Hotel Kita Ward di Kyoto

From the moment we arrived at Roku Kyoto, we felt completely taken care of. From the warm greetings we received as we got out of the taxi to the genuine smiles and hospitality given to us at Reception. There is a pride that exudes from everyone at Roku Kyoto, and for good reason. It is an absolutely extraordinary hotel. But it's not just the beautiful accommodations and the incredibly thoughtful design throughout the property. Nor is it just the sumptuous food stunningly presented at every meal. It is the people who work there and represent the true heart and soul of what the Roku Kyoto experience is all about. My wife and I have traveled all around the globe and we have rarely encountered such a level of excellence. The architectural design, the interior design, the facilities and the grounds are all stunning. In fact, the photos from their website do not do it justice. The room we had on the 4th floor was gorgeous and the bed was perhaps the most comfortable bed we have ever encountered (and we travel often!). The tranquility, the views, the attention to detail throughout the hotel are are not just glorious but absolutely inspiring. The gorgeous pool is filled with water from the natural hot springs that abound in that area of Kyoto. It is a sumptuous experience to swim in that very special pool. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but it was the best we encountered in Japan. The food was beautifully prepared , the choices were extensive and stunningly displayed and the service was impeccable. In fact, service is another thing that sets this extraordinary hotel apart. It's not just well done, there is a pride and a joy that emanates from every member of the staff, no matter what their position. It's what gives this place true heart and soul and it's what elevates the experience. We will never forget our stay at Roku Kyoto and cannot wait to return! We would like to especially thank Kayo Naskagawa. Her attention to detail, her inherent ability to go the extra mile for a guest. Her sweetness and ease. Her ability to listen and use that information to heighten the Roku experience for a guest. Kayo, for us, represents everything we love about Roku Kyoto and why we cannot wait to return.

This is the second hotel I stayed in Kyoto. Before going to Aman, I read some of posts here that the service was bad. I then quite regret to make a room reservation though I was impressed by the photos and posts from website. Besides, I had a bad first impression toward Aman Kyoto as they replied email for at least 3 days. This is not acceptable for such hotel with high room rate. When I arrived the hotel for the first day, I was quite surprised by the service. The hotel staff load my luggages from taxi efficiently and sent them to rooms directly. Then I was guided by another staff for check-in. She served me and my child a cup of green tea. This green tea is very special. Its taste is green tea but has a floral smell. My kid and I were very impressed. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy one before leaving. Then we went to Living Pavilion to have lunch. After lunch, our room was ready and a staff took us to the room and introduced us the facilities. The room is spacious, even the bathroom. We stayed in room 楢 . It is near the Living Pavilion, hotel’s restaurant. It is quite quiet. For our staying of two nights, we almost had dinner in room. The Udon noodle tastes good. My son ate it in lunch time and two dinner time. The hotel also provides welcome desserts for every night. First night is dried persimmon and the second night is chocolates. The chocolates are very very yummy. I tried the spa massage for two times. It is really good. As only me and my son in this trip, he couldn’t use the complimentary onsen. I then paid for a private onsen. It is very comfortable. The room’s pillows are very hard. My kid and I didn’t have a good sleep. We asked the front desk to give us a softer one for second night. It still doesn’t fit for me. Thus I didn’t sleep well during my stay. The breakfast had three choices: Western, Japanese and wellness. We tried western and Japanese breakfast. Both are delicious. Especially French toast in western style and porridge in Japanese style. The taste is unforgettable. The hotel environment is very comfortable. It is far away from the city. Only trees and grass around us. Everywhere has fresh air. It refreshes me. If the bed and pillow fit me, it will be perfect. We also had lunch in Tak-An restaurant. The food is good. The staffs are very nice and kids-friendly. They are very tolerant to kids. The check-out process is also very smooth. Everything is well-prepared, even our luggages. We booked a transportation to the Kansai Airport through the hotel. The driver is nice.

Excellent service with decent room. There is enough room under the bed for our opened luggage. The breakfast bar is free with some limited choices (it’s free after all) of bread and coffee. The room is very clean and they provide clean towel every morning. Convenient location. About 15 minutes walk to Kiyomizu temple. Less than 30 minutes walk to most of the main transportation stations. If you take the bus, it takes less than 15mins. But the walk along the way is very comfortable and chill especially during winter so we preferred the walk. With this price, there’s no thing to pick on. Would definitely book this hotel again if I go to Kyoto again.

I am absolutely glad we booked this hotel. The main reason we booked this is because there is a washer/dryer in every room. We booked the family room and they are all located at the Anex building. The main building and Anex building are seperated by about 3 blocks. It is just a few seconds walk from the main building to the Anex building. There are no hotel staffs stationed at the Anex building though, so if you need assistance you need to phone them or walk to the main building. There are free coffee machine, tea, ice, hot water and various amenities located at the lobbies of both building. The location of this hotel is a short 5mins walk to the subway station and a 2mins walk to 7-11 convenient storeand 6mins walk to McDonald's and Lawson convenient store. The hotel is beautifully furnished with modern touch to the rustic buidling of Kyoto. The family room that we chose consist of Futons and Modern Beds. There is a humidifier in the room Shower water pressure is very strong Wifi signals are fantastic. TV is at least 46 inch wide Multiple charging ports available even at the headboard section of the beds. Just like other hotels in Japan, you need to stay over a certain number of nights for them to do daily house keeping. However, they do provide changing of towels Daily as long as you stick the magnet label outside your room door before you head off for the day. They just dont make your bed or wash your toilet, etc. The shower, conditioner, etc are of the famous Polar brand. The only thing that i wish to criticise is that the staffs don't speak good English, and i am fully aware that i am in Japan and Japanese don't speak good english, but the hotel staffs being in this industry should at least have a certain degree of basic understanding of English language. I will give an example, I am requesting for new bottle of Shower Soap, they do not understand and had to send a personnel to my room to see what i meant. I am requesting that they change the battery of the safe box in my room due to low battery and they had to transfer the phone call 2 times to finally get what i meant. Just take note that you will need to be patient when speaking to them to get them to understand what your inquiries are. Every staff holds a handheld device for translation purposes though. Besides the slight annoyance due to language barrier, this hotel deserves way more than 3 stars hotel ranking, it felt more like a 4 stars hotel. Absolutely fantastic and deserved praise. I would definitely stay here again in future.

Hotel pertama yang saya tinggal di Kyoto. Lokasinya sangat mudah. ​​Ia sangat dekat dengan Stesen Kyoto. Sangat mudah untuk menaiki bas dan kereta bawah tanah. Terdapat juga banyak restoran yang lazat berhampiran hotel. Betul-betul bertentangan dengan hotel adalah restoran barbeku terkenal Hiro. Bilik hotel agak besar untuk Jepun, dan kemudahan hotel juga sangat baru. Lobinya ringkas dan bergaya. Tiada peralatan mandi pakai buang di dalam bilik. Ia diletakkan di atas meja di lobi dan anda boleh membawanya mengikut permintaan . Terdapat kolam air panas di tingkat atas. Jika anda penat membeli-belah di siang hari, anda boleh pergi berehat. Sarapan pagi Jepun dan Barat, yang lebih sesuai untuk orang Cina. Saya menginap di Kyoto selama empat malam dan memilih dua hotel. Yang kedua ialah hotel mata air panas di seberang hotel ini. Sarapan pagi lebih kaya daripada Hotel Ara, tetapi jika anda menganggap keberkesanan kos, saya cadangkan Hotel Ara.

Stayed at Daiwa hotel was very good even tho they gave me a smoking room 3 nights stayed was perfectly ok with no smoke smells ☺️. Hotel 2nd & 5th floor has access room to do laundry 🧺 or microwave food also have vending machine and free ice cubes 🧊 very good 👍🏻. Oh ya, free complimentary atas coffee at the lobby 😍. Location super good just 5 mins walk from Kyoto station and route from station to hotel is straightforward plus 2 convenient shops nearby 👍🏻🤓.

Very clean, pleasant. Best part by far: unlimited free use of their two onsen public baths (men’s & women’s alternate daily—look for blue flag for men, red for women) each with shower area, hot bath, warm bath with jets. Upstairs cold bath, sauna with TV, and outdoor bath. Silly me couldn’t open door and thought bath was shut -forgot they slide like a barn door! Wash first in the station-bring nothing in with you, baskets in changing area and lock box do room key before entryway. Baths open 6 am to 11 pm. Great after long day sightseeing. Ryokan provides bathrobes and obi sash, slippers and towels in your room. Quintessential Japanese guest rooms with tatami rice straw mats, futon, and cushion for low table. Hot pot in room for the complimentary green tea and sweet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Massages reservations available after 1 PM to 9. $60/hour. M Checkout 7-10. Cool little neighborhood. 15 minute walk to Kyoto station. Walking distance to UNESCO Toji Temple and several other temples. Easy to catch bus nearby.

Sarapan pagi adalah selaras dengan standard hotel lima bintang dan juga mempunyai hidangan istimewa dan ***a hotel lama, sangat disyorkan. Adalah penting untuk dapat menginap di hotel ini pada harga ini dan mempunyai banyak perkhidmatan nilai tambah. Mungkin hanya dialami semasa wabak. Rehat, keselesaan dan kemesraan adalah pengalaman yang diperoleh hotel ini. Dalam pengertian ini, mungkin semangat yang Kyoto bawa ke hotel ini, dan kami telah memperoleh pengalaman yang dimiliki oleh Kyoto dari hotel ini.

Did’t fail to disappoint. 3rd time staying at Kyoto Hachijoguchi in less than a year. Clean, comfortable, good amenities and excellent price point for location. Kyoto main station, subway, bus stop, mall and 24 hr food joint are all within 8 min walking distance.

The hotel location is superb! Just a short walk to Kyoto station about 2-3mins and it’s right beside the Avanti mall where you can access easily such as Donki to buy stuffs! Love the location and the view from my room is just across from the station. Room wise, it’s pretty decent size at 21sqm and we are able to open our big luggages well. Amenities are free for us to collect at the main lobby where you can take what you need.
