Ulasan Daiwa Roynet Hotel NAGOYA-SHINKANSENGUCHI

Just opposite JR Nagoya Station and with a Lawson Store (with Ghibli murals) just next to it. There is a Genkan that separates the guest room door and bathroom from the bedroom, very thoughtful design and set up. Amenities wise will be better if can be consistent with its Kyoto and Tokyo outlets, to include free flow drink machines (Kyoto), foot patch and bath powder (Tokyo). Overall, still a great stay and will recommend for visitors who prefer proximity to train station/bus station.

The hotel is located in a convenient location, just a short walk from public transportation options. Upon arrival, the staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they efficiently checked me in and provided me with all the information I needed about the hotel's amenities and the surrounding area.

The room was reasonably spacious, didn't feel cramped at all, and the front desk staff were very friendly. However, when I booked on Ctrip, there was an option for one adult and one child. Since my daughter is under 18, I selected that option. To my surprise, when I clicked, it somehow changed to a child under one year old. Upon arrival, the hotel asked me to pay an additional ¥3,000. I checked, and the walk-in rate for that day was actually cheaper than what I had originally paid, so adding ¥3,000 made it even more expensive. I tried to negotiate with the hotel, but they refused and told me to contact Ctrip. Ctrip also said there was nothing they could do, and I couldn't cancel the booking. It felt truly unfair, but I had no choice but to accept it. This option system is incredibly misleading; I clearly selected the correct one! I strongly advise anyone in a similar situation to double-check carefully to avoid making the same mistake. On another note, the address is very close to the train station, but there's road construction happening right now. Plus, it was very sunny and hot in Nagoya, so walking to the hotel was still a bit tiring. Nagoya isn't really that exciting of a city.

The hotel is conveniently located near Nagoya Station, just under a ten-minute walk away. For the shortest walk, take Exit E7 from the ESCA underground shopping area, located directly in front of the station. Complimentary disposable toiletries are available for self-service at the front desk; however, please note that facial cleanser and moisturizer are not provided. Self-service kiosks make check-out very convenient, and luggage storage is also available.

To reach the hotel, exit Nagoya Station via the Taiko-dori Gate. Turn right and walk straight along the street (no need to cross) until you reach the first traffic light. You'll spot a Lawson convenience store on the opposite side. Cross the road there, walk a short distance, and the hotel will be right there. The hotel's environment is excellent. Despite its proximity to the station, it's surprisingly quiet. The room offers ample space to comfortably open a 28-inch suitcase. There are plenty of local eateries nearby, and a Bic Camera store is also within walking distance. For breakfast, you can enjoy a unique experience at one of the distinctive cafes in the area.

For our last day in Nagoya, we chose the Daiwa Roynet hotel near the station. The room was compact but had everything we needed, including a surprisingly spacious executive-style desk that added a touch of sophistication. The bathroom layout was very practical, and the charmingly deep bathtub was a cute touch. The ventilation was excellent, so our towels dried quickly. Making our own room key was a unique experience, and toiletries were available for self-collection in the lobby, along with my favorite Sencha tea. Everything was just lovely! Big Camera, Seria, and Torikizoku were right across the street, offering great shopping and dining options. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!

The room was very clean, but it was genuinely small. I could only open my suitcase and place it under the desk to keep the aisle clear. Despite its compact size, it was fully equipped, even having a fridge and an air purifier. Anyway, since I spent most of my time out, it was perfectly fine for sleeping and showering. It's also not far from the subway station. They provide two complimentary bottles of water daily, and no more – you just have to go with the flow! The self check-in/check-out machine was very efficient and quite convenient. Overall, it offers excellent value for money, and I'd still recommend it.

Great location 5 minutes from the Shinkansen exit of Nagoya station. Breakfast was a simple spread but tasted good and had many Nagoya specialties like the ogura toast and miso katsu. Staff were also very polite and helped to process early check in(small fee of 1000yen per hour) and also forward our luggage to Tokyo.

Gave me the lowest floor upon arrival! Need to negotiate a few times and finally moved up to higher level in the last 3 nights! Spent 5 night watch the big sign post opposite the road!
