The hotel is very tired and dated and definitely not 5*. Complained about the poor state of our superior room and in the end were upgraded to Junior Suite as hotel was not full. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff were very good and particular credit goes to Sebastien, head concierge who was excellent and in possession of the ‘golden keys’. Not surprising. Recommended good Bouchons etc. Time to refurbish this hotel for guests and staff.

First off- the rooms are small, but ok. A/C is non existent. It simply does not work. It was also very loud from street noise . So, We accidentally left our passports behind in the safe and we were assured that they could ship them to our hotel in Avignon overnight. Our passports got sent to UPS (after paying a premium directly to the link that the general manager of the hotel provided us with and an email exchange with the same GM saying that “the postman picked the package up this afternoon and you should have it shortly “. Only to discover a UPS email saying our package would not arrive until 3 days later (the day of our flight). Had the manager told me that this was the potential outcome I would have taken the TGV to retrieve the passports from Le Royal hotel myself. I’m appalled by the lack of follow through and customer service that transpired during our stay. This place , while centrally located is embedded with amateur hospitality.

This is such a wonderful gem of a hotel, it makes Lyon feel like a holiday home almost immediately. The front desk staff was only too happy to open the door to greet you, they are located in their own cozy corner on the ground floor, rather spartan because everything else - bar, breakfast spot, cocktail lounge - is up the stairs. The hotel may look deceptively quiet but we have stayed in such places where you feel like you have the whole place to yourself, when actually, it does have other hotel guests. Perched on the ancient Fourviere hills and two minutes down the slope from the Roman amphitheatre, the location is within walking distance to the Notre Dame as well as the funicular down to Vieux Lyon. The pool is really relaxing after a whole day of exploring the walking city, and has a fabulous spa of steam and sauna and massage services (book ahead). We checked in slightly earlier and were redirected to the cafe with a wide view of the city and rivers. Food was excellent. The concierge team is very friendly - Francois, Julien and Alvaro can quickly suggest and advise and research for you. Francois sorted out a dinner reservation for me where I had booked the wrong date and purchased extra meal vouchers. A really lovely time, we are telling everyone to go to Lyon now.

裏昂最好的5星級酒店。屋內現代裝修風格，現代衛生間裝修和設施，住着非常舒服。我們是7月份來尼斯，室外溫度高達38度，本來擔心空調不行，結果證明擔心是多餘的。空調冷量充足。酒店的外觀很漂亮，在河邊，看起來像是宮殿，其實是一個大型醫院改建的。因為是一個大型的綜合體，除了酒店還有10家左右的餐廳，和一些商店。早餐也非常豐富。地理環境非常好，步行可達市中心任何景點。

This was the second time I had stayed at the Grand Hotel des Terreaux. The hotel is in a central location in Lyon, and I like the style. The service was excellent, they speak English, and I loved the breakfast buffet. The room I stayed in was very nice but on the smaller side, typical for hotel rooms in France. The bed was very comfortable for me, and the room had air conditioning which is great as it can get quite warm in France. Wireless access was included, and fast and reliable. Overall an excellent hotel I can highly recommend.

Stayed 3 nights here in early September 2022. The hotel is right next to the train station in a building with the Mercure and Ibis budget hotels inside as well. At the moment, and still, the same entrance is used for the Ibis styles and budget hotels, which is a bit bothersome. Staff not friendly / welcoming. Breakfast is basic, often supplies are not refilled (staff very slow) and messy. There is not a lot of space. The bar is closed so for the welcome drink had to go to the Mercure hotel bar. Room was on 9th floor with a nice view of the train station. It was very quiet - they have 2 windows. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Room itself a bit worn down (walls etc.), but I guess it is a busy hotel and not all travelers behave. Overall a nice base for the weekend in Lyon. Walking time to the city centre and the main tourist sights amounts to around +-30mins. WARNING!: Be very careful with the vending machine here, next to the reception & elevators: a bottle of water costs 2 Euro. I was charged 3 times 2 Euro for one water bottle and I am now trying to figure out how to get my money back! Also very strange that as a Gold member they do not provide 2 bottles of water for free in the room per day!

Sitting next to Gare de Lyon, this hotel offers great accessibility, metro, tram, bus, is just across the street. Make it easy to travel to old town center. The room was spacious enough for 2 travelers with backpack. Plenty of space to put our things. Aircon was ok for a hot day in Lyon, gave us a good night sleep. Bathroom also very clean. The hotel manage to give our request days before the trip, appreciate the great communication. The only draw back could be the carpet floor can be a little bit cleaner. Overall the experience and the stay was great.

I booked this hotel back in January for a trip to Lyon on weekend 09-10 July 2022. After travelling from UK and on my way to the hotel from the Airport, we was 5 minutes away when I received a call from Booking.com advising me that the hotel could no longer provide us a room as they no longer had any availability. The hotel did not even contact us directly, but had told booking.com at that moment only, whom called me as soon as the hotel reached out to them. We was stranded with our luggage and no hotel and had to wait for Booking.com to find us an alternative which was over 1km further away. Having booked well in advance, if we had have been informed the day before we travelled they could no longer accomodate us would have been bad enough, but to be told after travelling over from UK and only 5 mins away from reaching the hotel is totally unacceptable. Still the hotel has not even reached out to me directly to apologise for the distressing situation and time wasted on our short trip this caused us. What was meant to be a nice weekend away, ended up being a disastrous one. How can a hotel not know the number of guests they have booked in to stay. Clearly I have marked this hotel with the lowest stars and certainly lowest for Service if thats what you call it. I would love to comment on the cleanliness etc, but unfortunately we didn't even get that far. Customer Service? What customer service? Totally shocking and appalling, be aware that if you choose to stay here, you might arrive and find you are stranded with nowhere to go.

Visited Lyon for 4 nights and used this hotel as a base to explore the city. It is a cheaper mid-range hotel and we found it fitted the bill perfectly. Large and clean room and bathroom with good shower. The reception staff were unfailingly helpful. The hotel is very well located. My tip would be to take 15 mins or so to orientate yourself when you arrive. To walk to anywhere going northwards from the hotel we cut through Perrache station as otherwise you would have to walk through a dark underpass. Public transport in the city we found to be excellent, fast, and reliable. We purchased the Lyon City Card and made full use of the 'free' public transport and free access to museums and attractions throughout this interesting and engaging city that are included on the card. The Lyon City Cards were an excellent investment for us.

Nous avons réservé deux chambres pour une nuit pour une escale sur la route vers l'Espagne. J'avais consulté les tarifs en ligne : 66€/chambre double le weekend. Il est effectivement précisé que les prix peuvent être revus à la hausse en cas d'événements. Lors de la réservation, nous sommes 220€/chambre !! J'apprends qu'il y a un salon en ce moment et que cela explique ce tarif. Lors de la réservation, dans l'empressement, au milieu d'autres formalités, et compte tenu d'une situation familiale difficile (je venais de perdre mon papa, devais absolument trouver un logement à Lyon et ne trouvait pas d'autres options facilement disponibles. Notre départ a été organisé dans l'empressement, la tête chargée), je n'ai pas fait attention, ai accepté le tarif (grosse erreur) en me disant... les photos ne paient peut-être pas de mine et ce sera peut-être une super expérience ! Et bien non... 220€ pour des chambres dont le faux plafond est infiltré d'eau, cassé à plusieurs endroits, le mitigeur fuit, les joints de la douche sont abîmés et moisis, ceux des carrelages vétustes, les bruits d'une machinerie s'entendent depuis la chambre, le lit est fait à moitié avec le drap mal tenu sur le matelas, ma maman dans la chambre 45 a eu froid, le sèche cheveux est recouvert de poussière l'invitant pas à l'utiliser.. Payer 66€ pour des chambres dans cet état... éventuellement. Mais 220 !!! C'est le prix d'une chambre élégante, propre, confortable dans un quartier agréable. A côté de cela, la vitre de notre voiture garée devant la réception a été brisée pendant la nuit... BREF... Je trouve que ce jeu d'offre et de demande a une limite. Une multiplication par 4 du prix est indécente et malhonnête compte tenu de la qualité proposée. J'ai essayé d'en discuter avec la réception, envoyé un mail comme demandé, essayé d'appeler à plusieurs reprises... Aucune nouvelle. Je n'aurai donc probablement jamais de geste commercial attendu mais déconseille fortement cet hôtel à quiconque. A tout point de vue : qualité du séjour, politique, rapports humains ! Nul... Dommage !

Petit hôtel très sympathique, sans prétention, mais très honnete, bien pensé, bien décoré et aux espaces efficacement optimisés et d’excellent rapport qualité/prix avec un petit dej avec des viennoiseries de qualité, ainsi que du bon pain frais, même si une offre un peu plus étendu en salé serait appréciable. Le personnel est extrêmement sympathique et arrangeant . Les « tintins et Astérix » gracieusement prêtés par l’établissement achèveront de vous endormir en douceur.

Good hotel for a short stay - all we needed really. Clean, comfortable, small room with a really big bed. Good shower. Great location. Good price. There is a small fridge where you can store drinks etc but it is not very powerful. The mornings are disturbed due to banging doors inside the corridor but it is not horrendous, especially if you plan to get up early anyway. We did not eat breakfast there because there is so much choice nearby. Overall we would be happy to return there for a few days.

I was happy with almost everything in this hotel. I don't have an opinion on the breakfast because we didn't have it. + : location, its just near the Perrache train station, very clean and comfortable rooms. There was also some free syrup downstairs, and they gave us free Christmas beers at the end of our stay. Very nice staff working (all we talked to) -: too hot in the bedroom and impossible to control the temperature from the panel and there was so much sound because of the wind coming from the rooftop so ask to not be on the last floor.
