We spent two nights in Alquimiste and we never wanted to leave! The guesthouse which is almost 100 years old is full of antique furniture, original artwork, and even has a lookout tower on the 4th floor boasting 360 views of the Carrasco neighborhood. It is a 2 minute walk from the beach and very close to some of Montevideo’s most famous restaurants. Carolina and Mark are delightful and happy to help with anything. The restaurant is lovely, and the breakfasts is a real treat. Hot croissants, freshly baked scones with marmalade and cream cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, and beautifully plated granola we’re just some of our favorites. Staying at Alquimiste, you really feel like you are apart of something special!

The staff was warm and welcoming and was able to communicate with us even though our Spanish is extremely limited. The facilities were great even though we didn't stay long enough to really take advantage of them. The view of the water was fabulous. The bed was comfortable and inviting after a long day of traveling. I look forward to staying at the Hotel Cottage Carrasco again on future trips.

El hotel cumple muy bien con lo que buscaba, ubicación frente al mar en la zona de Carrasco, instalaciones, desayuno, estacionamiento. Muy bueno contar con bicicletas de cortesía!!! Lo volvería a elegir! Como punto a mejorar, deberían mejorar las almohadas... son demasiado flojas.

Hostel maravilhoso! Adorei a estadia! Quartos novíssimos e recém reformados, com toda a comodidade e um nascer do sol incrível no Rio da Prata! Hotel bem simpático e agradável, onde tudo é pensado para satisfação do hóspede. Atendimento nota 10 de toda a equipe, sempre solícitos e dispostos a ajudar nas orientações turísticas e nas resoluções dos problemas. O café da manhã é farto e diversificado e ainda oferecem, de cortesia, um lanche servido das 17 às 19 horas. Água e café à vontade durante todo o dia também estão entre os diversos mimos oferecidos aos hóspedes. Acomodações limpas e confortáveis e localização muito boa. Perto da Rambla, de bons restaurantes, shopping e comércio em geral. Alguns pontos que merecem melhoria: - A ducha poderia ser mais forte e fica por cima de uma banheira antiga. Banheiro antigo que deixa a desejar se comparado ao restante do hotel. Merece uma reforma. - Espaço do café da manhã é pequeno para a quantidade dos quartos. Dependendo do horário é necessário esperar vagar mesa.

The hotel is beautiful. As soon as you get inside you are greeted by the receptionists, who are extremely friendly and polite with everyone. As you get in the room, using your card, you can see the bathroom to the left and the TV and beds at the end of the hallway. Next to the bed, there's a small kitchen and a table, just in case you want to cook something there instead of going out. The cleaning crew wasn't very punctual, we never knew at what time they were coming to clean the room and they would always forget to restock the toilet paper or the towels but after a few complaints everything was solved and it never happened again. Apart from that, the rest of our experience staying there was amazing!
