Harbour Inn Design Townhouse

It is hard to recommend a Home, since this is more a cosy Home than a tourist hotel! It is beautifully designed and perfectly managed. The writing on the wall accurately states “here we don’t welcome tourists, instead we make new friends.” Without exaggeration Paula and Sara run this business as your friends or even family members. The Hotel is easily accessible by Porto metro, since the Matosinhos Sul (Zone 3) stop is just at a 5-7 minutes walking distance if you arrive here anywhere from Porto. The airport is at a 15 minute driving distance and taxis request only 17 euros. The room prices are very good. Direct booking at the hotel webpage is advised, since it is safe, easy and I believe, best price guaranteed. The surrounding area is quiet and nice. The huge public beach of Atlantic ocean with golden sand is just near the Hotel. The beach area was not equipped with sun lounges and umbrellas, but had lots of people in June swimming, playing and getting sunburned. Breakfasts are served right there in the same building, which is also a restaurant good for lunch and dining, especially for fresh fish food. Several other restaurants, beach cafes and pizzerias, grocery stores are just nearby. Breakfasts are somewhat modest, non buffet and served at your table directly. At an early check out breakfasts are delivered even to your room thanks to the courtesy of the management. We had booked a family room, which was the largest room available there and which easily accommodated two adults and two kids in two separate rooms. The room was located on the high first floor and in reality was the second floor of the building with a balcony overlooking the street and port area. Although right on the street, we felt absolutely no noise from outside, except very little screaming of floors from upstairs and corridors of the Hotel. Beds were comfortable, rooms modern and clean, local air-conditioning available. Thanks to high communication skills of Paula we had all the needed information and the check-in done prior to our arrival there. Indeed here we found friends and felt an attractive family atmosphere!

Amazing! Perfect location. Porto is just 15 mins driving and the beach is awesome. Paula was very kind and helpful. Room nice and cozy with everything you need. Lots of restaurant in the area, serving amazing fresh sea food. I definitely recommend this place!

I've stayed in Harbour Inn for a couple of nights for work. Everything was great, from the comfy bed to the room with all the amenities you expect, to the amazing breakfast downstairs. But more important than all of this was the host: Paula was absolutely amazing throughout my stay. Super friendly and available for everything. On my first day I had to leave the hotel before the expected breakfast schedule but she rescheduled it for earlier without a problem. On my last day I had to leave very early for my flight back and Paula even suggested she could leave that morning's breakfast on my doorstep. Cheers Paula and thank you so much for everything, I will absolutely come back!

Hotel Harbour Inn Design Townhouse was a perfect stop for our Camino de Portugues. Paula is highly communicative and was so kind and welcoming. She even provided our breakfast the evening before so we could start our pilgrimage bright and early with sustenance. The room itself was spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend Hotel Harbour Inn Design Townhouse!

Stayed for 3 nights in August and Sara, our main host, looked after us. The room was big and stylish. The bed was huge and my favorite room was the bathroom with excellent stylish features such as a false ceiling to create a light well. The hotel had a small fridge and a little welcome pack plus apples and biscuits available to guests. Great continental breakfast, very good coffee and best of all Sara and Paula who host the place. They couldn’t do enough. Feels much more personal than a hotel and the attention to detail is excellent. Location v close to all the fish restaurants and Matasinhos beach. Very good hotel. Highly recommend.

Matosinhos may not be the prettiest place on Earth - it’s the impressive beach, the surf, the many seafood restaurants and the proximity to Porto that makes you stop here. Among the grey concrete buildings only one house makes you smile and want to stay - The Harbour Inn. This little hotel is a gem! Please, take a look at the enclosed pictures of our room - you want to live here for weeks and months. A very nice breakfast is included and is served at the restaurant downstairs every morning from 9 to 11 AM. Parking in the street is free. Paula or Sara welcomes you with true warmth and makes your stay here one of these moments that you will never forget … My wife got sick during our stay, and without hesitation Paula arranged for hot soup, toast, tea, bottled water and other necessities- with a smile, with genuine concern and with the remark: Is there anything else I can do…? Thank you SO MUCH, Paula - you must be an angel here in your own paradise.
