I just tried to book a reservation for next week via the property website which was 'up and running' with no notice other than once attempted with date entry etc, a notice displayed 'unavailable to accept reservations at this time' - not sold out or anything of that nature. So, as stated on the website that when unable to book online, to call the hotel directly, I did just that. After 6 rings (or more) a recorded message came on informing that the hotel had been sold to the Mammoth Mountain Corp and that all confirmed Sierra Lodge Reservations would be honored at the Mammoth Mountain Inn at the rate that was confirmed at time of booking, and to contact the Mammoth Mountain Inn. Such a shame, I have enjoyed this unique, locally owned property since the '90s. I wonder how many other properties in that area may become subject to an acquisition, driving up prices, etc.
