EasyHotel Maastricht City Centre

COVID-19 has caused us all one way or another losses and hardship but to find a hotel like easyHotel Maastricht City Centre makes me contribute to recovering their losses is not expected and unfair. Booking.com made the reservation with easyHotel Maastricht in November 2019 before COVID-19 arrived, for 2 nights in July 2020 as we were attending an Andre Rieu concert which was then postponed. I followed the directions and recommendations of the ECC Net to act in good faith with contributing to the survival of suppliers, however easyHotel sadly didn’t follow the Unfair Contract Terms Directive 93/13/EEC and Pursuant to Book 6, article 265 of the Dutch Civil Code. The concert was rescheduled to July 2021 and Booking.com did reschedule the hotel dates however COVID-19 again cancelled the concert and the concert was changed to July 2022 but Booking.com didn’t answer my requests and I had no option but to contact easyHotel which did reschedule the date.but now my wife has had to have chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. The treatment was in October 2021 and expected to be completed in December 2021 and we still planned to come to the Netherlands after receiving all her previous and current vaccines but in May the hospital told us that she was immunocompromised and despite receiving three COVID-19 vaccines and would still need hospital treatment plus it was too dangerous to travel due to COVID-19. The concert couldn’t transfer the tickets to July 2023 and offered a refund but easyHotel couldn’t change the date and refused to refund. Even when I had found a couple who were wanting to take over the reservation, a day before the reservation, easyHotel didn’t reply to an email I'd sent until mid afternoon of the day of the booking, too late for the couple as they had found another hotel Let something positive come out of this virus and support the hotels, travel insurances and other business that followed the guidelines by working with their customers and report business and hotels like easyHotel and Booking.com which feel that travellers should pay for their losses and can’t be trusted to do the right thing. Also didn’t receive any help after requesting a voucher from Booking.com. My initial flights from Australia to the Netherlands for 2 was AU$2500 in 2020 and this year now costs about AU$8200 so we have losses too but I don’t expect easyHotel to pay for it. Anyone who have still not received a refund from easyHotel or easyHotelbenelux and is interested to commence a class action please message me. Please help travellers by adding your hotel to the list. The hotel is very nice, very stylish and modern with beautiful decoration. It is interesting to see how the architects created a hotel in the beautiful building. The stay however was not nice. Booked a (very pricey) junior suite, especially for the second night the sleep quality was very poor. First, the room was street side, and did not have real curtains but only roller blinds that let light through on both sides. There was a street light just in front of our window so it was not dark at all. Second, there was a lot of noice both from traffic in the street as well as in the corridor, all night long. The rooms are not well insulated. Third, it was very hot in the room (contrary to the corridor) and the old airco system made a horrible lot of noise. The only answer of the reception staff was that they would write a note in the system so that I would get a more quiet room next time. As if there would be a next time after spending 1.000 EUR on such an experience! The room was nicely designed though, but was not worth the money. Breakfast was nice, served in the restaurant in the church. The choice at the buffet was okay, you can order freshly made eggs as well as some extras such as pancakes that are charged extra. However, also here not a very pleasant experience with staff being busy without doing anything and continuously moving around tables and chairs during the whole breakfast. All in all, a bad experience, not to be repeated. I can not recommend this hotel as price/quality ratio is just not right.
Mabi City Centre Hotel

We just spent a 2-day stay at Mabi City Centre Hotel/Maastricht. Lovely hotel, very clean, very well located nevertheless we experienced a big disappointment. As we left the hotel on Friday evening to head towards the restaurant, we left our key at the reception desk and gave it to the lady at the desk. When we came back, her (male) colleague, told us they didn't have our key, so basically either way they lost it or worse, it had been stolen or given to s.o. else. Fortunately, the man had a spare key and kindly accepted to open our room, but it left a very unpleasant and insecure feeling. We even slept with a pile of luggage to block the door inside. The next morning, we explained our situation to the reception desk and requested a solution ASAP. We left all day (not very at ease as we had valuable belongings in our room, meaning that anyone could enter it and potentially steal our stuff. Of course, nobody called us back during the day, and when coming back, the only thing they could propose was to provide us another key. No compensation for the (moral) harm suffered in any way but they would enquire what could be done and come back to us on Monday. Having received no news on Wednesday, we've sent an e-mail to which we haven't received ANY reaction so far. Very disappointing behaviour. So our stay left us with a very negative feeling. We had the unpleasant feeling the ladies we're not taking us seriously and even had doubts on the fact we gave that key back. The fact they didn't even come back to us confirms it all!

Great hotel! I knew I'd love a hotel with a reception desk literally at the bar, LOL. Room was big enough, clean and windows opened up to the street below. Was here for a conference at MECC, which was only a 20 min walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and if anything, convenient. Thanks for a great stay!

The arrival was already disappointing. - We were given a room where even my student room was more luxurious and beautiful. There were a few old pieces of furniture that were too bad for the thrift store. - The beds were 2 camp beds pushed together. - The shower did not work properly. - the promised room with cityview was a 2 meter high window where you looked directly against another residential building. That is just pure scam. - the rooms were very noisy. You could literally hear the conversation in the street from the 2nd floor. Really not of this time. - there was also no cleaning, there were still things from the previous guests under the bed, brrrr. - further there was no breakfast. That for a hotel. It turned out that someone was sick so we had to go to another hotel of the chain to have breakfast there. There it was a chicken coop because they now had guests from 2 hotels having breakfast in 1 breakfast room. - After complaining we got another room for 1 night. When we went to get the car for our suitcases, the pass of the outside door was already blocked! Now we had to ring the bell like little kids at the reception that was remote to ask if we could go in to get our suitcases still. - When I angrily said something about this to the manager, she reacted irritated, and I felt far from being welcomed and hospitable. A course in hospitality would be good. - in the new room the shower ran over immediately. When I inspected the shower it still showed dirt from the previous users, which had not been cleaned. Brrrr. We are done here. Not recommended.

這個賓館是我這次旅程住得最長時間的,也是感受最好的,房間非常大舒適,地理位置也很方便,離展會很近;早餐非常奔馳去,品種在西餐裏面屬於中上,性價比很高!地理位置也很方便!
