For a real treat, book yourself into the recent portfolio addition, a private villa with pool and outdoor shower room, secluded behind your own walled garden…. perfect for couples (with extra sofa bed if you’re travelling with kiddies) The food is world class, the finest ingredients, beautifully presented… be sure to try the La Table Creole for a taste of local Mauritian cuisine. The highest level of service from the staff seems to come so easily to them. Of course you are a guest here, however, they have the most amazing ability to make you feel like you ARE the Lakaz Chamarel experience. An exquisite delight that has blessed Mauritius and our beautiful world. Thank you Lakaz Team, it was a privilege to experience your hospitality.

Lamaz Chamorro seems to get the balance just right, the balance that is between luxury and homeliness. It is set on a beautiful estate which is clearly being worked into a glorious garden paradise. It is set up high above the coast which can be seen to its best each evening at sunset in the View bar for the light show and the dance of the bats and the swifts. The food is of the highest standard and the service throughout could not be more friendly, it is ‘spot on’. They will go out of their way to ensure that you get to eat your favourites. The staff in every department were excellent and could not be more helpful - attendant to every need. Peggy and Thierry were most welcoming and helpful and manage everything smoothly. Morgane helped to orientate us and was an enthusiast for the Piton Canó hike/climb which can be done from the estate. Other staff we got to know well were Rajeev (funny and so helpful), Jeremy (mixes a beautiful Negroni), Hansley, Jocelyn and Cassandra all made us feel at home. There are clearly of course many others working hard to make it all work so well. Thank you

I’ll reiterate what other people have said in that this place really is a hidden gem! We stayed here as part of our honeymoon for 6 nights and would highly recommend to anyone looking for some peace and serenity. You really do feel like you’re in the middle of nature and the rooms have some of the best views we’ve ever seen. The staff are excellent and help you with anything you need. We also particularly enjoyed the lounge room with chess, books and a fireplace for relaxing in the evening, and the Sunset View bar which serves great drinks and gives you an amazing view of the sunset. Get there as close to 5pm as possible, because the best seats fill up quickly!

This place can’t have been real. It’s a privilege to stay here. What a beautiful place. It’s the unexpected surprise after a thrilling ride up and down the driveway (if you like us had a very underpowered car). After the climb and descent, we arrived in one of the most beautiful places I have seen. Immediately you pick up on the peace and serenity of this place. The welcoming smiles of the staff are enchanting. This is hospitality at its finest and they make you feel a guest and not a paying customer. We stayed in one of the first rooms they built. Bamboo. Built in Bali style complete with outdoor shower. They’ve done an excellent job. The shower is very nice and hot. Don’t know what the experience is like in rain as we had perfect weather. The sunset bar gives you a very beautiful view of the coast. There are very nice hikes to walk nearby and there is a shuttle service to the beach. Why are you still reading? Book already!

We are still staying at lakaz, but I wanted to share our experience for anyone considering visiting this hidden Gem In Mauritius. Lakaz Chameral is a world away from our first week in a beach resort and having now been here a couple of days, we wished we had booked longer. In the south the weather is different with more rain, -( the sun still shines!)… however this has not impacted our visit due to the attention to detail, the facilities and the gourmet experience at each meal. We are staying in the BulBul villa and having stayed in many luxury hotels, this is a piece of home combined with that luxury. It is beautifully designed and decorated and gives you exclusivity if you want time alone. On arrival the spectacular view combined with the serenity of the villa was quite emotional and the beauty was overwhelming. Buggy’s take you to and from your accommodation should you not wish to walk up and down the hills, but a morning walk down to breakfast gets you ready for the chef’s delights! There is a communal pool but we had our own private pool and Sitting next to this secluded private pool, combined with the decor of the villa, you could be fooled into thinking you were on safari with the plants and view of the pitons As for the staff, I must mention Peggy as she is the most hospitable host I have had the pleasure of meeting. She is nothing short of perfection and a real asset to this hotel. Her personality shows her genuine love for her role and her aspiration to make your stay perfect exceeds expectations Every single colleague in the team exudes expertise and exceptional service and the smiles which greet you at every interaction make your visit even more special Lakaz offers a unique experience where you are welcomed as family and From the moment we arrived our personal experience has been nothing short of exceptional Although every team member has been amazing, I must do a shout out to gavish our server who would be well placed in any top hotel. I would also recommend you book a massage as the spa service is an experience in itself. With various areas within the lodge, chess, a games room, the hikes, yoga, meditation area, transport to the beach aswell as the trips you can experience in the south, there is nothing that hasn’t been thought of to make your stay a memorable experience. If you are looking for a holiday where you want late nights and lots of alcohol this would not be for you, but if you are looking for a luxurious environment with calm where you can completely recharge a few days here would be an highly recommended addition to your trip to Mauritius. Lakaz truly is a hidden paradise on this island and we can’t wait to return

A lovely boutique hotel set in the Chamerel mountains. Lovely staff and beautiful rooms. We had a sea view pool suite "Le Petit Riviere Noire" which was stunning. Loved the wonderful views, the beautiful lap pool and the outdoor shower. Even though we arrived at the hotel well before check in time we were able to have breakfast, have a shower after our long flight and also have lunch. Recommend the steep climb up Piton Canot just outside the hotel - great exercise and lovely views. This hotel is a great addition to the usual beach stays in Mauritius - we loved our time at this beautiful hotel. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
