Hidden gem right on the beach…friendly staff, clean rooms, clean pool. Beach chairs/umbrellas/ beach towels a plus…will most definitely stay again….but will bring ear plugs next time due to walls being thin…great place to stay! Close to area restaurants

Hotel was in a great location. So nice to go from the beach to the pool throughout the day! Having complimentary chairs and umbrellas brought to the beach for you was a great amenity that most places don’t offer without an extra cost! Very nice place to stay and would stay again. Kid friendly as well!

Very clean property right on the ocean and with a pool. One block down from A1A so quiet area. Nice pool. They set up beach chairs and umbrellas for guests upon request. Walking distance to some great restaurants. Highly recommend! We will be back!

The most wonderful view, and great accommodation I have stayed at this in five times over the years and there’s always a wonderful staff and the grounds and rooms are very clean. And the only thing I would really love to see change is the smoking policy because every time we sat out on our deck either the lady directly below us was smoking or the person next to us was smoking. So we couldn’t even leave our doors open , or sit out on our deck or they were out there which was very often or I wouldn’t even mention it. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and they have solved this problem by having a designated smoking area. Other than that, you never know what you’re gonna get as far as other guest but it’s always a great staff and a beautiful view. Read less

Nice clean room with the essentials included. Staff was fantastic. Like A++! They took care of any needs we had - beach chairs, new towels, ice. Always friendly and smiling. Steps to the beach. Loved having the chairs on the deck outside our room to drink coffee and look at the ocean. Nice pool area, hammocks, extra items for activities (bikes and kayaks). We would have tried the paddleboards if it wasn’t as windy when we were there. Overall, we loved our stay there. Location was amazing but the staff was the icing on the cake.

We had to switch rooms this time because we extended our stay and our room was no longer available. So they were very kind and accommodating us and letting us just hang out there Until we could move in to the new room. Now the new room did not have one of the newer mattresses so it was a bit too soft for both my husband and I need a little more firmness for our old folks back. And the only thing I would really love to see change is the smoking policy because every time we sat out on our deck either the lady directly below us was smoking or the person below us to the left was smoking or the guy one door down from us was smoking a cigar. We arrived early and were advised , correctly, that we couldn’t access our rooms until 3pm. We were told we could gain access to our room earlier (1.30pm) for and additional charge of $50 plus tax. We asked if we could use the bathroom and our luggage stored securely. The member of staff obliged and stored out luggage for us and advised us to get breakfast in any one of the near by cafes and come back . We came back at 1.30 ish to be shown to our rooms, 1 room wasn’t quite ready . Our first impression did not match what was advertised on the website , the mattresses are long overdue for replacement as they sag very badly. Next we quite plainly and clearly heard the conversation in the next door room when they were booking their restaurant for that evening, plus every other word was clearly discernible . We spent the next hour searching the internet for hotels to stay for the next two nights. Might I suggest that the owners and employees of The Tides Inn stay the night in their own accommodation to see it from a paying guests perspective . As a positive note the room was extremely clean as we were greeted by an overpowering smell of bleach on entry to our room. We took our baggage back down stairs and advised the receptionist that we weren’t staying due to the paper thin walls and what we could hear in surrounding rooms, the receptionist simply advised that no refund would be forthcoming , rather than apologising . Lesson learned don’t rely on pictures, research, research, research !

I was very pleasantly surprised at my visit - the first to Lauderdale by the Sea. My room was impeccably clean and tidy. The bathroom was spacious and shower stall huge. I was only there for 3 nights but appreciated the mini kitchen. The staff was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. My one criticism was noise - the property has only 2 floors (about 12 rooms in total) and I was on the first floor. It sounded like people above me were running across the floors which was disruptive. I’d suggest the hotel should install carpets or sound deadening insulation on the second floor rooms.

I go to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea several times by the year. This was my first time at this hotel and will be me last. Where to begin? ---The walls are paper-thin and you will hear your neighbor and those above you. We were awakened every single morning, between 6am and 7am. I mean, we heard people at all times, but the early morning wake ups were the worst. ---the beds are horribly uncomfortable. They are very low platform beds with just a mattress. Our room had 2 full size beds. ---our room had an adjoining door to the room next door, which is a negative for me ---Our A/C did not cool our room. ---Every time you want beach chairs, you have to go to the office and ask for them which we found very inconvenient. Then, of course, you're expected to tip the guy that sets them up for you. I'd prefer to get my own chairs, when I want. ---There are late check out fees, which I found a bit high. An extra $50 for checkout at 1pm and $150 (!!) for up to 6pm. --They do NOT have a public restroom. So if your room isn't ready or you check out early (they will store your bags), you don't have a bathroom. We were told to go to a nearby hotel tiki bar's bathroom or Publix. There are better options in LBTS.
