Bethel Playa Mayapo

Wow wow wow- incredible hotel- if you are a world traveler like us - its like 5 star glamping on the beach but with air con, and the most beautiful touches in every inch of the property. ( Like Burning man festival on luxury steroids with much fewer people). The shower /bathroom areas were amazing. Located on a beautiful beach with soft sea breezes dancing through chimes made of shells. Our suite with double queen beds was so luxurious that we never wanted to leave our room and there was a beautiful large jacuzzi with pillow head rests outside our room door and hammocks to lie around in. The staff are all amazing and did not hover around like someone wrote in a past review. The food was top notch 5 star food. Choose the suites- not the rooms back on the lagoon - I think its nicer to be on the beach and the price was very good seeing they had to bring everything in from so far. The enchanted walk from the reception to the hotel part on the beach is a wildlife fantasy and it is a long walk ( I felt bad they carried all our bags). It may not be good for older people in wheelchairs or weak legs etc. Beautiful pool and relaxation areas ---total luxury ----whoever designed this place had us in mind. Thank you we will be back! One of our nurses wants to do her wedding there.

This hotel is very remote & with that offers a nice & quiet escape. It is beautiful... But honestly, I regret staying here at all! Some things to improve: 1. Getting to the hotel was not easy. I tried to reach out to the hotel to request an airport service, but did not get any response from the hotel. I ended up getting a taxi & had to drive through dirt / gravel roads - You need a 4x4 vehicle & surprised our taxi even made it to the facility. 2. There was 1 pool in the facility & it was under construction. So no pool available to us during out stay. 3. Food was good, but so many flies during the daytime, which makes eating almost impossible without a fly getting to your food first. We were not allowed to eat in our rooms due to policy. 4. There was an issue with ******* and the hotel pre-payment. Instead of them working with *******, the hotel charged me again for money I already paid. ******* has been trying to call / email this hotel, but again they are not responsive. It has been over a week - after calling and emailing multiple times, still UNABLE to get a response from this hotel.
