Hotel 2 bintang Madrid

WARNING: This review contains more than 256 characters. If you can read more than 256 characters without fainting like many of my younger students from FIU (Florida International University in Miami), who had a heart attack when they had to read a full page, then keep reading and you will learn something new. Since my first trip to Madrid in June 1963 when I was 19 years old, I have slept in more than one hundred places, from cheap Guest Houses (when I was a young and poor student at the Sorbonne University in Paris in the 1960s), then in HOSTALES (half a way between a cheap Guest House and a real hotel, when I was a young French professor, just as poor, after 1968) and finally in real hotels, now that I am a retired professor, poorer than ever, after 46 years of priesthood teaching French to French natives in ”Great Paris” during 36 years, then extending my priesthood for 10 more years teaching at FIU, always for peanuts! But since 2016 I have been staying at this IBIS MADRID VENTAS during each stopover on my way to and back from Paris, where my sons were born and raised by their French mothers, because this Ibis offers a GREAT LOCATION, with plenty of PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION and a GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. It is located on Calle de Julio Camba, right at the corner of Calle Alcala, just across from Ventas Plaza de Toros, where bullfight shows take place, and most rooms have a wide open view over this Plaza Ventas and Calle Alcala, which runs uphill towards Plaza Lineal, then to Canillejas, where you can take bus 101 to Barajas airport (but only T 1, 2 and 3) and bus 200 to all terminals, 1 to 4, at the same airport. Just across this IBIS, there is Metro Ventas, where you can take the subway to and from the airport, but I have a better and cheaper solution with only two busses from Terminal 4, where most big US (and also Iberia) airlines arrive and depart from. On my last trip, Sunday August 6, 2023, my nonstop Iberia flight from Miami landed in advance (as most often) at 1 pm sharp at Barajas airport in Madrid. But the time to walk, walk and walk on Terminal 4 International, then pass the Border Police with a Machine (very, very FAST!), go downstairs, take an automatic, driverless, underground train to Terminal 4 Domestic, go through Customs at a lightening speed and get out, it was already 2 pm when I took BUS 200 at the right end of T4. I paid 1.50 € on BUS 200 (WARNING: unlike Miami bus drivers, in Madrid they give change back BUT MAXIMUM CHANGE is for a 5 € note) and less than half an hour later my bus was at the AVENIDA DE AMERICA bus terminal, after going through terminals 1, 2 and 3 and taking the expressway to Madrid with a stop at CANILLEJAS. Two floors up the escalators, and about half a block later, I crossed the Avenida de America, then I crossed Francisco Silvela, walked a few more steps and took bus C-1 (CIRCULAR 1), where I paid 1.50 € again for 3 stops. Yeah it's basically a student hostel / dorm. But that's ok. I paid for the top level room ”Executive Suite with Terrace” and it was still half the price of the nearby hotels. Cons: - If you're over 30 you will feel like a dinosaur - No alcohol allowed in building - they will yell at you if they see you bringing back a beer to have in your room. - The rooms definitely feel like they were furnished for absolutely zero euros. They still manage to be comfortable, but they're not pretty and everything feels cheap. Pros: - Very casual - Very good value for money - Free small breakfast - Rolling blackout shutters on the room and good sound isolation makes for easy sleeping - Friendly staff - Kitchenette in room (at executive studio level) - Great little roof terrace and, if you upgrade, private terrace on the room. Young solo travelers and couples - especially if you speak Spanish - should definitely check it out.

We had SUCH a great time staying at this hotel. We were showing our visiting family what Madrid has to offer and the location of the hotel is perfect for that. Close to the best restaurants and the Sol train station making it really easy to travel around the city. The staff were able to help with anything we needed, and the gifts waiting on our door in the morning were such a great surprise! We love this place and will definitely come back.

It was a very pleasant stay. It is close to Plenilunio Mall, about 7 minutes walking, also close to the airport. It is located in a quiet area. To be able to cook in the aprtment you need to make a deposit of 20 euros. Overall satisfied with the experience and the price

I felt like I was in some low budget Almodovar movie. The staff here were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant left a lot to be desired (and know that there isn't anywhere else you can go from here on foot due to there being no footpaths out of this god foresaken business park). However, again, restaurant staff very accommodating. Not their fault the food was poor quality. The room was very clean, but stank of cigarette smoke coming through the vent in the bathroom. Could hear other people in their rooms making lots of noise until very late. Bad night's sleep. In the foyer young guys were going outside at night to smoke their joints and in the morning the police showed up to top it off! Breakfast, a basic, poor quality offering - nice coffee though. If you can, splash out on something a bit more expensive to make sure you sleep well.

Excelente atención! Estuvimos 2 veces Cdo llegamos y después antes de regresar. En las dos ovaciones estuvimos muy bien. La segunda vez, no tuvieron problema en cambiarnos de habitación, porque en primera instancia nos resultó un poco chica, después estuvimos muy cómodos, todo gestionado por los chicos de recepción. El desayuno muy bueno! Y buenas las cenas de La Carmela! Las mucamas muy amables!

I took my son to Madrid for his 21st birthday and booked a twin room. CONS - 1. At first I thought they’d put us in a double room as it looked like a double bed but it was actually 2 single beds pushed together. I was expecting the beds to be at least a few inches apart. This room was definitely not on the Loveholidays or Booking.com websites along with the other rooms advertised. 2. The room was very small and stuffy and had a musty smell to it. There was a little window that opened onto a messy rooftop and other adjoining walls of the hostel (pictures provided). Because of this there wasn’t any natural light coming into the room so it felt like it was night time the whole time we were there. I feel that we were given the worst room they had. 3. The mattresses were bigger than the actual bed bases and would tip over if you sat too close to the edge. 4. There was only 1 very thin pillow on each bed. 5. The toilet didn’t flush properly. 6. It was quite hot and musty in there. 7. No rubbish bin in the bedroom. 8. Shower either scalding hot or freezing cold. 9. Bathroom door was glass and no lock on it PROS 1. There was a built in safe inside the wardrobe. I wasn’t offered a key for this safe. I had to ask for it. 2. Right in the centre of Madrid. 3. Good WiFi connection. 4. Air conditioning

Ok so after reading reviews on here and on booking website it was mixed reviews I was worried and not I booked the room for £49.52 inc breakfast we was only here for one night we got a taxi from the airport to vertice roomspace it cost around €46 u can get a train however we weren’t sure where the train would stop the taxi driver didn’t know where the hotel was and stopped to ask for directions checked in fine receptionist was lovely and helpful u can pay additional for breakfast at €7 each if u didn’t book b&b the room well what can I say it’s basic I had to laugh literally a bed tv wardrobe and a desk air con didn’t work but it was cold anyway but if u come here in the summer u may wanna make sure it works the bathroom was small and the shower well u couldn’t swing a cat!!! I asked for another blanket as we were cold and they brought us one in madrid city centre isn’t far got the train which was €4.40 for x2 adults one way however cause we didn’t know how to use the ticket machine we ended up with a single so had to buy another to get bck u need the C3 line which takes u to sol which is the city centre bare in mind when u buy a ticket it only accepts card not cash but the main stations accept cash literally a 20-30 min train ride overall the hotel is ok for 1 night anymore than that I would choose something else Breakfast was standard the hot food scrambled egg sausages and bacon didn’t look every warm so didn’t touch that the breakfast was ok continental style I’ve had better breakfast else where in all honestly for 1 night it was fine the bed was comfy only thing is another pillow and another blanket and it would have been good Downstairs there is a little break room with vending machines to get food and also microwaves which I thought was a nice little touch

There is Shuttle to the airport, but mainly 1hour between,near the airport,15minutes roughly. The reception is good and kind. Just the room not voice keep ,i heard the neighbors phone and talk clearly😅
