Meritin Hotel Kuching is strategically located, making it very convenient for travellers. It is easy to find plenty of food and dining options nearby. The staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Overall, it was a pleasant and convenient stay, and I would definitely consider staying here again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay at Meritin Hotel, Kuching We stayed at Meritin Hotel from 15–19 August 2026 during our golfing trip and had a very pleasant experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast offered a reasonable spread of both Western and local dishes, with one of the main staple dishes changing daily, which added a nice variety during our four-night stay. The location is excellent, right in Kuching’s Chinatown, with plenty of cafés, local eateries and street food within easy walking distance. What impressed us most was the warm and friendly hotel staff. Special mention and appreciation to Akmal Hanif, who went out of his way to assist us with storing our frozen products even after we had checked out, and consistently made sure everything was fine throughout our stay. His helpfulness and genuine hospitality made a real difference. Overall, excellent value, convenient location and outstanding service. We would gladly stay at Meritin Hotel again on our next visit to Kuching. Highly recommended! 👍👏

Overall a good stay, hotel location is amazing and within walking distance to great food places. The room is clean, big, and comfortable. The only issue was that when we tried to fill the tub, the water that came out was yellowed, so we gave up (shower water was fine though).

Good location, but check-out day service needs improvement Stayed at Hotel Meritin Kuching during the first week of August. Overall, it was a decent stay and the location in Padungan is very convenient. The room was generally clean and acceptable, although I noticed some dust on the floor when I first checked in. Check-in was smooth. Most of the reception service was fine, although one night-shift staff member seemed rather unfriendly and did not smile or greet us when we came in and out at night. Main downside – check-out day: There was an event and roadblock around the hotel on the day we checked out, but the hotel did not inform us in advance. As we were travelling to the airport, the hotel should have informed guests about the road closure so that we could leave earlier and plan our transportation accordingly. Because of the event, our Grab driver could not access the hotel, and we had to walk about 1 km with our luggage to the designated Grab pick-up point. This was very inconvenient and, in my opinion, not good hotel service. The hotel should proactively inform guests about events and roadblocks that may affect access to the hotel, especially for guests checking out and heading to the airport. On the positive side, the hotel has a great location for food. Top Spot Food Court is within walking distance for seafood, and you can also try ABC and Ling Loong. Overall, a decent hotel with a good location, but communication and service regarding road closures should definitely be improved.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hotel itself was pleasant and relaxing, making my stay very enjoyable. The staff were friendly, helpful, and provided great service throughout my stay. The location was also convenient, with easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions. The location of the hotel is very convenient for us to go around Kuching and finding good food. We are also happy with the services by the staff and we highly recommend this hotel.

Nice and comfort stay at city center of Kuching, will be back for my next trip

The room was a good size, very clean, and had everything I needed. Big thanks to the front desk staff, especially the young man who helped me retrieve a forgotten item from my previous hotel (whose staff only spoke Malay and English). The bar downstairs was indeed very noisy at night; I'm not sure if it's like that on weekdays too. But after a day of sightseeing, I fell asleep pretty quickly. The laksa at breakfast was really delicious!

Strategic location, many famous eateries within walking distance. Not too far from the waterfront also, a nice walk.

Stayed for three nights, and the bar nearby played music every night until 2 or 3 AM, which really affected my sleep during those days. Everything else was great, and the front desk staff were very patient.

We had a fantastic stay at Meritin Hotel Kuching! The hotel's location was perfect for our family trip. Many of Kuching's attractions are within walking distance, especially the beautiful waterfront, making it easy to explore the city without needing transportation. One of the biggest highlights was the abundance of traditional local shops and eateries nearby. We enjoyed strolling through the charming old streets, discovering heritage shophouses, local bakeries, souvenir stores, and authentic Sarawak cuisine. There were plenty of delicious options just a few minutes away, including Sarawak laksa, kolo mee, seafood, local desserts, and cozy cafés, so we were never short of great places to eat. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing a relaxing place to unwind after a day of exploring. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to assist whenever we needed help. Overall, Meritin Hotel is an excellent choice if you want to experience the charm of old Kuching while enjoying modern comfort and a superb location. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly return on our next visit. Highly recommended!

We truly enjoyed our stay - the location is very convenient. Very accessible to local shops, there is a supermarket and 24 hr laundry available nearby. The waterfront is only about 12mins away by foot. As a tourist it is easy to have a taste of the culture and the city of Kuching all within walking distance.
