Highly recommended. We booked a room with a 'superior sea view' and it was worth it. But the whole hotel has a superior feeling - excellent decor and furnishings, comfy bed, great views (including rooftop terrace), first class service, superb location. Nothing we experienced could have been improved, it was so good!

We stayed one night in this slightly quicky and quietly stylish boutique hotel. It was a very comfortable stay with welcoming staff and we were very happy with our room. I like the art displayed too. We very much enjoyed our meal in their restaurant. Didnt like the coffee though and thought breakfast was a bit limited. The hotel is in a great position for a visit to the Turner Contempary, the old town and a walk along the beach - in other words, a great location!

While the photos and description of this special hotel are accurate, I couldn't have anticipated the feeling I had during my stay. Totally relaxing and quite heavenly. I arrived flustered and tired. I was greeted so warmly and taken to a gorgeous room. Delicious scented toiletries in generous glass bottles, a bed like a cloud and beautiful window linen etc. Dinner was unexpectedly perfect too.

Great little hotel in a fantastic position opposite theTurner Gallery and the beach - and on the tip of the Old Town with it's quirky shops and bars. We had great views from room 14 looking out towards the sea. The restaurant has a great tapas menu - well worth staying for dinner. Staff are very friendly and the beds really comfy!

It is fair to say I’m quite particular when I stay at a hotel and I don’t recall a time when I stayed somewhere which ticked every box. However, the Fort Road Hotel has done just that. I loved the thought that went into the design of the room; the open storage, the hooks by the shower (something every hotel seems to forget about!) and the plants which made it feel homely. The decor is minimal but the rooms still feel warm and welcoming. Other small touches like fresh milk and cookies when we arrived (which were beautiful by the way). Watching the sun setting on the roof terrace was something I won’t forget anytime soon. Finally, the breakfast was top notch. Incredible value for the price we paid for it and everything was delicious. I am already planning my next visit to Margate to stay at the hotel again.

We stayed for one night, a good boutique hotel, with a fresh and modern feel. Our room was on the 3rd with a good view of the sea, the bed was very comfortable the room was clean, nicely decorated, bathroom nice and modern with a walk in shower with two heads. We also had dinner in the restaurant, the menu is a tapas based offering, the food was very good as were the cocktails. The hotel has a lovely chilled out vibe, a short walk into the old town and just across the road from the Turner gallery. There is no dedicated parking but there are a few options to park over the road in the public carpark or on the side road next to the hotel . We will visit again for sure. Observations, if the bed could be raised on a platform to take advantage of getting the sea view whilst lying in bed would be epic. Also the TV channel set up is baffling.

Had a lovely stay, our room wasn't quite ready on arrival but the staff very happy to give us complementary drinks, without us asking. The rooms are very practical, very clean and comfortable. The bedding was glorious, the pillows are amazing and would love to know where you purchased them as definitely interested in buying some for home

Fantastic stay - lovely room and very helpful staff. Location is perfect and I'd highly recommend this place. Right opposite the harbour and beach with the old town just a short walk away. Margate is a fascinating place - the mix is just right of regeneration and tattiness (unlike - say - Hastings).

This is a lovely hotel in a great location, with staff who are very friendly and helpful. It’s just across the road from the art gallery and beach, but is quiet with a very relaxed ambience. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was delicious. Would definitely stay there again if ever in Margate.
