This was our second visit back to the Maldives. We didn’t think it could be better than our first experience 6 years ago… but we were wrong. IC Maldives is next level when it comes to luxury, from the beginning to the end. We had a short wait in the beautiful IC private lounge at the Seaplane terminal before embarking on a 40min seaplane ride to the resort. This was an experience in itself. Our last Maldivian adventure, we had domestic air transfers plus a boat ride…. No doubt the seaplane option is way better, more seamless and well worth the cost. On disembarking the seaplane, we had a 2 min boat ride to the resort (seaplanes are unable to land directly at the resort). We were warmly welcomed by the entire team at IC with drums and smiles, we all felt like celebrities! Our curator (butler) Mira was attentive and respectful throughout our stay, giving us the right amount of attention and privacy as well. Our villa was tastefully decorated on arrival with balloons and treats for our daughter. Twice daily housekeeping left our villa spotless and clean always. We had personalized bikes to get around the resort. Buggies were available as well. The app to communicate with the e-curator was efficient. They thought of everything to make our stay perfect! Our 2 storey lagoon villa was one of a kind, and unique to IC Maldives. On one side our own private beach on the lagoon and the other side was our private pool over water- giving us the best of both worlds. There is no access to the ocean from the pool side, which was not an issue for us. We spent most days lazing in our pool watching dolphins and other sea life swim past. Then had a swim in the ever so warm lagoon surrounded by fish! Amazing! This is certainly a high end resort with more of a boutique feel, great for couples and families who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy resort. If you are not on a meal plan, then one would find the food rather pricey. Our breakfast was included and was more than substantial and delicious. Both buffet and alar carte are on offer, with rotating daily specials. We had this meal as our brunch, which satisfied us until dinner, with complimentary afternoon tea and cocktails in between, included as part of Club Lounge benefits. Unlike other intercontinental resorts, everyone visiting IC Maldives has club benefits included. We had room service one evening which was nice, pizza another night, pricey but tasty. The highlight for us was however dinner at the Lighthouse. Spectacular on every level- service, food and ambient setting was en pointe. Expensive but worth it! The whole IC experience was like a dream come true. The staff always made us feel welcome and ensured our stay was comfortable throughout. From management to food service, housekeeping and ground staff- everyone had a smile. We had a wonderful time at The Standard Maldives! We booked the overwater ocean villa and we had a private pool, direct access to the ocean waters, and also complimentary water activities (snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddling) daily. The facilities were very well maintained, we had twice room service daily, food served at the buffet (Kula) was great.

We spent our babymoon in April 2024 at Dhigufaru and are already looking forward to returning someday as a little family. We had a wonderful time and are reminiscing about great memories. While not perfect, the value for money here is absolutely right. Mary was our contact person during our stay and was a true gem. Her kind and accommodating nature enriched our stay. Our concerns were always addressed promptly. The food was incredibly delicious and never monotonous. The rooms were comfortable, although some signs of wear and tear were noticeable. The scenery is truly unique and breathtakingly beautiful. When booking rooms, make sure they are on the Veli side (the beach is much nicer here) - also, the Veli Beach Villas are recommended only from house number 110 onwards, as the previous house numbers are affected by strong erosion on the beach. In summary, one of our most beautiful vacations that we will never forget!

We booked our trip well in advance (two years and six days to be precise) and it was absolutely worth the wait. From arrival at Malé Intl where we were met by the hotel rep and taken to the beautiful new sea plane terminal, it was perfect. Honestly couldn’t ask for more. We stayed in Water Villa 311 and it was stunning. Large layout, amazing outlook over the turquoise blue water, large bathroom, jacuzzi on the deck and a day bed. The mini bar in the room was replenished daily with whatever we’d had during the day (soft drinks and alcohol). The bed was large and comfortable and the air conditioning was a godsend because it was unbelievably hot. The bathroom could’ve benefited from air con too, but it’s not a massive deal. We wanted ten days of utter relaxation and that’s what we got. We spent a lot of time at the villa, reading on the deck and watching the world go by, but after a few days we started spending the day at the beach and it was bliss. Lying in the sun, reading or napping, watching the seaplanes come and go inches above our heads. The bar teams kept you well hydrated and were constantly offering cold bottles of water which were greatly appreciated. We were on the island-wide all inclusive so had all food and drinks included, we also had a complimentary 30 minute massage which to this day I regret not upgrading to a full hour. The masseurs were unbelievable, even going out of their way to source and rub Aloe Vera onto my sunburn (typical Brit). If anyone is thinking about visiting the Wellness Village, you should 100% get the longer massage - you won’t regret it. The buggy drivers deserve a mention too. Always friendly and courteous and chatty. It’s such a nice touch to have them zooming round and it made a real difference to whether or not you turned up to the restaurant sweating or not. We ate at the main restaurant every night bar one and we loved it. The variety of food on offer was fantastic, and the themed nights were brilliant. The choices were amazing, always something to go back for seconds - especially the crepes on Italian night! Every team member at the resort was polite and friendly and would greet you with a smile, from the reception team, to the housekeepers to the guys keeping the grounds in lovely condition. But Rohit in the main restaurant was the standout team member. He greeted us by name on day one, took an interest in where we were from, what we were doing that day, whether we were enjoying it. His enthusiasm and passion were amazing and to be met at every mealtime with a big smile and a handshake was genuinely lovely. We both still speak about him when asked about our holiday, such was the amazing level of service afforded by him. We had the best time ever here for our 35th wedding anniversary...Nizam went above and beyond with supervising the house keeping of our room and the standards were to the highest quality...Sumith the supervisor of cafe mass and the thavaa went over and above to make us welcome every time we went for a drink or something to eat,somya at cafe mass always has a smile on her face and very pleasant ...on the whole and can not fault meedhupparu at all

The whole Dhigali experience was truly magnificent. From the very warm friendly reception at the airport, seamless transfers and meet and greet at the resort the whole experience was wonderful. The accommodation was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The room was serviced twice a day with full bedding and towel exchanged throughout our stay. The hotel manager Chris was exceptional professional but charming and friendly to all visitors and guests, as were the entire staff throughout the resort. From the room cleaning staff to waiters to the bar staff the entire island appeared to run with exceptional ease and tranquility. The service from all the staff throughout all the resort restaurants was outstanding as was the quality of the food at every meal. If people complain about any aspect of this resort I do not know what they expect from a holiday. I can not praise this resort highly enough and if anyone is considering the Maldives you will not be disappointed with this resort.
