Highgrove House Country Hotel, Restaurant, Farm & Spa

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Highgrove House. The rooms were spacious and luxurious. The meals prepared by Thelma deserve 5 stars. Tracy and Johlene went the extra mile to ensure a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

We decided to stay just outside Kruger and do a self drive holiday. Highgrove House gave us as much as it promised - quiet lush colonial location in a gated working Macadamia and avocado farm. Delicious nightly 6 course dinners were included with a lovely breakfast which gave us enough time to explore the surrounds including the Panorama route and of course Kruger Park. The rooms are very spacious with indoor/ outdoor showers and we even had a nice wood fire in our lounge to keep us warm at night. We were particularly appreciative of our friendly host Tracy who always made us feel welcome and also found Johlene the manager very kind and helpful with travel and other advice. The other staff were always so welcoming, helpful and their service was faultless. For those wanting a relaxing and reasonably priced 5 star stay in the Kruger area then this is the place for you. My advice is hire a car and drive - it’s barely 45 minutes from Nelspruit Airport and similar distance to the Parks and the roads are easy to drive on. Would love to come and stay again.

Accomodation, staff, service and food was beyond our expectations. A big thank you to Tracy, Johlene, Ethel, the tremendous kitchen crew, the lovely ladies from the Spa and the helpful guards escorting us to and from our accommodation every night. We mentioned the food already, chef and staff is outstanding and so is the breakfast service for those, who travel early to Kruger. Wow, what a service and really at every hour of the day. Impressive! You all made our stay unforgettable! We recommend High Grove to everybody that wants to combine Kruger with an incredible stay in probably one of the best guest houses in the South Africa!

An absolutely brilliant stay. Attention to detail in every aspect. Delicious and perfectly presented courses of food and table settings, great massage and farm walk. Fire lit in the bedroom to make it all the more cosier. Thank you Kathy, Tracy and team.

Spent two nights here to rest and relax, and do a Panorama Route tour prior to going on safari. The stay was nothing short of amazing and it's a shame we weren't able to stay for longer. As we arrived during shoulder season, we had the place to ourselves and were upgraded to an Executive suite. The bed and linens were excellent and the bathroom was expansive with dual sinks, an indoor and outdoor shower, pool, and sauna. Tracy, Jolene, and the entire staff were amazing hosts and treated us like family. Breakfast and dinner are included and were excellent and fresh taking as many ingredients grown directly on the farm. The grounds are beautiful and part of a working macadamia and avocado farm which really adds to the charm of this place. We were taken on a tour of the grounds and it was very informative. If you are thinking about staying in this area, stay at Highgrove House. You will not regret it!

The guesthouse is a perfect location to see all the hotspots on the panoramaroute! The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful! Breakfast and diner are excellent! The rooms are stunning, clean and very comfortable! We would definitely recommend this guesthouse!

Everything was perfect in the guest house and the food and the service were amazing. It´s not a 5-star accommodation it is a 7-star accommodation. Thanks for the great time.

If you are looking for a unique place close to Kruger then look no further! What makes Highgrove House truly magical is probably a well kept recipe. If I had to describe it, I’d say that you’d need to mix the hospitality and welcome of staying with family with a well polished high end establishment. Combine it all with the fact that you’re dining in a period mansion house. Top it up with a good measure of peaceful countryside atmosphere and you have the rough recipe for this unique place. I’ve stayed at quite a few high end hotels but these sometimes feel a bit impersonal as they have so many guests. Highgrove is a much more intimate setting and the owners get to know you and they truly care about making sure you have a wonderful and stress-free experience. The room I stayed in was an executive suite which had a balcony and an outdoor shower. It was so beautiful Of course my favourite part of the stay was the food (I love eating), I dine at Michelin star restaurants and this place really is comparable to that. Everything I ate was fresh and combined incredible flavours. The thing that I thought was remarkable and which even high end hotels or restaurants don’t always get right is that here they take into account your dietary restrictions and don’t just pretend to adjust the menu, they come up with dishes that don’t make you feel that your dietary restrictions are an issue and they ensure that whatever you’re eating is equal to what other guests are eating. I am gluten free and lactose free so often I am told at restaurants that it’s too difficult (which isn’t accurate). The chef at Highgrove House baked me fresh muffins every day and they tasted incredible. Also they organised breakfast and lunch coolers for my safaris and everything tasted delicious. My review is effusive but it still feels that I haven’t described how incredible this place is. Thank you Tracey, Johlene, Vicky and all the Highgrove staff for the incredible welcome and hospitality, and for making my time here such a memorable experience.

All I can say it is there is nothing negative to say about Highgrove House It is the most comfortable and friendly accommodation The management and staff are the most beautiful people Nothing was a problem for them when I did have a problem with an allergy and they were so kind hearted taking me to the doctor and making me comfortable I love them all!! - all staff Will definitely return in the near future
