Service excellent,villa very big, good lighting,but no light at the bed,so bring a small torch.Good bed.Breakfast good, especially we liked the big choice of fresh fruit juices.Unfortunately the restaurant closes at 6pm, but there are 3 good Thai restaurants next door.No breakfast buffet.You have to order the breakfast for the following day right after your breakfast.Not all people know today what they would like to eat the next day.No deck chairs at the beautiful beach, but enough around the pool.As the way to the resort is quite steep, it is not suitable for handicapped people.We were happy and can recommend this resort.

I hired a road bike from Sanyo Cycle Hire, Akamai Beach, Koh Samui. It’s run by an expat riot from Cambridge UK who is friendly and did a good deal for a 10 day hire. Bike was in good condition and when I got a puncture, they came to the hotel within 30 minutes of my phoning them and changed the wheel so as I would not waste time having to take it to their shop and waiting for it to be repaired. The room I booked was no refundable, but having read reviews I was happy to take the risk. 2 hours before we were due to travel there we received an email to say that their pool was closed due to unplanned renovations. Let’s be honest, this is the hotels only real selling point and the whole reason I booked it in the first place. Disappointed, we had no choice but to travel to the hotel to discuss things with their team in person. Arriving at the hotel it was a mess, almost looked derelict. Whoever took their hotel photos needs a pay rise, put it that way. It was clear that the work wasn’t unplanned, and in fact had been going on for some time. Letting guests know on the day they travel is obviously a ploy to prevent confrontation. We were told that we had the use of a pool at their sister hotel, 15 minutes away by shuttle. This runs every 2/3 hours. Not the fairy tail birthday I had in mind for my son if I’m honest. To compound things, the hotel refused to refund me my money and I had to pay again to stay at a hotel that was able to provide the facilities it promised. Looking back at the hotel, there were clear signs. They haven’t had a positive review since 2021, that tells its own story. If you are thinking of staying here, please don’t. You will end up disappointed as we were

I spend 10 nights in a cozy colourful designed bungalow with a terrace surrounded by a beautiful and lovingly tended garden. The bungalow was climatized with a really comfy bed, room clean up and fresh water every day. Beside the bungalows whole Varinda resort including it’s facilities such as breakfast/restaurant area, pool, garden, etc is absolutely unique and lovely designed by the most friendliest and kindhearted resort owners I’ve ever met while travelling Thailand. Really helpful and friendly staff. I always felt welcome and well taken care of. The resort is just a short walk from the beach, located quietly on a small hill with beautiful greenery and palm trees without traffic noise what promises relaxing sleep. Also the main street of Lamai where you can find restaurants, bars, stores and the night market for food and drinks starts in walking distance or quick scooter ride. Varindas breakfast/restaurant and pool area is overlooking Lanka town and the sea so you definitely shouldn’t miss to enjoy your coffee there in the morning with a fresh served fruit platter (or other fresh prepared breakfast meals) by sunrise. For me this resort is more than just a holiday accommodation, it’s a place where my journey of being part of Thailands lifestyle starts, where you can find rest and simply enjoy life. A home far away from home. I absolutely recommend Varinda Garden Resort and I’m looking so much forward to come back! Sending lots of greetings to Varinda family, Nadine

We checked in late at night, we were taken to our room It was not as expected. We asked for a room change in the morning and they were more than happy to move us While the hotel needs a good cleaning and updating. The beach is beautiful, pool very nice. Breakfast was basic but good.

Had a good nights sleep. The complementary chair lift to observation point was really nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dont expect gyms or pools but it is cheap and worth every penny.

Brand new hotel so was unsure what to expect when we got there. We had the warmest welcome and were told our room had been upgraded for free. First afternoon we met the owners who were extremely helpful with giving us advice on how to get around the island and showing us experiences. We hired a motorbike meaning it was easy and quick to get to places due to the location of the hotel (waterfall, Fisherman’s village). Beautiful setting of hotel on the sea and very peaceful. The service was remarkable when we realised we had left our iPad in the room once at the airport to Phuket. They sent it express delivery to our next hotel within the same day. Only downfall was the restraunt/bar was not open till after 7pm, however I am sure that once they have more customers this problem will be resolved. Once again I can’t explain how lovely and helpful the staff are !!!! Already planning a trip back !!!!
