Hotel berhampiran Museum of Cultures di Lugano

L'Hotel Ibis è parte del brand economico della catena francese Novotel. All'esterno si presenta come una struttura ultramoderna, con ampia hall e piscina. Le sorprese iniziano quando si entra nelle camere : sono microscopiche, prive di qualunque arredo, persino di una semplice sedia per appoggiarvi una valigia. Sul letto matrimoniale, sebbene la stanza fosse stata prenotata per due adulti, è presente uno sorta di letto a castello per un ragazzo, posizionato in modo tale da garantire che gli ospiti, alzandosi dal letto, si rompano la testa. Il meglio deve ancora venire. Il bagno è rappresentato da un lavandino, anch'esso microscopico e da una cabina doccia, ospitati all'interno della stanza da letto stessa ed il water è confinato in un minuscolo sgabuzzino in cui una persona normale entra a stento. Il bidet è assente in quanto ritenuto evidentemente inutile. Il prezzo è relativamente economico rispetto agli standard svizzeri ma l'economia non può giustificare un'osèitalità così scadente. Veramente imbarazzante.

I stayed only one night as my preferred hotel was fully booked and I was forced into hotel city lugano. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was the kindest I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. Sure the decor isnt anything to praise and they dont have room service or other basics but it is clean and efficient. I have to say one more time that the staff here is just amazing, every single one of them. I would recommend this hotel.

Súper decent hotel outstanding staff my stay here with my family was wonderful and comfortable. The best thing about a vacation is to rest well and have a delicious breakfast and this hotel has it all, a first class service, with high quality care, I have to mention what caught my attention the most was the hygiene at breakfast time is very Important for me. I don't have many photos but I do have videos that I can't upload here from the hotel but I have it on my Instagram karol__0729….Very satisfied with our stay, just need to implement the parking

We had a wonder stay for two nights. The hotel is a classic with lots of history and a perfect location for walking to the town or enjoying a swim in the Lake. The formal restaurant was outstanding. Be sure to ask for a room with a view of the lake. The Pizza restaurant was perfect for a casual dinner with a great view.

Stayed here for more than 21 years this year, and have to say: one of the most enjoyable accommodation, service, food and location on planet earth! And I have seen many places, but coming back to the South of my own country - Lugano - the Parco Paradiso - is always a huge treat! The service is not only hugely accommodating, but nothing remains on my lips as I wish for something! From arrival to departure - all a special treat! Love being here, seeing people that work here, still here and having great pleasure being friends and sharing life! The food at the restaurant is exquisite, why go downtown if the choice is as versatile as is being cooked right here. The executive team at the Parco Paradiso is customer close. There is nothing played: real people with a real commitment - that is not common to many upmarket places I have visited for so many years! My deep respect to all here; there is nothing but absolutely nothing I could complain about!

Sekiranya anda menempah hotel mewah di Lugano, tidak ada pilihan lain untuk saya. Walaupun tidak betul-betul di tengah-tengah Bandar, ia berada di kawasan yang bagus dan tenang dan 10-15 minit berjalan kaki ke bandar sangat bagus untuk menenangkan perut setelah makan banyak pizza. Kawasannya sangat menakjubkan, pemandangannya luar biasa, sarapan bufetnya tidak mengagumkan tetapi sangat bagus (Walaupun wanita yang boleh duduk di sini anda boleh tersenyum sedikit lebih banyak, semua kakitangan lain ketika sarapan sangat bagus). Lido peribadi hebat. Saya tidak akan pernah menginap di hotel lain di Lugano untuk perjalanan musim panas tahunan kami, ini telah memenangi kesetiaan saya seumur hidup.

While the overall stay was comfortable the service especially the front desk was disappointing. For starters the reception has a welcome drink which guests can consume when they arrive, however if a guest wants to have it otherwise - they are expressly stopped by the front office staff staring that ‘you can drink only at check- in not otherwise’. Wow! I found that rude and shocking. 0 points on hospitality for that. Late checkout - no flexibility to checkout late even by 30 mins. The front desk staff kept calling us inspite of a request to checkout at 12 noon latest 12.15 pm but no later. If you’re sitting in the lobby waiting to leave for your next meeting after checking out the looks from the staff were as if you’re unwanted. Your stay is over Just Get Out - don’t hover around. Complimentary drinks at the bar - served as if they’re doing us a favour and if you don’t consume the drinks the same as on checking in the front office staff will confirm with bar whether you have indeed consumed the complimentary drinks or not before renewing or issuing a fresh voucher! They don’t trust you and take your word for it! I personally found that offensive.

This was a reassuring, well appointed hotel. Excellent breakfast, a small bar but with lovely drinks. So close to the station (but you wouldn't know you are!) so only 2 mins walk to get the train but also only 2 mins walk into the centre of the old town. This hotel has fantastic service and we were particularly grateful to the Night Manager Guissepie (sorry if we have your name wrong), who made us a snack late at night and gave us some fantastic advice about the area.

The location is beautiful, but you need to accept that the road to and from the little town of Morcote is exactly in front of te hotel and if you wish to sleep with the terrace door open, you will need to accept the noise from the traffic. The views from the lake front deluxe rooms rooms and balconies is terrific. The room was luxuriously appointed, as well as the bathroom. However this was already the case 20 and more years ago, when we stayed at the property. If one likes the decor or not is a matter of taste. It's rather ”heavy” or say a classic style.. Although the rooms are generally speaking in good condition, refreshing and maintenance are overdue. Carpet in our room had a big stain right at the entry, shower door did not close tightly and squeaked noticeably. The sink drained very poorly, no exhauster in the bathroom to get rid of the fog after a hot shower, and many more issues. No turn-down service in the evening, courtesy bottle of water only on the first day, no change of bed linens on daily basis, not even after three days. Not a single flower, not even artificial, in the room, no courtesy welcome fruit plate or other courtesy in the room upon arrival. One can really notice and feel that the management does not care. Breakfast buffet is good and plenty, served on the 6th floor in Summer and offers magnificent lake views. No ”a la carte” alternatives, like freshly made omelettes, etc. The pool and the pool areas are very nice and food and drinks are served. However be prepared to pay a HUGE price for food and drinks. A coke is 9.00 Swiss Francs, alcoholic beverages are 20.00 and more Swiss Francs, a hamburger or club sandwich gets you way over 30.00 Francs, a ”Coup Romanoff” ice cream 19.00 Francs (!!!) , ONE ice cream ball 6.00 Francs, and so on. Just totally overpriced and we stay at a lot of 5 Star hotels run by Mandarin Oriental, Belmond, Rosewood, Four Seasons, etc. But when it is time for dinner. DO NOT, have it at the hotel. Dish varieties are poor, to describe it mildly. Prices are outrageous for what you get. My filet mignon (petit ) was served with salad leaves (NO, not as decoration !!), but as side dish !! The meat was certainly not that of a prime cut and rather tough, the Osso Buco my wife ordered was totally dry (over-cooked), tough, full of fat. Just bad. As a comparison we had osso buco in a small restaurant in Morcote restaurant two days earlier. It was SUPERB. The fact that one sat at the lake-side and there was live music during dinner did not help to overcome the very bad food. To sum it up, this hotel could be a super 5 star gem. It is not. But I guess that when the management and owner is happy with the sale of rooms and services, there is no need to bother.
