Cut a very long story short… there was an issue with the electrics so the restaurant was closed when we went down for breakfast. A sign in the lift said ask about alternative or get a refund. A young man in reception said no alternative but would get a refund. We said breakfast was in with the booking would we still get a refund told yes. Went elsewhere for breakfast. On checkout told again would get a refund in 5 working days. Didn’t get a refund so called the hotel & spoke to Ryan the manager. He refused a refund as we hadn’t paid for it. I pointed out we had to go elsewhere so it did cost us. He wouldn’t have it & when I pointed out 2 of his team has said we would get a refund he said it was out of his hands as systems wouldn’t let him refund. Terrible customer service & he didn’t get that we were out of pocket for their electric issue. Complained to customer service & got a gesture of goodwill… eventually due to the service. We won’t stay here again & certainly don’t recommend to fellow Trip Advisor users.

Good value for money especially as l booked as free breakfast offer. Staff were excellent. The only thing that let it down was the bed. Double bed was 2 singles zipped together. They were well worn and sunk in the middle, it was like sleeping in a cradle, not the Hypnos mattress the TV adverts show.

Myself & my Husband stayed here for 1 night Friday 27th December. We booked the room in September and got a great price of £59. Check-in was fairly quick as we arrived just before 3 pm, but then the queue got bigger behind us, theres a couple of screens for self check in. We also added on breakfast when we arrived for £10.99 per adult. We were allocated room 7 on the ground floor, a great located room, just through a couple of doors to reception. I would recommend these ground floor rooms for people with mobility issues. The room was very clean, and we liked how private it was with the frosted glass on the ground floor (also stopped any direct sunlight sneaking through the gaps in the curtains in the morning!) The shower water was hot, plenty of shower gel, hand wash, towels, tea & coffee, hanging space, plugs & a very comfortable bed. Perfect location for Mathew Street & Liverpool one (5 minutes walk) Breakfast last time we stayed here was extremely poor, but it had definitely improved this time, and I was glad we decided to add it at the last minute. All the food was hot & plentiful. Parking was £9 for 24 hours in the NCP car park directly across from reception (NOT Q PARK, AS YOU ENTER VERNON STREET BE AWARE THIS WILL COST A LOT MORE THAN £9) Thanks for another great stay, we'll be back again (& again) ❤️ The Andersons

The room was spotlessly clean. The location was great , close to train station and a short distance from city centre The staff were exceptional. They were friendly helpful and made us feel so welcome Nathan the Manager was very approachable and deserves recognition for his excellent communication skills
