub shower!; TOILETRIES: Good spa-quality toiletries FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a very limited range of weights(primarily dumbbells) and Cardio machines. SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good!
