They offered to transfer us to the nearby Mercure Hyde Park which we agreed to and I highly recommend to accept such a transfer of they make the same offer to you. The Mercure Hyde Park looks newer and more modern, although the room size appears to be equally small (which is to be expected anyway). Location wise, Mercure Hyde Park is close to Paddington station, and there is a linked path with the IHG Hotel Indigo so you can use their main entrance to access Mercure Hyde Park.

Spacious room and bed was really comfy. Air conditioning didn't work well and we could not lower the temperature in the room which made it stuffy. The bathroom was very tired looking and really needed a refurb. We ordered some room service at 11pm as we were late checking in first night. The menu literally consisted if 2 items. We ordered a panini which was disgustingly bad. We expected more choice and certainly better quality. We complained and the hotel agreed to refund us but still waiting for the refund almost 6 weeks after. Breakfast was really good and made the most of this to make up for the poor food the night before hand. Its buffet style also which is great if you are proper hungry.. Staff were pleasant and helpful, just not sure about the security guys at the front door who look like they don't want to be there and struggle to even say hello, which we felt was very odd.. My review is neutral, we've stayed in much nicer places in London around the same price.

Fantastic stay, the location was ideal for the visit, The room and breakfast where both great no complaints, The TV Channels where a bit weird as main channels said bot available but found something to watch (wasn’t there for the TV so nothing worth worrying about hahaha), We walked to Kensington for a bit of shopping in 30 mins, also the parking at £20 for 24 hours was the cherry on the cake!

5 mins walk from Paddington station and clean room. A little bit small for my 28” big luggage. Appreciated that the drinks in the fridge are free (includes 2 orange juices, 2 bottles of water and 2 cans of coke).

Had to clambor over bed to get to kettle as not enough room to walk around the bed, seen better ironing board in a travelodge. Room decor was a bit tired. Air con turned itself off a couple of times. TV partially obscured by curtains. Some insane set up with a set of blue 'nightlights' higbup on one section of wall and the challenge of which combination of light switches needed to be switched on/off to operate then. Witnessed some really poor service by reception staff with another customer they were completely disinterested in her concerns not sure they even understood what she was asking about certain amenities in the room - its like they never even ventured into one of the guest rooms kept going out back to ask questions and coming back with vague answers which were not correct. Restaurant is closed and no room service. Saving grace was the excellent service from the gentlemen working behind the bar who had a brilliant manner and was very helpful.
