Lovely, clean, family run hotel. The room was small but modern and the beds were very comfortable. The shower was enclosed, which is a plus in a small greek hotel and the water was always hot and powerful. We had a nice balcony to sit on for a quiet drink in the evening which was furnished with a table and 2 comfortable chairs plus a drying rack. On previous holidays to Greece we have had to pay between 10 and 15 euros for a breakfast buffet, most of which we wouldn't eat, so I dont know why the free breakfast comes in for so much criticism. We were more than happy with the buffet of cereal, bread for toasting plus crusty bread, butter and jams, cheese and ham and boiled eggs. Plus juice, tea and coffee. It is much more than we would eat at home and if you want more it is available from the snack bar breakfast menu for a small cost. It is the family who own and run Zeus that made staying here such a pleasure. They give you a warm and friendly welcome and work tirelessly to make your stay an enjoyable one. We enjoyed our week here so much that we have booked for next year and cant wait to return.

Horror hotel. Dodgy owner/manager. We booked 10 nights on lastminute.com. It said there was air conditioning, safe and wifi. Upon check in we discovered that air conditioning could be used for 7 euros (!!!) per day and the safe for 3 euros per day. Unheard of in any other hotel and not mentioned anywhere before our booking. This only happened after we waited 10 minutes at reception with nobody around, only to find a hidden sign saying ”for *more* information go to the pool bar”. We went to the pool bar, it took another while for the manager to show up at reception. We later learned that there is never anybody at the reception, you always have to ask somebody at the pool bar (when it's open... we never dared looking for someone when the bar is closed). WiFi almost never had internet connection. We notified the manager on the first day. He said the telephone company had a problem in the area due to a power cut and they would fix it by the next day. It almost never worked for our whole stay. The bathroom in our room was tiny: a cube barely 2 meters each side (including height). You had to leap over the toilet to enter the shower and you had to use the sink sideways since the toilet was too close in front of it. On the day we checked in the shower pan was stained. Understandbly, because no one could properly clean it since the toilet blocked proper access. The toilet was stained too. The shower box was super cramped, barely any space to rub yourself with a bathtub faucet unexplainably fitted and bulging out. Flimsy shower doors and a flimsy hanger that could not hold the shower head into position, risking that it fell to the floor or on your head each time you turned the knob. There was a holder for a shower gel dispenser but no dispenser. We asked the manager, who gave us two tiny bottles of shower gel, saying there is no dispenser, but the cleaner would have replaced the bottles when empty. We later discovered that the cleaner had no clue where to find those replacement bottles; she was told to place shower gel only in the ”suites”. The toilet seat would not stay up. The bathroom ceiling rattled when the wind was blowing outside, vibrating and making noise. The bedroom is carpeted. But the cleaner clearly has no tool for properly cleaning it: no hoover, no kind of machine... just a mop!!! in fact the carpet is stained and dirty. The room was serviced randomly: some days we realized no one touched the bathroom and on a couple of days not even the bed was made. The upper bed sheet was narrower than the bed, stained and was changed only a few times in 10 days. The lower bed sheet and the pillow cases were never changed. The towels were changed only once after 7 days because we expressedly asked for. A pointed iron nail protruded from the bed frame on one side. At breakfast, the waiter would bring you your food. The same for everybody and the same every single day. No choice. 1 bread roll, 1 cheese triangle, 1 boiled egg, 1 portion of jam, 1 of honey,

5* ALL THE WAY, Effharisto Poly Maritsa!! What can I say about this Super Amazing Maritsa Studios and our Adorable Host, Maritsa? OK Well, First I read the reviews before deciding to choose the Maritsa Studios and can I just say that the person from Italy who posted images of a smashed up room, (I hope that Maritsa charged this person for what more than likely run into the €s for the damage to the room and furnishings, (Completely despicable and disgusting!!). Maritsa goes out of her way to help in any way she possibly can to help her very valued Guests and to repay her on the day that these people did by destroying her Apartment. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY That the Greeks would allow their Guests to enter a room that had been destroyed with such contempt!! That’s that out of the way so back to my short but sweet gratitude to Maritsa and her Husband, (What a delightful Couple. NOTHING was too much. The Apartment was spotless to the T. Fresh linen and towels every other day and the room was cleaned every single day. Maritsa and Husband heartfelt thanks for your gracious Hospitality in allowing me to stay for 2 AMAZING Weeks. Beach is only 300 metres (10/15 minutes walk) And there is a Supermarket 5 minutes away and a Restaurant. There isn’t a pool on the Complex but I had the use of the pool across the road (Babis was Super fun too! I won’t just be back next year, I will go back EVERY year. Great location for the harbour, beaches and taverna. Bathroom looked lovely on first impression but was a shame on closer inspection that some holes that had been wrongly drilled in the shower had just been covered over by masking tape instead of filler or tiles changed. Also when I emptied the sink the water came out of drain hole on the floor. A little bit typical of Greek plumbing but a shame after so much effort to put in a modern bathroom. The bed was a bit too soft, which is unusual for Greece. The breakfast was very good, great selection and dining room was kept very clean. Staff were very friendly and efficient.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel Do no look at google maps for pictures, they are from dec 2011 and do not paint the real picture of what this studio is like as lots of new hotels have been built around the area., its stunning, sunny pool allday, always have a sunbed everyday. And the owners two brothers are the perfect hosts, and the food they do is very good. Ill miss my usual mythos and gyros at 1pm. I went with just me and my daughter, yes the rooms are basic, but what do you need a room for on holiday other than to sleep and shower in, its 7 euros a day for the air conditioning, but its well worth paying as its very hot. The walk to kos town is do able in 25mins, but there Is a bus the number 2 that takes you there, never on time, but only 1.50euros each to get to kos town, lambi beach is literally a 15mins walk away and on the walk there is a great supermarket and some great tavernas which do some nice food, found a gem of a restaurant called meltemia which is across from the closest beach to rena. And has a supermarket next door. All in all, if you go expecting the ritz as a room, you will be disappointed, if you go knowing what you are going to get you will have such a fantastic time and the pool is spotless, and the owners knowledge of the area is astounding, you can hire pedal bikes through them. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at rena, and my daughter wants to go back again mainly because it was like having a villa we had that much of the pool to ourselves, yet the place was fully booked. If you are having second thoughts, don’t. just book it.

This was my 2nd stay at Leonidas Hotel & Studio. I came last year with my daughter and enjoyed it so much I had to book again, this time as a solo traveller. Brilliant location, giving you the opportunity to have a quiet relaxing holiday or if you prefer a livelier atmosphere Kos town is a short walk giving you plenty of shops and bars. The hotel and surroundings are beautiful and the family who run it are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are cleaned and checked daily with fresh towels and bedding when needed. This hotel gives you all you need for your holiday. Would definitely recommend and will be returning as soon as I can.
