Hotel was in a really good location in Mellieha - right next to the bus stop if you want to travel, plenty of really good restaurants around like Villager, and a decent enough spot if you like a bit of coastal hiking, as I do. One minor complaint is that the shower gel/shampoo is dreadful, just water with some green gloop - bring your own if you want to feel clean!

An enjoyable weekend break at Solana. The place is well positioned in the center of Mellieha to explore the town, v. nice view from the rooftop (attached a pic) that they also highlight as instagram-worthy. I rated the location 4/5 because of the relatively minor difficulty to find close-by parking as you need to be careful due to limited hours, but I learnt after that the hotel offers limited parking spots against payment. Cleanliness and service both rated an excellent 5/5. The facilities were good, again they didn't merit a 5/5 only because of a couple of small issues: you can experience a relatively long wait for the 2 lifts (used by guests and staff) at peak times since the hotel consists of two connected buildings, the gym needs a spruce-up as the multi-use machine needs a good oiling and the treadmill's arm cushions easily came unstuck, and the rooftop pool water was slightly murky on Sat afternoon and Sun morning. Other than our studio apartment was a comfortable fit for a family of 4, that included a well-equipped kitchenette that we used on the second night when the kids fancied an evening in after a long day. And nice to see once again the old-school complimentary sewing needle and thread, as well as a good sized bathtub. Tea and coffee freebies were present in abundance in the room. Breakfast was delicious and they certainly got the bacon, sausages, eggs, pastry and yogurt right. All in all, a well-priced worthy consideration if you're staying in Mellieha.

Reception team is helpful It just to be nice, but rooms are very very dated. Air-conditioning didn't work at all. There is no sauna or fitness like it is advertised and ”jacuzzi” is sea temperature :) Breakfasts is very average and same everyday. Location is amazing, but you need a car.

The room was modern and clean. The construction of the room was not very good, in the morning you could hear people coughing and flushing the toilet in the next room. The indoor pool was dirty and the spa was cold- the jets were spraying cold water. In the middle of the day, maintenance decided to demolish something in the room next door which made a lot of noise, had to call them three times before the noise was stopped. In general very noisy hotel for two reasons; no1. constant drafts which made the room doors slam. No2 a big group of youth which were running an talking loudly in the corridors until midnight. Overall the location of the hotel is very good, but if you want to have a quiet relaxing holiday this is not the place.

Hotel ist sehr schön. Neu renovierte Gebäude. Service ist Mega, immer begrüßt werden und sehr Nett außer an Top Deck Pool, da haben wir Jacuzzi genutzt (kostenlos) aber wurde ausgewiesen für andere Gäste, obwohl es noch andere freie Jacuzzi gibt. Alles andere ist schon, vor allem zu Front Office, Floor Manager und Housekeeping. Leider hat Trip.com eine falsche Buchung an der Hotel gebucht. Laut Trip.com bekommen wir Meerblick, aber bei Buchung in Hotel bekommen wir Landblick. Zum Glück war Hotel sehr Nett und das Zimmer wurde gewechselt.

Highly recommend Today we went to double tree for mother's day lunch and I must say it was amazing .from the moment you arrive you are warmly welcomed by the staff especially Biljana who was just wonderful. Great food selection that not only look good but taste good to ,there's something for everyone. Restaurant is also happy to prepare food for people with allergies, intolerance or diabetes etc . Restaurant and hotel lobby and bathroom are spotless and a great factor is that although all tables were full it wasn't over crowded at all . They also gave all the mothers a lovely little gift which was unexpected and a lovely gesture. Great location has parking . It was an overall wonderfully experience we couldn't have asked for more. The only small thing that was a bother to us and others was that we couldn't pay cash and wasn't informed before but other than that it was great .

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. Great location if like near beach with bus stops 2 minutes walk from hotel. Nice walk (long 4km and uphill) along the beach and up past the red tower with great views of Gozo to the north and lovely coastline to south. The hotel has warm indoor pool beautiful rooftop pool (little windy at the moment but good view across bay and up to well lit church. Great bar downstairs good deals also. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Meals good at reasonable prices (cheaper than outside restaurant). Gym has easy to use equipment for a good workout. Room was well equipped and clean, my only con was TV was a little small and selection of channels was minimal. Highly recommend. Will go back again

Perfect location, we were on 5th floor and stayed from saturday to tuesday at last march weekend, if there were any street noises, we didn’t hear anything (our windows were located on main street), balcony was a great bonus to spend evening with pizza and wine. All shops and restaurants are in few minutes. Nice reception 24/7, delicious and various food at breakfast menu. All toiletries were included, towels and hairdryer. Additional warm blankets, but room was warm, used them for sitting outside. Huge free parking lot. Out stay I rate 10/10.

My friend and I were guests at the Bora Bora hotel from the 16th June 2022 until the 20th June 2022 for the DLT MALTA event. Upon arrival we were greeted by a queue outside that lead onto the street. Once at the desk we were told that we needed to pay an ”echo charge” for the duration of our stay. When they took the payment, we were told that our room was not ready as cleaning was being underdone, but little did we know that our rooms would not be ready for a further 6 hours. We were hot, dehydrated and exhausted. We missed out on over half of our day due to the un-helpful reception staff negligence. I suffer from low blood pressure and I needed to rest for a while, but instead I was completely ignored by the curly, dark haired receptionist despite asking for pain killers for my migraine due to the stress that was caused by the hotel. It took me having to wait outside of our room until the cleaner came to open the door for me. When the cleaner arrived she was livid at the fact that our room had been ready for several hours but the reception staff downstairs were communicating something different. The wait time became so bad that a member of staff from Pollen decided to offer us his room just so that we could lay our heads for a short while. I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life on holiday and I will be making a formal complaint on every single platform that I can about my experience at Bora Bora hotel. Please may I add that we were also charged for ice when we requested it at the hotel and when we asked for more tea bags, we were told that we were to use the ones that were given to us on the first day of arrival. Throughout my entire stay at this hotel, I did not feel like I was on holiday.
