Sorrel River Ranch Resort

This place far exceeded our expectations! So much so that I feel like the business person and me wants to help the owners really get this place promoted and have a two-year waitlist but then I plan on coming back so maybe I don’t want to do that? Anyway, I will admit I was a little bit skeptical and nervous that I was paying this much per night until we got here and then I understood what all the fuss was about. It’s hard to put into words, but there’s no way you could have this kind of experience staying in town or really anywhere else. The staff really took care of every detail and catered to whatever we wanted. Everything was clean and well cared for and it’s like they thought of everything. We were blown away!

Such a fun 4 day get away with family and friends for a wedding. A beautiful resort about 30 min away from town, close to hiking trails. I loved being away from the hustle and bustle of Moab it has become so busy lately. You are close enough to drive into town but far enough away that once you are on the ranch you feel like you are away from everything. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin right on the river, the room was nice and clean. I thought the beds were comfortable. My 4 year old son loved being able to see the horses, chickens, goat and pony right on the ranch. We would walk to them each morning to say hello. Breakfast was delicious, Suzette our server was attentive and helpful. We also walked out to the JJ Mercantile store one morning and did breakfast there, its a nice quick way to grab a bite. Orlando the food and beverage manager was also very attentive and nice at dinner. They have a nice gym that has everything you would need for a great workout and big windows for a nice view. At night there are firepits right outside the cabins on the river where you can roast marsh mellows, we had an amazing weekend and would stay again.

This is an absolutely beautiful property. It has amazing views and I loved how they have activities on the property for guests to do. We went horseback riding with Justin. He was so knowledgeable and helpful. He was kind and you could tell he really takes pride in his work. I went on a hike with Jordan. He too was very kind and knowledgeable and you can tell he cares. Everyone we talked to was amazing. I will say the staff made our stay! Cem, peaceful, Thabi, Abby, Justin, Jordan, Hannah, Laura, Anil, Ataka were all people that really care about their job and their guests. Cem was incredible and always wanted to know if everything was going well. He was incredible!! I will say the rooms could use a good thorough cleaning and some updating. Other things on the property could use some updating as well. If the owner would just take some time to really put some effort in these things it would be perfect. For how much guests pay I really think they can spend some money to put into the rooms etc. And I really hope they appreciate their staff. I’m not kidding when I say they all went above and beyond to make our stay top notch! I would come back just to see the staff and get the amazing service we got. The food was amazing as well. I also had a massage and Laura was great! Thank you to everyone I mentioned! Thank you for making our stay so incredible and a vacation we will never forget!

My husband and I enjoyed an amazing dinner at The Sorrel River Ranch Resort overlooking the Colorado River. Not only was the food superb the service was excellent. The chef visited our table to explain the origin of the food and how our meal was prepared. Very personable and interesting. We strolled the grounds and enjoyed a post dinner cocktail by the fire on their beautiful patio.

A big thank you to Sorrel River Ranch! The most wonderful location in Moab. We went as a group on a photo shoot project, launching a big balloon on the lawn! Everyone at Sorrel River Ranch was so accommodating. We want to especially thank you Baltazar for welcoming us. Can't wait to return!

This place has an amazing location, but it is sad to say you DON'T get your moneys worth. We really expected it to be an amazing experience given what they charge, comparable to other luxury hotels, but it wasn't. I have to say, it wasn't all bad, but still there is so many areas of opportunity and things to be improved in order to call this property a luxury experience. Upon arrival, we were not informed of any of the amenities or activities offered at the hotel nor get any help getting to our room. While walking to our room it really seemed as a ghost town, very run down, lamps and fountains not working as well as junk all over the property and no one to fix it or put back into place. The furniture at the patios, gardens and terraces was very dirty and misplaced. Our room was very nice, had some coffee mugs left at the table as gifts and complementary coffee and tee. Once we got settled in, we went to the bar to have a drink at the patio, but there were no waiters at the bar. We went to the restaurant to ask for help, only to find a single waitress who told us she was the only one working at the hotel that night. The bar was full with dirty cups, glasses and bottles as there was no one helping the single waitress that night. Have to say, dinner was excellent, they have an amazing chef. After dinner we sat at our porche but the light were broken, so we literally brought the lamp from inside tO have some light outside. We were disappointed when our bed sheets tore in the middle of the night. That has never ever happened to me. As well as the towels left by housekeeping to dry on top of the bed frame. Overall, our experience was very disappointing. We really felt ripped off. And the worst thing is, we received a survey from the hotel regarding our stay. When they replied we asked for some kind of refund or compensation, only to be completely ignored after sending various emails. So there you go as far costumer service. NADA! Honestly, they should bring their star rating and prices down and avoid customers being disappointed.

Highly recommend! Great stay!! Staff was amazing and went above and beyond to address any questions/concerns. Location is fabulous. My kids loved seeing the chickens and horses with Justin and also the rabbits with Paul! Thank you for a great get away! Will definitely be back!!

This place is magical. The setting is incredible. Ranch is beautiful, rooms are top tier, food is great, and the staff makes it even better. Everyone from Brooke at the front desk, Rieza w housekeeping to Suzette and Orlando at the restaurant. They work hard to make your stay unforgettable.
