Apart from being a great location close to departmental transport and the hotel including the rooms are very clean the staff are extremely friendly and courteous plus they go out of they way to help - This is are second time stying in the hotel and we would highly recommend it

Hotel em excelente localização e com ótima infraestrutura. Café da manhã muito bom, bem como limpeza do quarto, serviço da camareira e o atendimento dos funcionários. Aliás, vale a pena se hospedar em London Palace pela prestatividade de seus colaboradores que vai desde os atendentes da recepção até a educada senhora que a noite aqueceu minha janta. Somado a isso, o fato da garagem ser no próprio hotel e termos acesso ao carro de forma.rapida e fácil, inclusive na chegada que já podemos colocar direto na garagem e fazer o check in. This hotel was very disappointing for me and my wife. Looking at the pictures and the previous reviews, I really thought we would stay in a great hotel, but the reality was different. We did the reservation for a standard room, the pictures don't show how small they are. The room that they gave us was on the 2nd floor, and the window was direct to a central air conditioning machine (I suppose it is). It's a big machine, terrible view, but also terrible noise. They turn it off at 6:30pm, and turn it on at 08:30am. If you want to sleep in it is impossible, or if you want to take a nap in the afternoon, impossible too. Besides that there is a door in the room, to the next room, it's obviously closed, but you can hear everything from your neighborhood. The bathroom is ok, towels are good and clean. But when you take a shower the floor gets all wet, even with the box close, it's probably some leak. We stayed for four nights, and in two of then the air conditioning was not working. We called the reception and the answer was that they would have to call a technician, to repair it. They fixed, but in the next day it was broken again. Fortunately the weather was not so cold, and it was possible to leave the window opened, but we we had to deal with the noise coming from outside. We asked to change for a better room as soon as we arrived. But the receptionist said the hotel was full, and that in the next day they would have a free room, in a superior category, but it was necessary to pay the difference to the upgrade. We said that we have the gold benefit from hoteis.com, and this update would be for free for us. As soon as we told about the benefit, they tell us that we need to wait for the next day and see if the room would be still available, but, of course, it wasn't free anymore. Although the location of the hotel is good, we definitely wouldn't like to stay there anymore.

Hospedamo-nos no Pocitos Plaza. Hotel EXCELENTE! Atendimento excepcional e hotel muito aconchegante e com serviço sem reclamações. Café da manhã muito gostoso, destacando o suco de laranja. E à tarde, servem um delicioso café da tarde. Funcionários muito bem educados e solícitos. Indico, tranquilamente!

This hotel is ideally located to walk to the central (shopping) and old historic parts of the city. It is also a short walk from the coastal ”rambla”cycle and promenade. Reasonably priced restaurant / bar and breakfast service - comes with 22% discount if you pay with a non-Uruguayan credit card (as do all restaurant in Uruguay). We had nice big room on an upper floor with views over the Rio de la Plata and the sunset (but only top floor rooms have balcony - you can access the rooftop terrace but there is not much there other than the view). Reception very helpful in organizing visits, taxis and bike hire (these are available on site). Only slight criticism was location of air conditioning in large rooms meant we didn't benefit from it in the sleeping area and, during a very hot spell, this was a problem. Would recommend staying here.

Awful service - this hotel is not worthy of even 1 star. Their staff are not trained properly and ruined our stay in Montevideo, don’t waste your money here there are plenty of better and cheaper hotels available. 1) The hotel lost our booking and blamed it on us, making us wait 30 mins at reception at 10pm at night for our room 2) The window in our room was broken, we informed them in the morning and when we came back to the hotel that evening we were informed we couldn’t open the window and it was slightly fixed but they would fix it tomorrow (no offer of compensation or apology) 3. The reception staff repeatedly ignored our phone calls when we were trying to clarify the room bill (I called at 15 min intervals for 1 hour so it was obvious they weren’t picking up our room) - never in all the hotels I have stayed at around the world have reception staff repeatedly ignored a room call, it is the worst service possible 4. They tried to charge us more than was originally agreed for our room at checkout and nearly made us miss our flight I have stayed in hotels all across South America and this was the worst service I have ever received - do yourself a favour and save the headache of the poorly trained staff and book another hotel.

The hotel is incredibly clean and looks brand new (it is actually 1.5 years old). The room (rooms 510 & 410) was spacious, clean and decorated very nicely. The shower water pressure was incredible and the beds very comfortable! But the very best part of this hotel is the staff! I booked 2 rooms for 2 seperate nights and Andres at the front desk made it easy and kept us in the same room. Vanessa, Maximillian and the gentleman working with Andres in the evening made a tour to Punta del Este that we didn’t was possible, possible. Thank you all for your help! I will not ever even look for another hotel for my next stay in Montevideo. I will only stay at the Hotel Costanero! They went above and beyond and the location by the shore is perfect! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

The property was very conveniently located. It had a beautiful old-style, wrought iron elevator and a small but nice rooftop patio. The room also had some nice old-timey touches like the crown molding. The bathroom was a good size (compared to others we encountered on our SA adventures) and the shower had excellent water pressure. The receptionist who greeted us provided a map and lots of helpful advice about sights nearby. My friend enjoyed the coffee available near reception each morning. BUT, while beautiful, the elevator was ultimately very slow and sometimes didn't come at all. The furniture in the room showed some wear. While it fit with the antique-y theme, I probably would have removed some of it at that stage of dilapidation. Our room's bathroom when we arrived wasn't fully clean (there was hair on the floor and in the shower), and the waste basket's pedal opening mechanism was broken so it was awkward to use. We removed the wastebasket's top to make it easier for us (and hoping the whole thing would be replaced by housekeeping) but they just set the top back on (broken) in its inconvenient state again. And not the hotel's fault, but the entire 1.5 days we were visiting, one couple monopolized the rooftop deck - they and their belongings were spread out there every time we checked - so we didn't feel like we were welcome to use it.

I hope that this hotel understands that needs a major update/renovation Our suites were fine in the sixteen floor with great views My room had the furniture jaded with stains Only one phone out of two that usually have I spent the whole stay with the phone not working (the policy we will make it right did not happen) I had to use my personal phone to contact my partner My TV had the volume super low Had to call two times and was finally fixed Both remote controls with wasted batteries We had breakfast included but we gave up after the first day The staff looks like tired upset to be there The quality of pastries as croissants and breads are super lame No spoons for your coffee The excused using the COVID but saw coffee spoons in room service lame cold cuts cold eggs and uncooked bacon I asked the girl in the stand to cook it well and it was returned in the same way raw pork us unhealthy (policy to make it right did not exist) The front desk staff is great but the seating area is a shame with old and stained seats This is a great property but a renovation is needed and the restaurant needs new staff and Chef

We had no problems with the hotel, its location or cleanliness. However, we were double charged for our room back in March 2022 and 7 months later have still not received a refund. Upon check in the girl charged our credit card the incorrect amount for our booking. When I pointed out the error, she recharged my credit card in the correct amount and said she would issue a credit once she asked someone who knew how to process it. Shortly after we were issued a credit and given the appropriate slips indicating the 2 charges and the credit charges to my card. When we arrived home I noticed 2 charges from the hotel on my credit card statement but no credit. For some reason the credit has never processed to my credit card. Up on closer inspection of the credit slip I noticed it says INCORRECTO at the bottom and therefore never got processed. I have sent numerous emails trying contact someone at the hotel since this booking trying to get my $463.50 USD refund; and no one will return my emails or my phone calls. I even had the booking agency contact the hotel (***********) and they still will not correct this matter. This is not a big hotel (it has 21 rooms) and at the time of our stay it had very few bookings so reconciling this matter should not be a problem. I wonder if they make a practice of doing this type of thing??
