Old Monterey Inn

Undoubtedly a gem in Monterey. My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at this Inn, and we had a wonderful time. The Garden Cottage room was very comfortable and romantic. You will feel very relaxed as you walk through the beautiful and peaceful gardens and enjoy the relaxing aromas lingering in the air from the abundant flowers. Breakfast was served at 9 am, and of course, it was very delicious. The General Manager, Wendy, was attentive to our needs and made us feel comfortable. She made our stay pleasant and, without a doubt, gave us the desire to return.

Staff was warm and welcoming. The room was cozy and very comfortable. Breakfast was good but I would have rather gone out to breakfast.

I cannot recommend Old Monterey Inn enough. My husband searched for the perfect hotel to take my parents for their surpise 70th birthdays and this did not disappoint. Ying is the best host. She is there upon arrival to warmly great you and give you the history of the Inn and how your stay will flow. Each room is so magical and its own. My favorites were the Brightstone and the Library, however you truly cannot go wrong. I love that breakfast is hosted family style at 9 AM sharp. I highly recommend eating in the dining room with theother guests. It was so special and nice to meet others and break bread. In the evening there is music, an amazing fire, wine and cheese in the parlor. The ambiance is so perfect and sets the mood for a perfect weekend in Monterey. The beds, pillows and sheets are so comfortable for a perfect nights sleep. We will 1000% be back! Thank you Ying for the most perfect trip!

What a wonderful place to stay and be pampered! Wendy and her crew go the "extra" mile to make you feel like family. Very delicious breakfast(s). and great service. Loved the evening wine service and cheese plate. Hope to see your place this Chris**as. John, Liliana, and Harlow (grand daughter).

A delightful weekend at the Old Monterey Inn. Our room, Stoneleigh, was beyond charming and had everything we needed. The staff were welcoming and accommodating and the breakfast outstanding. We also loved the convenient location and the interesting mix of other guests. And the gardens were lush and quaint. We would go back in a heartbeat.

The Old Montgomery Inn was a wonderful B&B for our first visit to Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. The English Tudor mansion and expansive gardens are immaculate. Wendy and her team were wonderful, even provided a picnic basket for us to use on our adventure down the coast.

I cannot say enough good things about Old Monterey Inn. We booked it for three nights for our babymoon and purchased the babymoon package. Everything exceeded our expectations. The inn was so homey and cozy. We stayed in the Ashford suite, which was more spacious than I could have imagined. It was like a two bedroom one bathroom apar**ent and had a ton of closet and bathroom storage space. Keep in mind the bathroom doors don't latch shut, they just sort of sit shut. Wendy was beyond accommodating of all of our needs including my gluten allergy. The evening happy hour was something we took advantage of every night and absolutely loved. There usually weren't many people there, but it was nice even when it was just us enjoying the wine and snacks together. The babymoon package was so worth it. Spoilers ahead regarding it. -The welcome snack basket was actually a beautiful, generously portioned plate of cheeses and fruits. They supplied gluten free crackers as well. -The restaurant voucher made for a wonderful and stress free night out. It was an $80 voucher so be prepared to pay for some of your meal. I'm glad I inquired about this in advance. -The sunset picnic was above and beyond. They stocked the picnic basket with everything you can think of and, again, accommodated my gluten allergy. It came with a bamboo mat and blanket to sit on as well. -Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning and they even accommodated the fact that we wanted it a bit earlier (it is typically served between 9:00-9:30). Keep in mind that it is a fixed meal each day, not a menu of choices. Everything was delicious, but my husband is a bit picky so that was tough for him. -The flowers and welcome gift were super nice touches. Overall this was absolutely the most special weekend I could have imagined for our babymoon. Thanks, Wendy, for everything!

We had a relaxing stay at the old Monterey inn. The room was clean and the bed was soft. There was a refrigerator stocked with water, soda, yogurt. There was a tea and coffee station to use anytime of the day and even a self clean car station outside. It was in a perfect location to aquarium, restaurants ,17 mile drive , National park and point lobos. Breakfast was a highlight every morning and afternoon snack/wine was welcomed after a long day out! Not many B&B do wine hour anymore so it was so nice to have it be part of our stay. Wendy made our stay truly enjoyable. She was so helpful and welcoming and made us feel comfortable our entire stay. I would not hesitate to book this B&B again!

This makes our third stay at OMI. Great location, beautiful Inn, lovely Innkeeper who always makes us feel welcome and special. If you love gardens, this one has a relaxing one that I sat in every night that we stayed. Breakfast is a vegetarian affair, always delicious. If you like to walk, the downtown area is a short distance away and it’s nice to not fuss with the car. We came in on a Tuesday and the Farmer’s Market was in full swing and offered lots of great food, vegetables etc.
